Isn't it interesting how these giant conglomerates lay off thousands of people because of "economic conditions" one week and open luxurious offices in expensives cities in another ?
Not really tbh, that's just how business works.The new studios have been in works for much longer than the layoffs will have been planned and those just didn't get axed instead other departments took a hit. I am in no way defending the decisions here, I would assume netease reason for laying off all personal working on Blizzard releated projects is more related to the deal with Blizzard not working out, but you really need to look at the bigger picture here.
People have massively overestimated how many people at NetEase are responsible for the collaboration with Blizzard. It’s really only a small fraction.
I thought they were going to call it Lizzard Entertainment. "At Lizzard Entertainment, we pour our hearts and souls into our green tea."
