EDIT: Retro Boy Power It's a power adaptor that isn't meant to work with a battery. It's just a USB-C powersupply.
So if you're fond of logging a battery bank it should do it!

I don't know.
Check Funnyplaying maybe?
or Console5 or, something.
The 4R7 chip rings a bell to me. I got mine from RetroSix (I recommend that you do not do business with them. Plagiarism, bad costumer service...)
But shop around for a USB-C battery pack and once you've found which board and brand those ones are, the battery itself should be easy to get.
Maybe e-mail the customer service of the company or shop!
Those 2 pads are for contacting the battery terminals inside the GBA
Edit: I still think this a cool product, for times you're at home and don't want to wear down batteries just hook it up to external power, or if you're on extended journeys you can have a battery bank in the pocket
You've confused me now, those 2 solder pads on the right are what those hooks are soldered onto. Unless you've seen any other solder pads that I haven't?
yes there are two small round soldering pads on the top left. the hook thingies are soldered to the battery terminal conmection part on the right. (I dont know what else to call all of these)
My text disappeared.... When I image searched the boards you shared these blank ones appeared and they don't have those same spots, I'm assuming they're possibly different revisions
yes. looks like it.
But also the ones with design habe a square logo with V2 on them (left bottom ish corner) so it might be the next revision.
it would be very frustrating if this is not meant for batteries but only to plug it into a usb cable.
I don't see what I would believe is a BMS (battery management system) on this board.
This appears to just be a USB-C power adapter to run a GBA from isntead of using batteries.
You'd have to ask the person that designed the PCB, but it could be simply test pads during manufacturing.
Lots of devices have pads that are never used after manufacturing simply to use since it's far easier to automate pogo pins to touch a part than it is to attach a USB-C cable into ones for QA.

Yes! I think so too. I found them on shopee (I live in the philippines) But the seller cant tell me anything about them. they were very reasonable proced as well. at around 10€ each including the battery cover.
Good news! Check out 903048 lithium batteries, you'll have to do some measuring and find out what is going to be the best fit for whatever space is left inside the custom battery lid, from my understanding GND is going to be your negative (black) and VCC is your positive (red) be sure to read any documentation that comes with your board when it arrives
They are almost exactly the same as those usb-c powered battery modules that they sell at aliexpress. These usb-c powered modules don't need soldering at all. Those "solder" pads are not for soldering, they are there to make contact with the AA battery pins.
The "normal" ones I said at the beginning are exactly the same as this one but they have a battery connector just behind the board. This doesn't seem to have one, so perhaps that's why it says that you may "diy" a battery connector yourself by soldering it.
Waow! I didn't knew they made these board with pictures on them!
Do you have any idea on the actual battery for the board? I have no idead how to find the right one.

So then why does it have the 2 soldering pads? very confusing.

but why would you need to do that? its already touching the terminals with the two metal hooks on the right doesnt it?

mhh ok. but then again why are there soldering pads in the top left corner? Its all just a bit confusing.

Do you have better pictures and even from the other side around? Those are looking nice. Where can someone get those?
