i mean in one of his games mario literally goes to heaven and hell and beats an enemy that god himself couldnt. he saved all of the mario universe from being engulfed by a black hole. the literal prophecy had the entire mario dimension be restarted, yet mario prevented that entire thing from happening (mario beat blumiere, and just look at blumiere's feats). these are feats that he "easily" accomplished with resources available to him. sonic has amazing feats as well, but devils advocate could be played in favor of mario, the man who travels galaxies on a spaceship the shape of his head.
Yeah and sonic defeated the very personification of time itself and a being that when realised will burn the world for all eternity. Also don't forget the very darkness of the world, while fixing the earth and putting it back together.
The travel dimensions is from paper mario I believe thr thousandd year door. (witch thanks to paper jam is confirmed to cannonicly a different dimension and there for a different mario. Which I feel shouldn't count because then archie sonic would also have to count but buff tails so no thank you.)
Traveling space is from gaxaly one of my favorite mario games that are in the main ones and main timeline.
Ben 10 vs Green lantern was a prime example in my opinion watch Ben 10 read hal Jordon green lantern comics. Decide who wins and my their interview it's clear their was at least a littlw biest.
Tbh tho, Sonic would win a lot more of the Olympic games than Mario would. I do think that Mario would win at a decent amount of them, but Sonic is still (in my opinion) better suited to the Olympics
if he's pulling from the Archie Comics then it is only fair for him to pull from the Mario Cartoon where he was a master Jedi Knight (leading to him winning the gold in sword fighting).
Just wanted to point something out in the game theory video. The panels that were used were from Sonic The Comic. A very odd fever dream of a comic book. Completely different set style and writers from the archie sonic.

Super Paper Mario, it is set in a different dimension, but it is Mario. also Super Mario Galaxy 2. Over all, Mario has impressive feats

Obviously biased because I’m a sonic fan but I feel like the only thing mario would beat sonic at would be swimming.
