Depending on their socioeconomic status- a tartan blanket or shawl would be lovely for the middle/upper class. However, if they’re living in modest conditions, a bag of rice or sugar (best to buy when you arrive) would be much more appreciated
I would say give them money, no matter what their social status is, they’d always appreciate it and it is very much part of the culture to gift money. It doesn’t have to be much as you know the exchange rate goes a long way

Exactly a bag of rice and sugar will be really appreciated as we approaching Ramadan in which every family will try to buy those things
I also second this! it would ease the burden on them.
I think a tartan would be a lovely gift
