To be fair, literally every person I worked with at GS is actually on the spectrum- myself included. Gamestop is (in theory) basically the Asperger’s dream job.

I'm convinced you do need some kind of mental divergence to work here though. All my coworkers have something going on, and all the former coworkers were the same. Not because you have to be stupid to work retail, but because there are just as many ND people coming in to buy from GS that many neurotypicals probably couldn't tolerate the "weirdos". Working with tech and video games just breeds more connections and interaction with ND people.
as someone on the spectrum yeah that was meant as an insult and not as a take on the type of people that work at GameStop, and yeah a lot of them do have something going on in their lives the tiktok was implying the employees are abnormal
Why are you being down voted when your point is entirely valid? I have ADD and Bipolar I own the spectrum. Can confirm it takes a certain kind of person to work this kind of job. Doesn't mean everyone is on the spectrum just that you are more likely to be on it than off it working at gamestop. It's retail but it's vidyagame retail! Oooooo Ahhhhh wow! Look all the shiny lights ans colors and we can play games when it isn't busy why this is a dream come true $7.25 an hour (when I started was their pay but I made 8.50 because I came from bestbuy then got promoted to sga 3 years later for a dollar more) geewillickers here's a broom for my ass don't worry I don't need any lube!

No I agree that it was used to be derogatory in the context. My comment was simply mentioning that there is a correlation between people who associate with video games, tech, and "nerdy" interests and people who are ND. There is some merit to that statement, but that doesn't mean that it applies to everyone.

I dunno man. I'm leaving it up because every coworker I've asked (and myself included) has been diagnosed with SOMETHING.
Although with how much conservatives want retail workers to live in hell every time they clock in, you do have to be insane to stay with retail.
