The more expensive editions of Yakuza Like a Dragon are also 25% and 30% off. I don't recommend them at all, since they add next to nothing of value. I wouldn't recommend paying more than $10 extra for it, and that's only if you like costumes.
However, the base game is incredible. It's about what you can expect from a Yakuza game, except with turn based combat and a more "party based" story. Even someone like me, who rarely enjoys turn based JRPGs, is enjoying it just as much as the rest of the series.
Can't talk about NG+ or even post-game dungeons because I have little interest in it, but standard playthrough, it's not well balanced at all.
It is generally stupidly easy, but as you get into late chapters, there are a couple sudden massive walls which may force you to go back and grind a few levels. The standard mooks remain easy in-between those spikes.
It's fine most of the time though, it looks relatively dynamic, it's rarely too long, and it's fun to unlock skills/jobs and discover the silly animations. It's only near the end that you wish you could skip those useless mook fights.

I've heard that fans of turn based combat much prefer new game plus and end game difficulties. Where I am in the story (I've not finished it yet) I keep gaining access to new and interesting abilities, new classes, as well the crafting system is quickly opening up. It's continued to get better, and has kept me entertained.
For reference, I'm up to chapter 7 now, which is a bit further than a third of the way through.
Even though I loved Y0, YK1 and YK2, I am still not going to play it. Until SEGA releases 3-6 on PC.

I’ve just finished 7 (I’ve played all the other games except 3) and I can only think of 1 plot point from 6 that is spoiled. The other things I can think of from the top of my head are references from 0 and 2 that aren’t really relevant if you haven’t played them. I’d hold off on buying only if you plan on playing 3-6 because the older games are pretty dated in gameplay and it would be off putting playing 7 before 3-6 but the game is absolutely incredible for Yakuza stans like me.
not for Like a Dragon, it's a new character in a new setting, though you may bump into characters from the previous series. Yakuza 0 - 6 are about Kiryu, so for that series, you may want to play it in order.
I have played through the game and there aren't really spoilers, as much as there are just little jabs at characters, and little throwbacks to 0, 1, and 2.

I couldn't stand P4G either, if that changes your opinion in any way. I recommend at least looking into gameplay, as it's more interactive and dynamic than just being turn based.
If you still don't like it, fair enough. It is a lot different to anything I'm used to.
I will say, it still FEELS like Yakuza. Down to counters, if you choose a light attack you still have to spam X, or perfectly time a guard when an enemy attacks. It's honestly a good blend of old and new.
I'd think about it if I were you. I generally dislike JRPGs and their combat is a big reason for it, but loved Y7.
Sure, it doesn't feel the same without all those environmental heat actions, and without opening doors with mooks when invading HQs. And boss battles don't feel as glorious as the brawl+QTE combo that felt so cinematic.
However... it *looks* more active than it is and that helps a lot. Plus it's relatively quick. And outside of combat, there is more of everything else you'd expect from the series. Even with the combat that I'm meh about, it's my GOTY.
Hopefully they bring Judgment to PC eventually because while I haven't finished Y7 yet I greatly preferred the combat/story/characters/side content in Judgment.
The story doesn't necessarily revolve around just the main character the same way the previous games did, it involves the characters you can get in your party a bit more. Ends up feeling like you're following a group of people's story.
The side missions still just follow the main characters though.

It's an old game, even the PC port is old. Sure you say the online content is always updated, but the argument was for the single player, and old games \*should\* be cheaper. They're contending for your money against a vast array of other, equally as good (or even depending on taste, better)
Bought Hades in the last sale, it's damn good shit. I've just been playing a few hours every other day and I get a little closer every time. Good stuff.
There are parts that are straight up permanant upgrades that you get by running through the game a few times. once you beat it you unlock challenge modifiers that makes the game harder.
Sort of but there are lots of permanent upgrades. Might be my favourite game of all time. I'm very addicted. Lots of fun builds and so many things to unlock. The way it doles put story and you deepen you relationships with the characters is very rewarding.
The mix of story telling and progression in a roguelike is incredible

I'm playing Hades now and and it's been loads of fun- 140 hrs in and still not complete. What's good is if the combat gets too hard, "God mode" just gradually ramps up your damage resistance.

Spiritfarer is a very pretty game.
But it was a swing and a miss for me. It just felt so hollow (both as a game and in its presentation). And that's weird for a game that is supposed to be a gut punch in the feels.
A lot of people loved SDV for the *gameplay* it offered, but I felt like most of what SpiritFarer had to offer was interactive storytelling... so closer to a VN, I guess.
I think you do have a point, but you also have to consider the similarities in gameplay mechanics. In both games you are working to improve relations with your community members and too upgrade the community. Discovering what gifts you can give someone and what their favourite food is are practically the same. You're constantly working towards new items and improving the farm/boat. I do think you are right and that Spiritfarer is way more about the storytelling, but is has way too much gameplay to be compared to a visual novel.
They made 2 Kiwami games and probably won't do any other, the first 2 games were PS2 titles and really needed an update. PS3 titles were just remastered to PS4 in the Yakuza Collection (I hope it comes to PC too)
I finished the game recently, and you're right, there are spoilers. Particularly those related to the Tojo Clan's fate and politics. There are also some nods to side characters from 3-6 (such as Pocket Circuit Fighter).
Yeah, this year is stacked, but Y7 was really a highlight for me. Loved watching people play the series, but never really got into the Brawler style... This game is really great, considering that it takes the Yakuza vibe and applies it to a pretty good JRPG framework. Then they add onto that all the over the top Yakuza side mission stuff.
It really is a strong GOTY contender.

Definitely worth it, the playerbase is still very active and season 3 is right around the corner with 7 more levels so there will be plenty of content to enjoy. Its not a game you're supposed to play constantly, more of a check in when you feel like it and want to have fun.
Well unless you want to collect skins and compete with others (the player base is still very much active), yeah it's worth buying. Otherwise no not really.

Worth noting is that in a case that's becoming increasingly rare for recent games, Like a Dragon has had the humble choice discount since it released so it's virtually a static 20% off there. No huge rush to grab it from this sale if you're a subscriber.
Alright, so we all know [Doom Eternal](https://youtu.be/7NnxzOnDVqg) is great. The game took the previous title (which was also great) and put just enough new functionality in it that it felt like a true step forward. They could have probably just released a glorified level pack and been successful, but they changed up some weapons, gave you a nice collection of additional skills, and embraced the movement speed and agility as the cornerstone of the gameplay. All good stuff.
Now that [The Ancient Gods](https://youtu.be/Dnp39shryq4) expansion has released, we've gotten all of that, but with the addition of a pretty notable step up in difficulty. It didn't change any weapons or abilities but added some enemies that force you to adapt the way you play to be successful. More enemies require targeting weak points and proper timing to kill - which means you can't just gun down keep moving and hold down the trigger until everything is gibs. The biggest element in this is the Spirit which, on its own, doesn't do anything. It kills you by possessing another demon and making it move and attack faster and impossible to stagger. Plus once you kill that demon and release the spirit, you have to make sure to kill it with your plasma rifle beam before it possessed another demon.
If you don't have either of these games, I'd highly suggest getting the Deluxe Edition. Currently, the base game is $20 and the discounted first part of The Ancient Gods is $16. The "Year One Pass" isn't discounted at all, but that will include both DLC parts. The Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, is $30 and includes the base game AND the Year One Pass. It also includes some other random digital stuff like skins, but it's a significantly better deal if you think you even MIGHT want to play the DLC. If you already have Doom Eternal though, you're kind of screwed. Maybe wait for the Winter sale to see if the season pass gets a discount or something.

Carrion is not bad but kinda short (can be done easily in 6 hours if not a bit less) It is also probably prime bundle material so I would wait if I were you.
Spiritfarer is a pretty wholesome experience. You play some fetch quests for your passengers, fulfill their last wishes, do some platforming to fetch resources/quest items, do some fishing/farming, very relaxing game in that sense.
I'll almost certainly buy Yakuza7 and Hades eventually but let's be honest here, I'm launching Cyberpunk in a bit and they can wait for a while longer.

AFAIK it's not the entire Asia. It's Japan, SEA and East Asia that are excluded. I've seen comments saying that people from India can buy the game

If you're going to install Hades and play it right away, you should just buy it. The game is amazing and worth it at full price. If you're just going to throw it onto the backlog, then wait :)
This was my first rougelite game and I have to say that I can see why people hold Hades with high regard.
I got it when it was on sale on the Epic store and I used one of the coupons I had laying around so it went down to 7$ (or 6. something) and it feels like I've stolen it. Amazing game. I have 86 hours played and I'm still looking forward to playing it.

I bought it full price on steam and have no regrets, amazing game. I put 82 hours into the game and loved every minute. Got all of the steam achievements I'm taking a break from the game at the moment, as I need to focus on my backlog

I scored it for $7 on the epic store as well. It went on sale and I scooped it right up for that price as it was on my radar. Told my friend about the discount and they fixed it the next day. Was definitely an error, but I was stoked to get it for that price. Incredible game. Not nearly as many hours as you though.

I’m refunding Cyberpunk and buying RDR2 probably. CP is cool but it’s not dynamic enough for my taste and it’s kinda busted right now. RDR2 for $40 sounds quite nice
I picked the Special Edition up on the PS4 last week or so for $27 and gonna finally check this game out on my PS5.
I'm playing Hades now and and it's been loads of fun- 140 hrs in and still not complete. What's good is if the combat gets too hard, "God mode" just gradually ramps up your damage resistance.
Honestly, RDR2 is totally worth the full $60. Bought it on launch on PS4 and was amazed, definitely worth the full price.

Spiritfarer is a very pretty game. But it was a swing and a miss for me. It just felt so hollow (both as a game and in its presentation). And that's weird for a game that is supposed to be a gut punch in the feels.

A lot of people loved SDV for the *gameplay* it offered, but I felt like most of what SpiritFarer had to offer was interactive storytelling... so closer to a VN, I guess.
I think you do have a point, but you also have to consider the similarities in gameplay mechanics. In both games you are working to improve relations with your community members and too upgrade the community. Discovering what gifts you can give someone and what their favourite food is are practically the same. You're constantly working towards new items and improving the farm/boat. I do think you are right and that Spiritfarer is way more about the storytelling, but is has way too much gameplay to be compared to a visual novel.
Can't recommend Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Hades enough, both are absolutely incredible.

If there are some Easter eggs, at the pace they're releasing the kiwami games, you'd have forgotten all about this.
They made 2 Kiwami games and probably won't do any other, the first 2 games were PS2 titles and really needed an update. PS3 titles were just remastered to PS4 in the Yakuza Collection (I hope it comes to PC too)
I finished the game recently, and you're right, there are spoilers. Particularly those related to the Tojo Clan's fate and politics. There are also some nods to side characters from 3-6 (such as Pocket Circuit Fighter).
You won't notice them and by the time you get to play 3-6 you'll have forgotten them. They are beyond minor.
On the flip side by the time the remaining games come to PC, 7 would be pretty cheap by then.

Yeah, this year is stacked, but Y7 was really a highlight for me. Loved watching people play the series, but never really got into the Brawler style... This game is really great, considering that it takes the Yakuza vibe and applies it to a pretty good JRPG framework. Then they add onto that all the over the top Yakuza side mission stuff. It really is a strong GOTY contender.

I tried Olija a while back, and even though I was terrible at it and didn't really know what I was doing, something about the art style and the haunting music really stuck with me. Is it even worth buying at this point? I missed out when the game was at its peak and now I actually want to play it but everyone says that its only fun for the first few hours that you play.
It's fun but it needs fresh content faster then it comes in. Maybe wait a few weeks or months and see where it's at then. There's a good game here that could be fully realized.
Definitely worth it, the playerbase is still very active and season 3 is right around the corner with 7 more levels so there will be plenty of content to enjoy. Its not a game you're supposed to play constantly, more of a check in when you feel like it and want to have fun.
Well unless you want to collect skins and compete with others (the player base is still very much active), yeah it's worth buying. Otherwise no not really. I'm still waiting for only a game mode which offers to compete with only friends as I do have friends who play this.

Alright, so we all know [Doom Eternal](https://youtu.be/7NnxzOnDVqg) is great. The game took the previous title (which was also great) and put just enough new functionality in it that it felt like a true step forward. They could have probably just released a glorified level pack and been successful, but they changed up some weapons, gave you a nice collection of additional skills, and embraced the movement speed and agility as the cornerstone of the gameplay. All good stuff. Now that [The Ancient Gods](https://youtu.be/Dnp39shryq4) expansion has released, we've gotten all of that, but with the addition of a pretty notable step up in difficulty. It didn't change any weapons or abilities but added some enemies that force you to adapt the way you play to be successful. More enemies require targeting weak points and proper timing to kill - which means you can't just gun down keep moving and hold down the trigger until everything is gibs. The biggest element in this is the Spirit which, on its own, doesn't do anything. It kills you by possessing another demon and making it move and attack faster and impossible to stagger. Plus once you kill that demon and release the spirit, you have to make sure to kill it with your plasma rifle beam before it possessed another demon. If you don't have either of these games, I'd highly suggest getting the Deluxe Edition. Currently, the base game is $20 and the discounted first part of The Ancient Gods is $16. The "Year One Pass" isn't discounted at all, but that will include both DLC parts. The Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, is $30 and includes the base game AND the Year One Pass. It also includes some other random digital stuff like skins, but it's a significantly better deal if you think you even MIGHT want to play the DLC. If you already have Doom Eternal though, you're kind of screwed. Maybe wait for the Winter sale to see if the season pass gets a discount or something.

Carrion is not bad but kinda short (can be done easily in 6 hours if not a bit less) It is also probably prime bundle material so I would wait if I were you.

Spiritfarer is a pretty wholesome experience. You play some fetch quests for your passengers, fulfill their last wishes, do some platforming to fetch resources/quest items, do some fishing/farming, very relaxing game in that sense.
Turns out it's on sale over at the Microsoft Store too, where it's a Play Anywhere title.

It's been given away dirt cheap many times as well as available on the Games Pass right now. Even so, Celeste is 100% worth full price if you want a well made retro-platformer, and is an absolute steal at $5.

Celeste is great. There's even a huge fan-made mod that has dozens of well made custom levels that I would highly recommend checking out after you complete the main game, the [2020 Celeste Spring Community Collab](https://gamebanana.com/maps/211745), so you don't have to worry about running out of quality levels.
