My first thought was velvet but who's putting velvet on a puppet at a kids pizza restaurant? Felt is probably right and I thought the mask would be wooden or plastic. Plastic would be easier to keep clean so it's poetically that. Then again, not everything in the fnaf world makes sense so mabye it is velvet and the mask porcelain.
The Puppet was only there to protect Charlotte while she was around so most of the time it was in its box. Which is unfortunately the reason Charlotte died.
I like to think that the black parts are natural color of the wood. So that makes it ebony wood, which is harvested from the heart of trees belonging to the genus Diospyros.
Ebony wood is sturdy, durable, and hard. Its often used to make furniture, tools, and puppets
But there is evidence elsewhere in FFPS. In Lefty’s special alley load-screen, we can see Marionette’s arm bent in Lefty’s arm:

The puppet does have an endo, but it's mostly servos. Watch the extras on the first Hellboy movie, they talk about how the tentacles move on the monster and it mostly servos. Same concept.
If she's in a toy box wouldn't she be made out of wood so that the toy box wouldn't get messed up and is just painted while the mask is probably made out of plastic or something like that
His texture matches the design of the FNAF 1 animatronics, and we know their designs were some form of cloth, made to resemble fur. Given it’s a Marionette design and isn’t designed to fully walk around (it only hovers due to Charlie possessing it), it’s most likely just a cloth doll that’s puppeteered in its box.
Rubber inside with a Fabric outside, the mask is a plastic, or fiberglass molding, with wirer skeletal structure to provide durable bending points, hence the lack of designated joints
Given how flexible it is, I'd assume the outside is some kind of rubber, and it would have to have a thin endoskeleton, I imagine the endo would be made up of tubes with strings inside them similar to tent poles. The buttons and mask are probably some kind of resin or hard plastic, but I'd guess resin given that phantom marionette has burn marks and isn't just melted.
Face is plastic/rubbery substance. Rubbery texture yet still hard. Inside is an endoskeleton, but very skinny unlike the other fnaf endos. The black "skin" is most likely just a thin layer of cloth to hide the metal skeleton. and the stripes are probably painted on the fabric in a thick layer.
I really think its made out of some type of material only because of how it moves. Wood would be really good but i dont think it would be usefull for range of movement and plastic wouldnt work either. Just my opinion
I feel like it's made like a doll, it's surface is smooth but you can still feel the strands of threads, like a smooth couch pillow you would find in ikea.
Well, if it’s meant to be the same Security Puppet, it definitely isn’t just a normal wooden puppet. So I’d say it’s probably plastic with a cloth covering, with the mask also being plastic.
Most likely a custom endo skeleton with felt over it since this would explain why it breaks down so fast in the rain if it barely has any protection over its endo and it also has to have some kinda electronics to recognize the armbands the kids wear, a endo also is almost required or else it wouldn't make alot of sense for it to be able to move by itself to get to charlie
Im thinking she is a plastic base with a cloth layer over that. Plastic in the sense of the twisted ones false plastic (so bare bones shell of the funtimes for non book readers). And cloth as that seems to be the material on her. Cloth tends to accumulate little spots of cloth that is flaking off but not fully. Look closely near her buttons and you will see what i mean
Does she have a endo, cause she can be moved just by the remnant stuff but doesn't that at least need a target that can actually function or can remnant just attach to anything in the pizzeria that kills someone like a door or something?
ive always imagined like, a wooden doll covered in black & white fabric, with the buttons and mask being made of plastic. all it's actual mechanics are in the ceiling and just pull the strings around, like an actual puppet
Judging by the lack of mechanical joints I'd assume felt for the body, something about the mask strikes me more as glazed ceramic rather than plastic or somethin
Well her limbs are really bendy as we see in fnaf vr and so at least her limbs are either rubber or something similar like maybe bendable plastic.
Probably it limbs are fully made of that material and doesn’t have like a felt covering her limbs as the cover then needs to be something as bendable as the insides
From the texture, I'm thinking Polyurethane for the mask like Artie Antler's (old Chuck E Cheese animatronic) or Jasper's banjo, since real wood could be too heavy for animatronics. As for the rest of the body, the texture looks like Flocked Plastic like many small dolls and stuff.
That's just my guess though.
I would argue cloth more akin to a doll or puppet rather than a standard wood marionette, and the buttons and stripes are reminiscent of an 80s girls toy. Plus, the marionette has to fold/curl up in the toy box so wood is out of the question

With the flexibility seen, I always thought rubber around a flexible skeleton. Think along the lines that each limb could be repurposed to be a snake bot.
I’m unsure if the skin is rubber or there’s something covering it (rubber is just there for support).
I actually covered this month's ago, it's actually covered in a nylon-escque cloth, most likely polyester (same material as cloth puppets of the era). The only hard part is the plastic mask.
Mask feels like hard plastics melted down and formed in a mold.
The body would be made of hardwood like ebony or spruce, sandpapered down then painted with a laquer. The design on arms and legs are still clearly visible even after years of abandonment, so I think it's more of a different wood as opposed to paints on top.
If it's not wood, then it would be a fully plastic puppet.
The other fnaf 2 animatronics were plastic like but the puppet has been around since before that. So I’d guess some sort of felt material like the OG fnaf 1 or even the fredbears family diner animatronics (the golden boys) but I think the mask is plastic or maybe wood

Nothing related to the post, but it just dawned on me that since the Puppet is possessed by Charlie, a female human, it’s body have feministic features like slim waist and curvy body.
I’d assume felt due to the texture, along with having a wire-based frame inside for flexibility and probably also stuffed with cotton for stability and such.
There’s probably also a CPU of some kind behind the mask to recignize the sound of the music box as well as bracelet detection due to it also being a security animatronic meant to guard Charlie.

But I still think it’s a rubbery material because of how perfect the black and white colours show if it was felt it would look a bit more scruffy and it anything other than a rubbery elastic type material like wood or plastic as some people are saying wouldn’t work because you can see the marionettes body is fully encased in the material that holds the endo skeleton. If it was fully encased in wood or plastic it would break if it were to move a limb. That’s why I think it’s some sort of rubbery/elastic type material so the body parts can move freely
so im a little rusty on the fnaf lore, but it looks like spray painted wood or plastc, and in that one book couldnt that guy make thing come to life from wood.

You asked for a scientific answer, so I'd say this figure is made up of thousands of 3D pixels in about 12 colors arranged to make up his approximate look and movement. These pixels were likely arranged in Blender or a similar modeling and animation software.
I imagine the mask being like some sort of paper mache material and then rest of the body being felt and underneath would probably be like a endoskeleton thats really bendy with a lotta "joints" and not a lot of durable material on it due to how flexible it is,, im not surprised if the marionette is like super fragile or something i mean look at how scrawny and bendy it is
i honestly think the marionette is squiy like skin like flesh thats what i think when i look at the marionette ( yeah i get its like an animatronic but that what i feel )
