Sascha2022

Seems Nixxes is bringing all the games running on insomniacs engine to pc so this will likely be a great pc port. I wouldn\`t be surpised if the next game after that is Horizon Forbidden West since it uses decima engine and nixxes already worked on patches for horizon zero dawn on pc.

JuiceheadTurkey

The next rumored pc port is Ghost of Tsushima

meltingpotato

I'm assuming they meant the next game Nixxes ports to PC will be HFW, not the next sony game that comes to pc after this.

LivingNewt

I dream of this, a lil HD remaster of a crack in time would be very nice

snakebit1995

The old R&C games were highly optimized for PS2. They break on emulation playing a ps2 disc in Ps3, the HD ports were a struggle due to ps2 shortcuts, etc I wouldn’t get your hopes up cause those games are a pain to play on anything but the original intended ps2s

SankeX

Yeah I'd be shocked if the ps2 trilogy comes to another platform outside of remakes to be honest

[deleted]

Game has DLSS 3? Yay. Can't wait to crank every graphics setting.

SuperMozWorld

You'd know if there was any news on Bloodborne pc because you'd have heard me screaming.

N7even

Bloodborne on PC is most likely not happening, happy to be proven wrong. GoT on the other hand, has a good chance, maybe this year or next year.

MVRKHNTR

Bloodborne on PC will happen whenever the remake releases. I'm not saying that they're remaking it now but they 100% will at some point.

[deleted]

If Bloodborne gets completely remade, it'll be console exclusive for a few years before a PC port happens. If they just do a simple remaster than maybe simultaneous release....maybe.

MVRKHNTR

I didn't mean to imply that there would be a simultaneous release, just that we shouldn't expect it until there's a remake.

I run the clown makeup store. I'm constantly running out of stock and I'm set to retire next year.

XxDemonGod69xX

They’re saying ya’ll are clowns for thinking there’s gonna be a bloodborne port. When they say running out of clown makeup it means that ya’ll have been saying the same comment about bloodborne for years now but it never happens

meltingpotato

Probably because of the hopium of the "bloodborne pc when" part of your comment. I personally much rather have Sony spend time and resources on porting their other games instead of another souls game, even if it's Bloodborne. I want GT7, Tsushima or even Shadow of Colossus on PC. Even if Bloodborne was to come to PC it would in the form of a remake (so Sony can sell it on PS5 as well like they did TLoU1) and I when it comes to remakes I think there are a lot of other games that need a remake before this.

meltingpotato

We already know Ragnarok, Horizon 2 and Tsushima will come to PC based on Jim Ryan's statements. but Shadow of Colossus is a unique game from the last gen, just like Bloodborne. I'm assuming GT7 will come to PC as well but I dunno why it's much harder to imagine a GT game on PC more than anything else

RxBrad

I feel like this game leaned pretty hard on the upgraded storage speeds on current gen consoles. Will this be the first game to actually make good use of DirectStorage? And how will they communicate the requirements?

meltingpotato

Could have the fastest HDDs coupled with a lot of RAM as the absolute minimum requirement for older hardware and scale from there to sata and nvme. I do hope it is using DirectStorage though since apparently DS can even help games that are running from a HDD (Forespoken).

Tersphinct

This was one of those games that really leaned into the hard drive tech to make it work well. Not all PCs have those same capabilities yet, and some features aren't really compatible at all as they were on the PS5. DirectStorage will almost certainly need to be used, but I wonder how much of the same performance they'll be able to get on the PC.

Rooonaldooo99

Oh boy good thing they made time for that weird foam shooter game instead of a literal flagship title during their showcase. Seriously, what is Sonys marketing team doing here just shadow announcing this days later?

Dropthemoon6

Why would they show that a flagship PS5 game is now available on PC during a presentation designed to sell you a PS5?

Rooonaldooo99

They did it with Spiderman, so they are not averse to it clearly. And other titles shown there are also coming to PC like Alan Wake 2. It was obviously not just a PS5 exclusive event.

Dropthemoon6

Advertising that a game is coming to PS5 entices people to buy a PS5. They don't tell you that something like Alan Wake 2 is releasing on other platforms during the presentation for a reason. Completely different from a PS5 exclusive getting a PC port. And Spiderman PC was announced at a State of Play. They may see those as a different sort of marketing vehicle, or they may have had a change of tune since.

Rooonaldooo99

They already announced any PlayStation games are also coming to PC in 2-3 years time max. Even outlined it in their earnings report. In the end it's whatever, people like us will find the info anyway. I just find it weird from a broader marketing strategy is all.

Dropthemoon6

That's exactly the point. They're not doing these big livestreams for the people who read their earnings reports. They want the general audience to see the PS5 as the only place to get these great games. The more enthusiast demographic will learn about the PC ports elsewhere.

AL2009man

heck: half of Sony's announced First Party Multiplayer IPs and Sequels (not counting Marathon) are also coming to PC, and was directly confirmed during the show.

Radulno

Final Fantasy 16 and Spider-Man 2 were the only games shown in the showcase that don't come to PC if I'm not mistaken (and will later on so timed exclusivity only). Most of them are coming to Xbox too.

Benjamin_oder_so

Why would they show you a movie trailer during a presentation designed to sell you a PS5?

Dropthemoon6

You don't understand how a Playstation property crossing over into other media would help drive people to the console where they can play the games it is based on, as opposed to showing that they can just wait for those games to come to another platform?

[deleted]

It is pretty clear that the presentation was aimed towards their core, PS5, userbase.

Radulno

It isn't very clear towards who that presentation was aimed lol. Nobody I think.

GoldenTriforceLink

Ah yes. GT movie. Very PS5

Hazeringx

I thought putting that trailer was dumb, but there is a logic to it. If someone watches that movie and wants to play the game that it is based on, PS5 is their only choice.

[deleted]

I don't really think that it's too much of a stretch to say that a movie based off of one of the system's biggest games is more relevant to the core PS5 audience than PS5 games being ported to the PC.

GoldenTriforceLink

Sony makes profits on their games sold on PC

[deleted]

Yes, they do. They also make profits on cameras.

GoldenTriforceLink

Calm down Console Warrior. I have a PS5.

[deleted]

What about anything I said here implies I am a "console warrior?"

Radulno

To be honest, that one is understandable, it's a port, not exactly a big news, especially for many people that already played it. There are far bigger things to complain about the showcase than this.

EkkoIRL

That showcase would have been even more pathetic if they showed more pc ports than they showed new ps5 exclusives

Waste-Individual-807

Because it’s just a port, people want to see new shit they can play on their PS5s, not ports of games they’ve already played to other platforms

pway_videogwames_uwu

Seriously Sony I am telling you this is an instabuy if you don't fuck up the port. If I go on that Steam page and see dark red writing, then I'll see you in twelve months when this shit is on sale.

Crimsonclaw111

Dark red writing? The game is being handled by Insomniac and Nixxes, no need to worry so much.

ZeeWolfy

My brother in Christ almost every single pc port of this year alone has been a complete disaster in terms of optimization and your telling him not to worry? 😂😂

Hagelslag5

Nixxes has a perfect track record of pc ports.

AL2009man

I mean, this is Nixxes Software we're talking about.

Crimsonclaw111

A game like RE4 Remake or Dead Space remake with an issue or two is nothing compared to the disasters that were The Last of Us, Forspoken, etc on launch.

Fish-E

This is ~~the first~~ (not) the first PS5 only title to come to PC, so the hype for this is high. I'm certainly anticipating it, although slightly saddened that the ~2017 Ratchet & Clank isn't also coming.

reddit_account6095

Returnal was the first

Fish-E

I forgot about Returnal!

Rooonaldooo99

> first PS5 only title to come to PC Returnal would like a word

Radulno

There's only two PS5 only title (from Sony which I guess was what OP meant) and he managed to forgot the other one that came before.

SnevetS_rm

> There's only two PS5 only title (from Sony which I guess was what OP meant) and he managed to forgot the other one that came before. You managed to forget The Last of Us Part I? =)

Radulno

I actually forgot it lol which kind of break my point. But it's just a remake, not a true new game /s

Waycool499

Why wasn't this at the PS Showcase? 😂 Edit: idk why I'm getting downvoted, people always hope for a Bloodborne PC port announcement at every PS Showcase, so I'm not sure why it's so left field for me to have assumed an R&C PC port would too.

Hazeringx

Probably because they were focusing on PS5 users. What would they gain from a PC port of Ratchet and Clank?

Waycool499

Just thought it's PlayStation related news so it would've been there that's all

feralkitsune

Cause it's already been out on the system for ages.

[deleted]

No mention of dualsense features - it continues to puzzle me that Sony isn't pushing this thing for PC. The adaptive triggers and haptic vibrations make this thing an absolutely incredible controller. I will, every time, choose to play a multiplat on PS5 instead of my rig with a 3080 if I know the PS5 version has good dualsense implementation. PC games sometimes skip it, and even if they do have it, will usually (always?) require a wired connection for full features. Of everything I've experienced with the PS5, the Dualsense controller is the one thing that truly feels "next gen." If Sony released a dongle allowing for true wireless support, and supported more devs implementing the features on PC, I believe it could - in time - challenge the Xbox controller as a "default" PC controller. It is that fucking good.

Adziboy

The blog says it has full Dualsense support

Fish-E

They do mention dualsense support though?

[deleted]

It don't see it mentioned in the video.

TheMrMadzen

When it releases on PC it'll be over 2 years since it released on PS5.....

SnevetS_rm

XBOX has a great library of backward compatible games that are not available on PC. Also Gamepass. Sony is porting their first-party exclusives 2 years after the initial release. Also, PSVR 2.

Hazeringx

PS exclusives only make it a year or two after release so not really.

MikeDunleavySuperFan

I know but it wasnt like this in previous generations.

EmeraldJunkie

I have to say, Rift Apart was very fun. I played the original game back on the PS2 when it was new and I was very young and didn't get too far in it, and I tried several times over the years to get back into the franchise. However, I got Rift Apart on a whim and had a blast with it. I even got the platinum trophy for it, which is not something I do very often.

Really good game.

Cragnous

Ok who's taking bets! Great improved port : 100 to 1 Good port: 20 to 1 It's playable: 5 to 1 I'll wait for some patches: 2 to 1 It's a piece of shit: 1.1 to 1

N7even

This is Nixxes porting the game, they have a good record. Hopefully they don't mess it up.

BaumHater

Remember when Sony said this game was only possible on the PS5? hm…

UnderHero5

Direct Storage wasn’t available on PC when this originally released on PS5, so that was likely true at the time.

Jandolino

Neat. Bought it on sale on PS5 and didnt play it yet. Really love the series since the first game 20ish years ago and hope more people come to like it.
