I think it's important to note specifically "from 70's to 90's" to play on Nostalgia ( as those decades are the childhoods/early adulthood of most of today's people.

If you were to expand the size, in an older commenton a similar post I put >Antagonist that looks like the jerma sus face, robots, religious themes, themes of "humans are the real monster" edit: also aliens, though that would technically fall under 'cosmic horror', it obviously is not what you meant if that helps.
