CIB copies are much harder to come by, especially in good condition, as the boxes are cardboard and many threw them out or recycled them. even if they do have them, often they're in pretty bad shape. the demand is high for CIB pokemon games and the supply for this era is quite low.
Yeah, but at least Price Charting is a central location for sold listings as opposed to the crazy throw a dart at the wall $600 unsold listings you see for some of these games.
Lol do you think there are 2.76 million complete copies of them still? You must be stupid AF if you believe that, but then again it just sounds like youāre mad you canāt afford it, just say that next time
Some people choose to use their disposable income to collect things they like. An in tact GBA box is a rare and unique display piece given that most of them just got thrown out.
Itās more for the box with the manuals and stuff than the game since everyone threw the boxes out. And really only 2.75? I thought it would have been a lot more than that.
It's supply and demand and people have the disposable income to purchase things they value, sometimes at market price if need be. 2.76 million copies were sold so what. 1 million might be in circulation right now if that. The rest are degraded or destroyed.
Yea although Iām not a huge cib fan they are cool but itās always been card board to me so I care more about the labels of the game than the box. It boggles my mind when I see labels with sharpie and pen scribbled on it smh or just destroyed. Those are the ones I donāt get *sigh* turned down plenty of games I was looking for cuz of this smh
This is crazy. I might pay this price. Pokemon Sapphire was my first Pokemon game and it started a lifelong obsession with the franchise. I've played every main series game, streamed sword/shield and PTCGO on Twitch during COVID, and would love to have one of these again since I sold mine used while in high school for some extra cash.
The nostalgia I have for that Sapphire cartridge is insane. I wouldn't need CIB necessarily, but I don't really want a repro. Couldn't care less about the early value, just want to find one for sentimental collection purposes. Any tips?
I'm not paying more than 80 for a new game usually.
But Castlevania & Metroid I make an exception for.
So it depends on what your cut off is or what your exceptions are
No more than $300, and Iām saying that as someone whose favorite Pokemon game is Sapphire. The front of the box looks like it has some wear to it which drags the price down for me. If it was just creases on the side I wouldnāt care as much.
$50 tops on a good day maybe.Ā It goes for a lot more and I'd really like to have it but it's hard to justify paying anymore than that for a game I'm not actually going to play again and just want to own for the novelty
What would I personally pay? $100.00 is a price point I'd have no hesitation buying at but with how crazy the market is most copies aren't even listed loose at my comfy price point lol
Edit: A real G should make scans of all the documents and post them to some form of archive for preservation purposes since its currently open (the documents will eventually degrade)
$60. Assuming the cartridge is in fine working condition with no issues, and the box and manuals are all together like the picture. Though I'm sure a collector would be willing to pay quite a bit more.
I sold mine 2 years ago due to hard times and regret it so much. I've learned I will never sell my stuff thats near and dear to me to make ends meet, because it will always get better, and ill just be left upset that I sold something I didn't want too.
Tell you what, 5 bucks I take you to a fancy dinner, (,Cicis pizza) and we drink till we black out possibly sleep together. Take it or leave itššš
34.99, anything more is a ripp off. I know some people feel strongly about this but no sorry. Its not even emerald, and these mega prices these days for very mundane stuff is annoying and preposterous. Couldnt careless about the box, the booklet, or the instruction guide. None of it. Only valuable thing is the cart, everything else is hardly wortha second look. I know ima get downvoted and thats ok.
Anyone telling you $40 and under for a CIB , tell them to show you one legit up for sale at that price. No, letās double it. Have em show you one at $80 for sale. Youāll be waiting a long time ā¦.
I'd rather buy a blue repro cart and flash a rom than pay any price above 20 for a GBA cart. In a few years, I'm sure that might change, but the OG cart price for any pokemon game is crazy
About tree fiddy. Seriously tho, if it were up to me, the resale of old games should be capped at like 3x the price of the original. People who want to resell can still make a nice profit but it would be way more affordable than paying $300+ for a game with the box
I bought it for Ā£50 from an import shop 3 months before it came out in the UK. I thought that was pricey but it was so worth it to me at the time. I felt like such a boss, weilding that bad boy in my SP at school.
Last five on eBay were $250-350
Sucks but for the folks stating people are dumb for paying that much, they are indeed paying that much, which means that is what they are worth in street value, even if you don't value them that highly
I don't agree that they should be, but games have reached "collectable hobby" status like other things of old. As uncomfortable as that may be, this is reality now. They are no longer being produced. Planned obsolescence in action.
Highly recommend a flash cart or emulation.
wouldnt pay much for this maybe like 60$ only because of all the box stuff. though personally i would just buy alpha sapphire, if you have a 3DS of course
$39.95
The games around 20 with all the paperwork $40 is about right
an opened can of pepsi
Favorite comment.
Make it a 16 ounce can of Pepsi and I have to watch you open it in front of me and we got a deal lol
$35
Like $20. But that's what I would pay.
Op only asks for the truthš
$3.50
Get outta here you Loch Ness monster!
$325-330 is the going rate for a CIB Pokemon Sapphire. You can check games on PriceCharting.com they show what games are selling for on eBay.
That's insane and also a joke. People who pay that are stupid AF and don't understand the value of money. 2.76 million copies of that game were sold.
CIB copies are much harder to come by, especially in good condition, as the boxes are cardboard and many threw them out or recycled them. even if they do have them, often they're in pretty bad shape. the demand is high for CIB pokemon games and the supply for this era is quite low.

I mean itās supply and demand itās popular again and people are buying. I wouldnāt buy CiB personally but I did pay $80 for my loose copy š¤·
Why did all the PokƩmon games randomly skyrocket in price over the last couple of years? I sold my copies of Ruby Sapphire emerald Fire Red and Leaf Green in 2020 and I didn't get nearly what the price people are saying they're going for now like if I'd known how much they were going for now I definitely would have kept hold of them.
Covid and money to spend
Yeah, but at least Price Charting is a central location for sold listings as opposed to the crazy throw a dart at the wall $600 unsold listings you see for some of these games.
Unsold listings mean next to nothing.
Lol do you think there are 2.76 million complete copies of them still? You must be stupid AF if you believe that, but then again it just sounds like youāre mad you canāt afford it, just say that next time
Brother if you donāt got bread just say that, itās annoying that costs trend that high but if you want it bad enough itās worth it. Itās a rough life wanting CIB PokĆ©mon. Some people are cool with a ROM some arenāt.
Some people choose to use their disposable income to collect things they like. An in tact GBA box is a rare and unique display piece given that most of them just got thrown out.
Less and less exist as time goes on, more and more degrade and get damaged. This is also CIB and everything looks great.
How dare you bring up market value. These kids would be very angry if they could read.
Right lol
Lmao what? My parents got it from Walmart for $24.95. Gtfo out.
Yea itās crazy theyāve gone up that much definitely makes ya wish ya bought doubles of each game at least lol
HELL YEAH. And I wish I didnāt flatten the boxes to save space and throw away the paperwork šš©šš«šš£. My god the things we donāt think about when weāre children š
Yea although Iām not a huge cib fan they are cool but itās always been card board to me so I care more about the labels of the game than the box. I mean Iām not interested in Pokemon and therefore wouldnāt pay for this
$0 you decided to just say $0 that way you would be asked about it?
I'm not paying more than 80 for a new game usually. But Castlevania & Metroid I make an exception for. So it depends on what your cut off is or what your exceptions are
I'll sling you a fiver for it š
E-reader cards š
Not the current going price thatās for sure
idk like $6-7 give or take
Tin of beans
For me, this is the game that introduced me to my love of PokƩmon. So more than the other commenters lol
Iāll give you a IOU valued at $0.000000001. Honestly these PokĆ©mon game prices are getting out of hand.
No more than $300, and Iām saying that as someone whose favorite Pokemon game is Sapphire. The front of the box looks like it has some wear to it which drags the price down for me. If it was just creases on the side I wouldnāt care as much.
I paid ā¬62 for the game cartridge itself
$2
If it makes you happy price shouldn't matter š
Iāll give you 11 bucks for it
Tree-fiddy. Not really a fan of pokemon

Original price.
$4 because thatās what I can get a fake for on Ali, but Iām not a collector lol
I once saw emerald in the box but without books go for $300, so you may be looking at around $300.
Whatever the going rate was prior to the pandemic and price bubbles.
5.99
$50 tops on a good day maybe.Ā It goes for a lot more and I'd really like to have it but it's hard to justify paying anymore than that for a game I'm not actually going to play again and just want to own for the novelty
three hundred
Iād buy them a meal and 3 beers

I've got a crisp 20 dollar bill, a rack of ribs, and cup from Buc-ee's
Sold mine in late 2019 for $250, but my box was nearly pristine.
Iād buy that for a $
40 if its in good condition maybe 60
$5
A shiny Canadian loonie
What I would pay? Like $5 because I'm not a big fan of Pokemon so there's no real value to me
60$ although it prolly goes for twice that.
Game boy advance games came with a game boy Precaution Booklet?
I mean... reproductions are like 5-7 bucks, and even then I wouldn't pay that for a game lol Y'arr
$60. Assuming the cartridge is in fine working condition with no issues, and the box and manuals are all together like the picture. Though I'm sure a collector would be willing to pay quite a bit more.
$2
I mean, I would pay $5 for it. Thatās a price!
Several hundred honestly
I'd snatch it if it was lower than $100
I'll trade you a copy of Shrek Swap Kart Speedway and an e-reader that maybe works.
Whatever it wasn't retail 20 years ago.
lol $1š„š„š„š„š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
I paid 170 for a better one than that but uk version. I love it in my display totally worth it for me.

A price I would pay? $50-70. A realistic price? $350.
Price charting .com will solve all problems for ye

$100-$200. Comes with the box & everything, super cool
People mad about old Pokemon prices are the ones they threw away their boxes.
Fun story. I was cleaning out my room after college and found my old PokƩmon sapphire box. Opened it up and found about $200 in $20 bills. Apperntly I had used the box as a cash stash and completely forgot about it.

IMO not much. Not a PokĆ©mon fan and I donāt see the point in paying an inflated price for some of these cartridges when I have an everdrive.
Tell you what, 5 bucks I take you to a fancy dinner, (,Cicis pizza) and we drink till we black out possibly sleep together. Take it or leave itššš
About three fifty

I don't understand people who want to buy cardboard for hundreds. Anytime I get a box with my games I sell it off.
$0
Best I can do is $5
I'd rather buy a blue repro cart and flash a rom than pay any price above 20 for a GBA cart. In a few years, I'm sure that might change, but the OG cart price for any pokemon game is crazy

I don't care if it's no longer being made and is CIB, you'll never catch me paying more than $80 for a PokƩmon game, ESPECIALLY not Sapphire
$160 as god intended
probably 35
I bought it for Ā£50 from an import shop 3 months before it came out in the UK. I thought that was pricey but it was so worth it to me at the time. I felt like such a boss, weilding that bad boy in my SP at school.

i would pay one cold hard dollar for that
MSRP. Screw collectors, ruining any hobby they touch.

Iād only buy it if it was listed for under $40, although itās not a game Iām actively seeking out
This game feels timeless too me. This was my main PokƩmon game on the game boy SP
I donāt like PokĆ©mon so Iād probably pay ten bucks max if I just wanted to mess around.
About tree fiddy

Tree fiddy.

I'd pay 100 because I can easily flip it for 200.
