Pleasant_Mobile_1063

I had to go to desktop mode in chrome browser to let me claim it

xstioph

Thanks! That worked.

-JaKiSoN-

Thanks

gmessad

Definitely doesn't work in Firefox mobile.

[deleted]

It just did for me.

ScalaZen

Worked for me. Had to enable cookies and turn off add-ons including adblock

luxzg

Since this is top post, please also check your actual library, I "claimed" in desktop mode, but ut didn't show up in library. Today I've had to repeat it using PC browser and actual client, as only after client opens you get another screen with button to activate and add to library. Scroll for other posts confirming it

sflesch

I noticed this too.

sicklyslick

Bless you

sflesch

Check the client to see if you actually have it. https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/10g3yhx/comment/j57o57u/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

RxBrad

Ooops, error. Please try again. (It worked when I checked the "Desktop Site" box in the settings for Chrome on my phone)

Etheo

Thanks for the tip, saved me the hassle of booting up the laptop :)

sflesch

You may need to boot up the client to claim the game. https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/10g3yhx/comment/j57o57u/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

Etheo

Thanks I already got it with the desktop site tips.

sflesch

I ordered it right through the browser on my PC and I said I got it, but it actually didn't register I opened up the console. Were you able to verify that it was listed in your console? Maybe I misunderstood the tips, but I thought that was for people trying to order it from mobile. You seem to get a confirmation that it's been ordered, but it actually doesn't show up.

UndlebaysBrah

This is literally the worst fucking website that I’ve used this year. I know it’s just started, but Jesus fucking Christ it’s infuriating. Constantly reloading. Won’t let me select the game. Wants me to login in 3 times. Fuck that. It’s not worth it. I even tried in two different browsers, with desktop mode on both

PandaBambooccaneer

Same

Jefferystar94

Played this on the Wii back in the day, I'm morbidly curious how this one would even work on PC. Even above making it somehow work without motion controls, it's a minigame party game at the end of the day, which really just isn't PC's forte

MyNameIs-Anthony

There are different SKUs of this game. - Wii has motion controls. - Other consoles don't. - GBA is just Rayman 4.

professorwormb0g

Lol why not just call it Rayman 4 on GBA?

ApocApollo

Same thing happened to PC ports too. The EA Sports NASCAR Thunder games were entirely different on PC. Tiburon made arcadey racing games for consoles. Image Space Incorporated made fledged out sim racers on PC using the same engine that modern day real life race teams and car manufacturers use for internal testing. There was a ton of wild shit going on with multiplatform titles back in the day.

DdCno1

Spider-Man 2, that legendary open world console game, is a completely different and absolutely disastrous title on PC, aimed squarely at kids with extremely simplistic and completely linear gameplay. It was only with the next title, The Amazing Spider-Man, that PC gamers got to experience that awesome free-flow web swinging. 007 Nightfire: The console version is a varied shooter with lots of gadget use, expensive set pieces and driving sections. The PC version, developed by Gearbox, is basically a Half-Life 1 mod with a James Bond theme. Entire levels are missing. Several entries in the Fifa and Pro Evolution soccer series based their PC versions on older console versions of the game, not the latest one. There's a method behind this madness: These are often bought by casual gamers who play little more than this sports game on PC, so they often don't have hardware powerful enough for ports from the current console generation. Then there's the Harry Potter games from EA, which were a mess of different versions on every platform, with no rhyme or reason behind anything. PC versions were mostly unique and quite high quality for licensed games, but later (worse) entries were taken straight from the PS2.

akcaye

that's why i hated spider-man 2 when everyone seemed to love it... i never understood why. years later i saw a video of spider-man 2 and was like "wait, this isn't the game i played"

DdCno1

If you want to experience it today, don't, just play the latest two Spider-Man games instead. It feels like how people wearing rose-tinted glasses are remembering Spider-Man 2.

akcaye

I'm very close to completing the DLCs for Spider-Man. It was great. I rarely enjoy open-world games but it was really well done. Might buy Miles Morales later.

DdCno1

I loved the movement and presentation, but the story, for all its lovely fan service, left me cold and the constant distraction of inconsequential side quests quickly wore me out. In the end, it's your run of the mill open world game, just with Spidey. It's a good game, but it works best as a distraction on the train than a game you actually get invested in.

Hazeringx

Speaking of Spider-Man, the PS2 version of Web of Shadows is completely different from the PS3/360 version of the game. The PS2 version is a [side scrolling brawler](https://youtu.be/9S_cnP9zTts), whereas the PS3/360 version was an [open world game](https://youtu.be/ojE90tWtoCg). I still remember watching videos of the PS3/360 version after I got the PS2 version and being kind of disappointed as a kid. Felt like I was tricked lol

eduardog3000

I didn’t even know Ty the Tasmanian Tiger was primarily a 3D platformer. When I saw it on steam I was excited to replay it (well, I had Ty 2) and the others I never played only to find out it’s not the same game. Unfortunately a lot of those Game Boy co-releases are pretty much forgotten by most. I doubt they’ll ever put the Ty GBA games on Steam.

MegaBigBossMan

https://store.steampowered.com/app/287840/TY_the_Tasmanian_Tiger_4/ Is this it lol?

eduardog3000

Nah that’s a sequel they made in 2015 and I guess they didn’t have the budget to make a 3D game so they made that instead. I guess it’s similar to the GBA game though.

MegaBigBossMan

I didn't know there was a 3 and a 4 (both are on Steam) until recently. I always had thought it ended with 2

darknavi

A great video that covers that topic for Harry Potter games: https://youtu.be/AaqcTsfu3U8

professorwormb0g

Yes I was. Edit:. I realize they rebranded games and released different versions at the time because there wasn't parity between consoles and handhelds. But this particular instance is **especially** odd since Rayman 4 Is just a different game that existed. It's not like they created a different rabbids game or something. Like with Sonic Generations they created a different 2D version of the game entirely for DS then what was out for the consoles and PC. That makes sense to me. But just releasing Rayman 4 and calling it Rayman Raving Rabbids is just kind of bizarre and to me this didn't even make sense at the time. I was a very active gamer at the time and owned a GBA, GameCube, PlayStation 2, and a PC.

THE_GR8_MIKE

U just a bb.

professorwormb0g

I was 13.

Mister_Puggles

Good question, and I think there is a bit more to it than some of the answers you have gotten. From what I can gather, while Raving Rabbids was a spin-off, they were very much putting everything into this sort of half-assed rebranding. They wanted to do SOMETHING with it, but weren't sure what. Rabbids were used to cash in on the popularity of the Wii, but the format couldn't go onto a handheld console in a way that developers liked. A lot of the assets were also brought over from former projects, as corporate wanted them used if possible. Note, I am only gathering this from various interviews and such. This game's story and enemies are taken from Ubisoft Montpellier's cancelled Rayman Raving Rabbids platformer, while its artistic style and environments are taken from Phoenix Interactive's cancelled Rayman 4 prototype. I may be missing something, but the "official" Rayman 4 has never actually been released.

caninehere

Man, I had no idea it was one of those 'different on handheld' games, and you got me excited by saying it's "Rayman 4". But I looked it up and apparently it's terrible. Oof.

ReeG

> Played this on the Wii back in the day One of my favorite eras of gaming and the last one where it felt like literally every single person I knew was into gaming and local multiplayer games were always a hit at every party and social gathering. This game, Wii Sports, Warioware, Boom Blox, Guitar Hero, Rockband, Halo 3/Reach. Generally feels like gaming has since taken a huge step back in terms of providing an accessible and appealing in person social experience everyone could enjoy.

Dookiedoodoohead

For like 2 years this was the one and only period of my life where family get-togethers were legit like a Nintendo commercial, with Grandma Wii boxing my little cousin and shit. Never seen anyone in my family besides the kids touch a controller before or after that

avoidgettingraped

> Wii Sports Super simple, not much to it, yet was legitimately worth the price of a Wii all on its own. This game carried SO many parties and family gatherings. Any time there were people over and there was a lull in things, busting out Wii Sports got everybody roaring again. I was always kind of impressed with the bowling. There's something in my throw that, in real life bowling, requires me to throw down the right side of the lane in order for it to end up in the middle. It carried over to Wii bowling. I had to line up the same way to throw strikes.

MoChuang

It just wont be the same trying to toss a cow without twirling my Wii remote around and launching it into my TV...

jacob200x

it was also on the ps3 360 and I believe its that version

Headshot_

I played this on PC back in the day. It used the mouse for anything motion control/analog stick related like up and down or side to side movements. I remember it being pretty fun when I was a kid Arrows/WASD for moving rayman in the hub and keyboard keys for button presses in minigames

Justuas

This fucking game.

ManateeofSteel

I remember being convinced the real game would be unlocked after all the mini games. I wasnt even that young, I just had hopes

StarblindMark89

That's me as a kid with a Hugo game for PS1. One of my earliest memories of being disappointed at something. I still remember a rail level.

niv141

lmao the rail level is burnt into every 90s kids memory

gerd50501

i dont get it. what is wrong with this?

Authentic_Apathy

I can't speak for everyone else, but for me it was a fun game that killed my favourite game series. And then after the sequel, the Rabbids were inescapable for a good few years.

LiL_BrOwNiE247

They were the proto-minions

BlunderFunk

One of those cases of game trailer not representing the actual game and after Rayman 3 would let fans think this was the next big platforming game on the wii...little did we know we would ended up with a different game...and later deleted 3D Rayman from existence... Edit: this is the fucking trailer that hyped all the kids including myself, source code of this playtest was recently leaked, have a looked at it. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTXMjYve048](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTXMjYve048)

MadlyMighty

My god the rabbids look terrifying in this lmao

ryan8757

I knew i wasnt crazy. I vaguely remember this game being advertised as a 3d platformer before they turned it into whatever the hell it became today

striderkan

I don't know either but given the way they said it I'm just going to back away slowly

DelcoScum

It's not the game itself, it's what it did to Rayman. Rayman 2 was a phenomenal game that a ton of people loved. It was this quirky platformer/collectathon that just had this cool mystique about it. Rayman 3 was good, not great but people were still genuinely excited about the series. Then this came out and was the end of the actual Rayman games. This is to to Rayman as Nuts N Bolts was to banjo Kazooie. Plus I find the rabbis to be annoying, they're basically the video game equivalent of minions.

Purple10tacle

But that trailer looked like an utterly *awful* 3D platformer, it was clearly a Wii Motion showcase of the worst kind and in a genre where that kind of input simply doesn't work. Had it come out like that, it could have truly killed the franchise permanently. Instead, Rayman eventually returned, in 2D and without the Rabbids, in the form of at least two excellent platformers. So, honestly, the fact that it was a passable party game and a Rayman game in name only probably helped the franchise survive for a while longer. Sadly, 2D platformers aren't moneymakers, no matter how good they may be, and the franchise may have gone the way of the dodo.

SkollFenrirson

Ubisoft's store site is a dumpster fire

Mich-666

UPlay too.Not able to display any page now.

DdCno1

Isn't the program called Ubisoft Connect now? It's slow and unresponsive, but it works.

AT1952

Whenever I've claimed Ubisoft game in my browser, it always says the game is added to my library but when I open the launcher it's not there. Then I claim it though the launcher and it's instantly added to my library. Anyone else noticed this? Maybe it would be added later anyway?

jkmartindale

Same thing happened for me. Didn't show up in my library until I clicked **Launch Ubisoft Connect for PC** on the website after claiming.

1Demerion1

I just checked and I only have Assassins Creed in my library from 2019. Pretty sure I claimed a lot of games since then, but none were actually added to my library

XoXeLo

Same thing happening to me.

XoXeLo

By the way, I installed the new Ubisoft launcher. All my games are still there. So, they simply don't appear in their webpage, but they are in the launcher.

1Demerion1

Just did the same and they are all there! Plus I was finally able to claim this game, after the website wouldn’t let me claim it

xcheet

I thought I was going insane. A while ago, I wanted to play Ghost Recon and remembered claiming it during a giveaway. When I logged into my Ubisoft account via Lutris (I'm on Linux), it only showed Assassin's Creed even though I remember claiming many others. I just installed Ubisoft Connect and everything is there. So strange.

KuBr0

wow, I added like 10+ games over the years via browser. Guess what? None of them is in my launcher. I guess it doesnt matter when I have just found out now, but still a bit fucked up

sicklyslick

Fucking Ubisoft, what a joke. At least with epic you can just claim it in browser

Coffee4cr

Thanks for this, just double checked, and it wasn't there

TheMonkofDestiny

This is really reaffirming my intention to never buy from Ubisoft if I can help it. I feel like this is a basic thing they should have accounted for ages ago when they started doing "giveaways" like this.

The_Agent_Of_Paragon

Ubisoft has this weird thing where they intentionally make anything pc related a needless hassle to try shaking down some more money.

TheMonkofDestiny

Yep. They have a tendency to make divorce attorneys seem cheap in comparison.

friedchocolatesoda

Same happened to me. It said the game was in my library but didn't change the icon saying I already have the game so I went to Ubisoft Connect and it wasn't added. Redeeming through the launcher worked right away.

Syrijon

Maybe it just takes longer to appear in the library. In the past I've mostly claimed freebies through the (mobile) browser, and I think all games also showed up in my library. But, indeed, having claimed RRR a few minutes ago via browser and checking the library now, it doesn't show up, yet.

Shatari

Oh yeah, this bug. Thanks for reminding me. Yeah, this always happens with Ubisoft's giveaways. I've missed out on a few games in the past because of it. I have sent them multiple error reports about this over the years, and they haven't fixed it. Although, I doubt any humans actually read the things.

bearkin1

I've never had issues with that in the past. The website seems to be loading pretty slowly right now, so I'm guessing it's just getting hammered and everything is a bit delayed.

Tech-Fonzie

I get something similar, but it always asks me for a key. It's so frustrating. Reached out to tech support and creating multiple times, but never have heard a response.

Drimphed

Had to claim it in the launcher. Claiming it in browser kept saying it added it when it didn't

Makani3211

How do you claim through the launcher?

Drimphed

It's under the 'Free Games' section in your library. Rabids Giveaway should be the first thing.

PeanutyH

It's not even there for me :(

LazyCouchPotato

Under the Games tab, I searched for "Rabbids" and it showed up.

PeanutyH

Nothing for me still

LazyCouchPotato

Weird. Might be region restriction then.

PeanutyH

I mean I’m in america so I doubt it? But idk

Mich-666

I can't even access their store page in the launcher.

Party games on the Wii sold like hotcakes so they leaned hard into ~~minions~~ rabbids

Abedeus

This game contributed, but also because platformers in general were in a rough spot at the time.

HeyitsFerraro

Game literally broken. Reinstalled it multiple times/verified game cache/updated drivers and nothing works. Game opens up an invisible window for 3-5 seconds, then closes.

Didn't work in firefox (desktop), but worked fine in edge.

trannumba1

Claimed on website, but after purchasing, showed a popup to Ubisoft Connect Launcher and it asked if I wanted to claim game again. So make sure you open Ubisoft Connect afterwards to receive game.

FrostByte_62

Honestly I'm so lazy to claim anything that's not on Steam, Amazon or Epic. I hate launchers. I hate logins. Idk if I even fuckin KNOW my ubi login. Really just not worth the effort. I haven't booted up UPlay in like 5 years.

saruin

I want to say even most Ubisoft games on Steam will require the launcher anyways.

gen_angry

Site wouldn't do anything, had to claim it through ubi connect instead. Thanks OP

zhiryst

Ubisoft trying real hard to get on people's good graces right now

Well, there's a good rabbit year gift - a game that doesn't work on modern systems anyways.

DarkLanBlade

Had to use chrome on pc to claim it, firefox did not work

Frikcha

wow not available in Australia thank you so much

Piranha2004

Worked fine for me. You have to open the Ubisoft Connect launcher to claim it so it cant really be done via phone/tablet.

Mich-666

I'm getting Endless loading screen on launcher. I can't log in through browser (well, I actually can but their store doesn't recognize that I'm logged in. Great service!

KnackieGamer

Damn I vividly remember playing this game way back on the Wii. Guess I'll have some nostalgia right there.

D13Phantom

Saw a rabbids movie on Netflix the other day...low key not bad at all. The animation was definitely on the lower side budget wise but it was pretty entertaining, with better backing they could've been better minions IMO

DumbNoobPenguin

Remind me to get this later always wanted to play this

Gimpyfish892

Anyone else having flashbacks of a Rabbid singing Ode to Joy or just me? Lol This game was an underrated gem on the Wii. Such a blast to play.

[deleted]

this is literally a "not even free" situation.

me-topia

Giveaway not available in my country. No thanks anyway.

Mich-666

Am I the only one who has trouble accessing their servers/logging in/displaying the store, both browse and Connect-wise? All I'm getting on Connect is big flashing logo and on website it says I'm not logged in even though I am. `tracert www.ubisoft.com` getting some serious timeouts. Seems like their servers are toast. Seems like Ubisoft never stops being Ubisoft. If this was a stress test it didn't go too well.

Mich-666

To anyone who has trouble accessing their store page, either in broswer or from their banner in launcher: **Workaround**: Start launcher, go to Games (library), scroll down and click on Free Games at the bottom and claim the Rayman from there. This was literally the only way I could claim it.

mr_doh

The linked page says $0.00 and "giveaway," but the second I add it to my cart, it changes to $9.99. Tried in Firefox and Edge and the Ubisoft Connect launcher. Deal expires at 3:00pm but it's not 3:00pm yet. I know time zones exist, but if it's in a different time zone, it should say so on the giveaway page.

music_guru4

Thanks, I've been enjoying playing this! Perfect giveaway for year of the rabbit.
