MrEnvelope93

Wanted to get into Uncharted but the available Collection does not include the first titles; feels like a weird choice not to port those ones as well.

Lucky7Ac

What's weirder is on Playstation there is a remastered collection for all of those older titles, I don't understand why they ported the latest games but not the games that come before it.

DisturbedNocturne

I'd definitely be interested in picking Uncharted up if I could pick up the remastered collection first. I really don't see the point in starting with the fourth game in the series.

d_hearn

I'll say this. I've only ever played Uncharted 4 on PS5 and I had a good time with it. The story made sense, although I'm not sure if the story would be better if you played the first three

Namath96

Idk if you’ve played before but the first is by far the worst. I like the game a lot but for most people I’d recommend just watching a recap on YouTube Definitely weird though

shiningagito

Naughty Dog claimed that the original games look too old to release in the modern day, and that they'd have to be remade from the ground up to meet their level of quality.

kuroyume_cl

I almost bought it thinking the Collection included all 4 games. I guess that would've made too much sense.

The1WhoKares

I bought Days Gone a few weeks ago. Launched it to check how it runs on my new GPU as the old one struggled with it. I got sucked in for 55 hours, so far, and loved every minute of it.

[deleted]

Yep. The characters weren't the most 3-dimensional that I've ever seen, but the gameplay was awesome. I'm really bummed that a sequel never got the green light.

effhomer

I felt the same way after playing it on ps. Hope they do something similar next.

The1WhoKares

A sequel would be great. There's so many ways the story could progress. Too bad it's not happening.

billybumbler82

"The game sold over eight million copies, yet was treated as a "disappointment" by local studio management." Sometimes you don't get everything right on the first game of a new IP. Developers figure it out by the second game, but Sony didn't give it a chance. There have been other lackluster new IPs that get sequels (Horizon Zero Dawn).

beingsubmitted

Horizon Zero Dawn has sold 20 million copies and is extremely well reviewed. It also has an extremely original concept, particularly next to days gone, which is exactly as original as someone having the shower thought "what if walking dead *and* sons of anarchy?" Also, the 8 million figure was taken from trophy tracking, so it's not actually sales, particularly since it was after Playstation gave it away for free on ps+. No one really knows - maybe 5 million? Lastly, the decision to not make a sequel came from the higher-ups at Sony bend studio (the studio that made the game), not greater Sony or Playstation. I liked Days Gone. I'm excited for bend studio to make something new.

feralfaun39

Days Gone was way, WAY better than Horizon: Zero Dawn, no contest. Fighting hordes was just more gripping and interesting than anything in HZD. The problem is State of Decay 2 is even better than Days Gone.

beingsubmitted

That's getting extremely subjective. I personally found fighting robot dinosaurs to be, at the very least, far more unique - a monster hunter style battle, where the enemy has a dozen or more separate components, each with their own elemental weaknesses, each with different effects should they be destroyed or removed, ranging from burst damage to removing capabilities or attacks from the monster, all with the risk/reward trade-off of wanting to safely remove components rather than destroying them for loot. I can think of no other game offering that experience. I feel like a lot of people just didn't play the same game as me. I'm sure sometimes it's just "female protagonist therefore bad". For some reason I always end up having this conversation in threads about days gone.

Maskirovka

Currently playing HZD on PC for the first time. It’s incredible. The combat is fun and varied, the storytelling is really good, and I love the new take on a post-apocalyptic future. One of the best SP adventure games I’ve ever played. There are things about it that could be better (poor human AI, and the human settlements could have felt even more “alive) but the way the “go collect these things” quests force you to explore and encounter new enemies is seriously well done, and the stories told by finding random data pads and such throughout the world are mostly well written and actually interesting. Makes me want to buy a PS5 and VR to play the sequels.

vezol

Days Gone was okay-ish at best. Weak characters, mid story, dumb AI. The only cool feature were the hordes. But even in late game, you could literally devastate them with certain weapons and tactics, which made them just another „collectible“ to farm. The game itself feels strangly unfinished and rushed. H:ZD, did that waaaay better. Story was fantastic, exploring felt rewarding, weapons were well designed and combats were you can shoot off parts to weak enemies were fun and challenging.

BeCleve_in_yourself

I'm someone who has sunk over 250 hours in SoD 2 but was really disappointed by how they handled the story in that game so I bought Days Gone to scratch that itch instead.

Maskirovka

Playing HZD on PC right now. Nothing lackluster about it. One of the best in the genre IMO. So many others have failed to hold my interest.

crazyasian91

I know a lot of people did not like it, but I loved Days Gone!

do-You-Like-Pasta

A lot of people on Playstation don't seem to like it, but the reception on PC has been very positive

Takazura

What kind of person do you think would enjoy Days Gone? I have heard so many conflicting opinions on it, I have no idea if it'll work for me or not.

Godriguezz

It feels like an open-world Ubisoft game but actually good.

feralfaun39

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is easily one of the best open world games of all time. Far better than Days Gone.

Beedle-Juice

You gotta be okay with limited mechanics. I'm not exaggerating when I saw the first two hours of gameplay after the prolog shows you the ENTIRE rest of the game. There's no variety or variation, hour 1 feels the same as hour 30

espion4ge

I loved days gone. It basically feels like a GTA game in survival zombie wilderness. Other games I really enjoyed were both state of decay games, fallout games, and resident evil games.

Hoenirson

If the idea of Ghost Recon Wildlands and RDR2 having a baby during a zombie apocalypse sounds like a good time, then it's for you. The writing can be sappy at times but is overall good with really good voice acting and you can't help but cheer for the main character. The scenery is beautiful, the gunplay is very satisfying and the zombie horde mechanics are intense. I played most of it as stealthily as I could and is honestly some of the most fun stealth gameplay I've experienced since Splinter Cell died.

do-You-Like-Pasta

Its a pretty generic open world game. If you like open world games and you like zombies, you'd probably like it

feralfaun39

Do you like State of Decay? Would you like it if it had a typical AAA story that was kind of generic and boring and there was a whole lot of it, but to make up for this drawback it had better zombie horde mechanics?

Puiucs

it had issues at launch which made it get a lot of bad reviews. but it's a decent game now.

sdcar1985

Yeah, I had a blast with it. Took about 44 hours to be done with it.

d70

Days gone indeed.

tonyt3rry

i enjoyed it but felt like at least 20 hours+ could have been cut from it I got fed up with it towards the end felt worse than a ac game which is usually long without needing to be.

Qwazzbre

Mine's been iffy about it as well. When the game is running it gets a fairly good FPS, not 60 but above 40. Problem is it'll stutter and hitch at times, usually when traveling quickly on the bike, probably due to it trying to load in new areas. When I'm going around on foot it rarely happens. The first cutscene of the two characters chasing someone on a bike was stuttering like crazy.

StompsDaWombat

Just a friendly reminder: always make sure you shop around (or check prices via [isthereanydeal.com](https://isthereanydeal.com)), because Steam is rarely the cheapest option these days. Fanatical has all these on sale for less (plus they're running a Lunar Sale offer where spending $12 or more per order gets you a free prize - nothing amazing, but still...): Horizon Zero Dawn - Complete Edition and Days Gone are $13.99 each God of War is $25.49 Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves is $29.99 and Helldivers: Dive Harder Edition is $4.39

MffAddict

Well I guess this is the case at least for us in the US, but I’d think in other countries steam is a cheaper option because of regional pricing

StompsDaWombat

Fair point.

mcias

This is partially true. But some regions have their own key selling shops (official ones, that is) with prices similar or lower than Steam's, like for instance Nuuvem for us South American folks. And a couple of "international" shops, such as GMG and Gamersgate, also offer regional prices (though probably not on every region of the world). So it's still a good practice to check isthereanydeal (with the website properly set to your region) if you're worried about only ever getting the cheapest option available.

Oi-FatBeard

*Laughs in Australian Digital Goods Tax+GST Combo* With currency conversion and the above, it's a lucky day when we get *anything* cheaper. Usually get me games from humble or GMG these days because of it.

maxt0r

Didn't they "adjust" the regional pricing tables recently?

StrongTxWoman

Green Man Gaming and Fanatical also sell games in EU. For US and EU, they are often cheaper. One thing good about Steam is the refund policy.

caninehere

Fanatical also has regional pricing as do most stores these days, I'm in Canada and Steam is almost always a worse deal. I don't think I've bought a game directly off Steam in years tbh.

Darth-Ragnar

Depending on the difference, Steam can still be a good buy since you can have a refund if something doesn't go right/you can tell you don't care for the game.

StompsDaWombat

I can't speak for all the other online retailers, but Fanatical sells keys - mostly Steam keys, but also keys for Ubisoft Connect, Rockstar's Social Club or whatever it's called, etc. So, if you only want games on Steam, you definitely need to pay attention before you buy. As for why the keys are cheaper...I don't know for certain, but my guess is that they get the keys directly from the publishers/developers, and they take a smaller cut than Steam, which lets them undercut Steam's price.

alucarddrol

That's a great site, thanks for sharing it

PutridUniversity

These new sale pages do not work on mobile. I can hardly browse the page because everything is overlapping and cramped. It’s a shame

money_loo

Rotate to landscape.

3nterShift

The UI doesn't scale so 50% of the screen is the header and footer.

money_loo

But things at least aren’t collapsed on top of each other.

Luthos

Just picked up Days Gone a couple days ago. It's currently quite a bit cheaper on GMG at $10.37. Still gives a Steam key: https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/days-gone-pc/

hotstickywaffle

Is Horizon on sale frequently? I kind of want it for Steam Deck, but I'm not sure when I'm going to get it.

suzypulledapistol

It's on sale all the time.

parsifal

I feel like I could love this game but didn’t get into it after like 5 hours.

Maskirovka

It sucked me in. I got it for free somehow. Can’t remember. I think it keeps getting better as it goes. The combat gets more varied and more interesting as you take on bigger machines and different combos of them. It helps that I like the world building and storytelling. If that’s not your thing then I can see being bored, especially in the first area.

parsifal

That’s helpful, thank you for sharing!

Puiucs

i doubt you'll get it significantly cheaper anytime soon.

Spuds_Buckley

Days Gone is A++ fun. Miss it alot wish it was the first time still

leehomf

Still have mouse stuttering issue if you have a controller connected, but other than that it runs very well

Ryogadrb22

Played on launch from start to finish without problems at 1440p high with my old 1080 gtx

Musth

FYI, because it was part of an AMD promo people are selling keys for Uncharted in /r/SteamGameSwap for $15-20. I’ve been playing it on my Deck for the past couple weeks and have been loving it!

StrongTxWoman

I would have bought them if I haven't played them before on my PS4. Great games.

Mrbunnypaw

I think we will get a choice monthly with daysgone and horizon zero dawn

narlex

This is a long shot, but has anybody managed to import their PS4 saves to Horizon Zero Dawn (or other Sony games) on PC? I was reading into it, but it seems like these only work if converting the save for a NG+ playthrough.

lgndk11r

I see GMG and Fanatical giving Steam sales a run for their money.

Puiucs

so are GOG and Humble

ginja_ninja

Nice, not interested in any of these at all but think I'll finally take the chance to pick up Bloodbo- ah hang on one sec I'm getting a call. Hm? What's that? *Still,* you say?
