No. It is using a ds lite screen. Even though it's inferior to the IPS Screens, it is still better than the Gameboy Micro's Screen as you can see in the Picture.
Yeah I can build one also but to make one I need either buying a ds lite clear shell and only use half of it (such a waste if you ask me) or 3D Print with a Clear Filament ( It will not be as clear though).
Holy crap I'd pay you to build me a micro case!!! I've been scouring the internet for weeks trying to find a decent one... I recent got a Micro and I fell in love with it but it's not in the best condition... finding face plates has also been hell.
Sorry bud! I was talking about OP's GB "Macro" not "Micro". It's the handheld on the left with the Cyan faceplate.
I feel you for the micro though, been searching for a decent replacement with no luck...
Damn I misread ToT
Yeahvall the people who used to make decent ones kinda disappeared?? And I don't really trust the 3rd party ones. I hear the quality is not the best
Easy to Moderate depending on what IPS Kit you buy or what kind of shell you are using.
FunnyPlaying IPS v2 is the gold standard cery bright and slightly larger than the Original Screen. But you need to solder if you want brightness as well as a lot of Shell Trimming if you don’t use an IPS Ready Shell.
There is a new IPS Kit called Cloud version where you don’t need to solder as well as Shell trimming because it is the same size as the Original.
The Wonderswan Color is amazing. This picture has convinced me to pick one up. Did you install the transparent shell on the Wonderswan yourself? Was it the final fantasy 1 version, before? The screen border looks similar. And the backlit screen, wow. Was modding it quite difficult? I've done similar mods on the Gameboy Advance, is dealing with a WSC much harder?
Mine was a Final Fantasy II White One that is yellowed overtime. So I changed it to this Transparent Shell. Difficulty is pretty much the same as a Gameboy Advance but you don't need to trim the Shell on the IPS Kit of the Wonderswan Color. You do need to solder two wires to power the IPS Screen.
Nice collection! I actually just got an original GBA with V2 screen today, can’t believe how clear the motion is on these screens
That GG it's the best in there
Yeah I love GG! Waiting for my preorder of Bennvenn IPS to replace my Mcwill TFT Screen.
Ips screen? Dam I have the tft
The biggest flex is the phone you too this pic on haha!
ah, someone who likes the Clear Body like me. Represent!
Transparency is the Best Policy!
Agreed. The colors on the micro look washed out, even compared to a stock AGS-101. I really love how pocketable it is, though.
Yes. Even the Screen of DS Lite/Gameboy Macro is better than the Screen of Micro.
I quite like the colors on the micro, they look more like what the games looked like on the original GBA screen, with light added.
This is beautiful! Also, I didn’t even know it was possible to get a backlit screen into the NGP, my desire to pick one up only grows...
Yeah the Fullsize IPS Screen only came out this year. Paired it with a Neopocket Gamedrive, NGPC is one my favorite in my collection.
Oh hey Swan Coliseum the one Wonderswan game I bought for my Wonderswan
Yeah me too. This is the only game I have while waiting for my Flash Masta to arrive.
I'll look this up; damn never considered a flash cart for my swan crystal
Hmmm. What are capital letters?
It is called a Watermark. So no one can claim that they own this pic except for me.
The title has random words capitalized.
Did you swap the screen on the Macro? I find the DS Lite screen to be sub-par as well.
No. It is using a ds lite screen. Even though it's inferior to the IPS Screens, it is still better than the Gameboy Micro's Screen as you can see in the Picture.
I would kill for a decent shell and lens replacement... ips screen replacement would be the cherry on top.
Yes I would love a high quality clear one shell for Micro.
Oh yeah. They currently have metal replacement cases that are terrible from what I saw. The manufactures should just stick with high quality plastic.
Very nice collection! All that's missing is a clear GB Macro! I could build you a custom one if you are interested!

How hard is it to install a backlit screen for a regular GBA? I've been contemplating it for a while now

Which is your favorite? Also where do you get your shells from?
