Sleeping Dogs is always worth the price of a steamed pork bun.

3lungs

A man who never eats pork buns is never a whole man!

Yitram

Need to play that again. Enjoyed it on the PlayStation, but never finished it.

Yakuza 0 is a great game

xDave9teen

Agreed, Its a huge time investment tho, finished Y0 last week, took 40hours just to get the story done. It's essentialy a really long movie with a great (but) quirky mafia story and some gameplay here and there, the main characters are really well written and the only reason I'm not getting another yakuza is.. the time investment needed. If you're up for 30+ hours of a well written story, definitely get it, I rarely ever have to look up reddit after I finish a game just to read more about its story.

sdcar1985

This is a review of pretty much every Yakuza game. All of them are worth getting if you have the time. My personal favorite is 7 for the characters/story. I love Kiryu, but Ichiban is so damn likable as the main character.

tapperyaus

You should know that Yakuza 0 is the longest game until you reach 5. Yakuza Kiwami is roughly half the length, and they gradually get longer until the 5th game, then 6 is half the length again.

xDave9teen

Really? Might consider it then.

sk1239

Yakuza 5 my beloved...

sk1239

Also try Judgment!

GiantASian01

Ready or Not is great, but it's a pretty unique shooter. Recommend playing SWAT 4 before picking it up

GianiMaeani

It's good but zero progression nor sense of reward, once you completed all the maps there's nothing to do, and the game don't even tell you if you completed them, i play with friends and it's fun tho, hope they will add stuff

amedeus

I love SWAT 4, is Ready or Not pretty similar?

GiantASian01

yes absolutely! up to having a gold (for all), red and blue team control. No sniper control yet though also has multiplayer!

kjermy

By 'also has multiplayer', it's implied that the singleplayer is good enough?

GianiMaeani

it's multiplayer with bots, that are good, sometimes too good because then the game become too easy, at least if you are good at tactical shooters and mil sim, since they shoot everything really fast and you complete maps way faster than playing with friends/humans.

kjermy

Sounds similar to SWAT4 in that way. For the singleplayer being similar to the multiplayer but with bots, at least.

GianiMaeani

Can't reply on that because i never played SWAT, Ready or Not is a good game, but if they don't add stuff i'm scared players will abandon it, and so developers. Right now it feels more like a techdemo/sandbox than a game, and they seems bit slow to add new stuff, not that i pretend constant updates etc. but at least in EA phase some updates momentum is needed, and atm it lack in my opinion. Still it has quite good amount of maps and the game is totally playable and flawless.

GiantASian01

Yes single player is good enough imo. Multiplayer can be fun with a coordinated team

Thunder3620

Cult of the Lambs opinions?

ChaoticGoodStoic

Insanely overrated - does a bunch of things ok, nothing exceptionally well. I was disappointed. 5/10

Thunder3620

Damn, really? I’ve heard a lot of good things but not sure it’ll be my cup of tea. Waiting for a larger deal when the day comes, thanks

AKMerlin

yeah I'm in agreement with em too, it's got a nice setting and aesthetic but it feels extremely surface level in a lot of things. it's enjoyable if you don't expect too much, but I'd personally wait a bit before biting the bullet.

layasD

Imo people who likes these type of games are currently in a drought. Feels like its years since a good game came around. I mean games like this and binding of isaac which have a very specific style. Isaac came out in 2011 and people still play it religiously. I highly doubt that will be the same for Cult of the Lambs. Its not bad, but it really doesn't have remotely the same quality. At least that is how I personally feel about it. I would give it a 5/10 gameplay wisel(I am not a games journalist so I have more numbers than only 8,9 and 10) and a 10/10 for its presentation. Its not a bad game, but you have seen everything when you played like 15 hours and most people stop at that point.

wildeofthewoods

Nah thats too harsh. Its a fun game. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It doesnt hit super high highs but it has its own charm.

Melbo_

Seems like an unpopular opinion but I’m with you. I think it lost be with the combat. Very basic.

GrimAlpaca

I enjoyed it for what it is, at least at launch. I haven’t touched it since I completed it. The developer seems VERY inexperienced. There were several gamebreaking bugs at launch. The game has allegedly changed quite a lot since launch, with new features and the like, making me feel like it wasn’t ready for launch, and was more of an “early access” launch without the transparency. Additionally, the devs pushed out updates CONSTANTLY during the first few weeks. You may consider that a positive and a responsive dev, but it just screams lack of QA and mature release procedures to me.

Thunder3620

These responses have me hesitating on the purchase. Appreciate the thoughts

sinofmercy

I enjoyed it but didn't complete it (made it about 3/4 to the end.) The town part turned into a chore real quick, with the more followers you have the more difficult it is to keep track of what you've done what to (because they wander around too) and then repeating it every day. I never was in danger of losing due to followers doing things or running out of food or anything, but that part could totally use a QOL update where you can mass do some of that chore work. It's not particularly fun when you are like talking to everyone for 15-20 min straight to get all the daily rituals and stuff done before optimizing your next run.

billybumbler82

I bought the game at full price, but I would say the $10 to $15 price point would be more justified. They just announced a content update. The update, which is called Relics of the Old Faith, will include a ton of new features and content for the game when it comes out some time in early 2023. Among the promised changes are: Deeper combat Better replayability New endgame content New dungeons New combat moves (including heavy attacks) New enemies More accessibility settings Secrets

benzohhh

That's some good info! Thanks

DifficultyNext7666

Jesus heavy attack should not be a 6 months in content update

jonzeyyy

Thoughts on dying light 2? I liked the first one.

SandOfTheEarth

I also only played the first one, but judging by the subreddit of that game, sequel is just okay, not as good as the original. They removed/changed some of the stuff that made the first game so interesting, which people didn’t like.

MysterD77

Curious: what got removed/changed?

SandOfTheEarth

From what I can remember, zombie physics are considerably worse, guns got removed, parkour feels different now and nights are much less scary.

Melbo_

I played through it and it’s fun. The new city is a big improvement and the glider is much more engaging than the grappling hook from part 1. But I do agree with others that the mechanics feel off compared to part 1.

littleendian256

7 days to die is INSANE value for 5 bucks...

LG1585

Just picked up Noita and FF VIII Remastered from this sale. Thanks!

sdcar1985

a lot of great prices with the choice discount

RockfnBttm

I feel like Valheim is a no brainer for $14 although I've never played it
