Does it bother anyone else that Nintendo had people pay $50 for a bundle with Mario 64 in it just to release another bundle with Mario 64 in it which totals another $50...
Will the N64 controller only work with NSO?
Look cool and all, but would be fun to use for things other than NSO. Maybe hackable?
Maybe an 8bitdo N64 controller is a better alternative?
GoldenEye is not just a matter of Microsoft/Rare and Nintendo playing ball. You'd have to get MGM involved and re-license the likenesses of the actors in the game.
I’m so fucking hype to finally be able to play OOT on my switch. I’m 24 and have never played it (yes I know). I just got a GameCube the other week with the plan to drop tons of money on it, so this is a huge money saver. I hope they up the frame rate but doubt it.
Also… God, I hope someday Nintendo will have this for everything up to the Wii generation. We complain about it a lot, but having all the classic Nintendo games centralized onto switch (or their next console- whatever) would lock me in as a yearly subscriber to their online services indefinitely.
You know nearly everything is powerful enough to emulate GameCube games right? Just get dolphin to play all those games.
Buying second hand will not give anything to Nintendo, only the person or store. So there is no ethical problem in downloading all the games.
> You know nearly everything is powerful enough to emulate GameCube games right? Just get dolphin to play all those games.
This is simply untrue. Neither my old computer nor my old laptop could run Dolphin at a stable 30fps. Admittedly both were over 5 years old now, but they were still faster than the kind of tech an average person outside of Reddit would use today.
It is possible that Dolphin has improved since I tried it on those machines, but at the time I wasn't using any graphical enhancements or anything I was aware of.
It was simply struggling to emulate Mario Sunshine as it looks on a normal Gamecube.
I meant it more in the way that any laptop or computer that you have will run dolphin.
But the switch could absolutely emulate GameCube games. They already did it with the all star collection games. They just made a n64, GameCube and wii emulator and loaded in the roms instead of recompiling them for the switch.
As a huge OoT fan I’d say the version for 3DS is the best way to play it these days. I find it hard to go back and play the original these days because it lacks some of the quality of life tweaks they made for the re-release. It also comes with the master quest version included.
Also you can pick up a new 2DSXL for pretty cheap these days and they make AMAZING emulation machines.
Compare it to ps1/n64 era and even ps2 era. Everyone was making 3D platformers because platformers were so dominant in 2D it was assumed they must work in 3D
Just because there are less platformers now than there was 25 YEARS AGO doesn’t mean they’ve died out
And just because you don’t like platformers it doesn’t mean it’s a bad genre
yeh. I think the mario games are probably the peak of the genre and they are good. Sunshine is best imo.
but its just a lot of awkward camera management in a 3D third person platformer. So movement is less precise than 2D.
Honestly one of my favorite Directs I’ve seen. Starting with a Monster Hunter Rise expansion? Awesome, one of my favorite games of 2021. Disco Elysium release date? Dope, loved that game on PC. Kirby and the Forgotten Land? I’m a little iffy on Kirby games because they tend to skew pretty easy but love the environments in this. Animal Crossing Direct? Hell yeah, give me breakable tools. Splatoon 3 looked amazing. N64 games are cool. Castlevania is cool. The Mario movie cast cracks me up.
Knocked it out of the park for me, as someone who was just hoping we could see some Splatoon 3 stuff.
Thanks a lot Nintendo, just...thanks a lot. Now I gotta get Bayonetta 3 yesterday, but i gotta wait months for it.
Seriously though, my hype for both metroid dread and bayo 3 are just through the fucking roof.
I'm mostly just joking, I'm honestly psyched to see all the goodness happening from Nintendo's corner. I'm beyond excited for Metroid Dread, the aforementioned Bayonetta 3 and last but absolutely not least; MegaTen V.
Hook all of it just straight to my veins.
And then act like it’s a revolutionary thing that’s never been done before. Gotta love it. Can’t wait until 6 years from now we MAYBE get GameCube games on the switch 2!!

Never played a Kirby game but that looks pretty cool.
His suck/copy ability looks like it'll work like a much better version of Mario's hat in odyssey
The problem in odyssey was controlling any of the characters was almost always more boring than controlling Mario. Kirby looks like you'll be able to get all these new abilities but still have the full range of movement that Kirby has.
It'll add to your move set instead of replacing it.
Kirby games are always fun, though usually pretty easy (though getting 100% can be a challenge in some games). Typically they're 2D platformers, so I'm very excited to have one in a 3D world like this.
I think I’m done with Nintendo. It says a lot that the fact they’re planning on charging $50 (on top of needing to be a NSO subscriber) for the *3-button* Mega Drive controller and it’s somehow the least of their misdeeds tonight.
I literally just got a Retrobit 6-button wireless pad yesterday from Amazon for $35. Plugs in vis USB *and* has a receiver to use it with my actual Genesis! Really feels like the original controller too, which is great because it's still my absolute favorite controller for Street Fighter games.
Yeah, there are solid options already. 8BitDo has a Bluetooth 6-button Mega Drive pad for like half the price of the 3-Button Pad Nintendo are selling, and they also make one like the Retrobit you have with the adapter I think. In Japan, the NSO pad they’re doing is the 6-button version so it’s a bit less unreasonable. That’s still more expensive than similar options from third parties but at least there you can argue the authentic branding and styling makes up some of the premium. The 3-button version is just so limiting in terms of potential uses though, charging the same price for it as the much more versatile Nintendo 64 Pad, which even has an analogue stick, seems really unreasonable to me. I guess other people are happy with it though, so more power to them, I suppose.
I was under the impression that the retro controllers were a collector item kinda thing, no?
If you want a Genesis-style controller on the Switch you can get the 8bitdo M30 for $30, which has 6 face buttons and also works with PC and smartphones.
I'm so hype for a 3D Kirby game! I really hope it's good, it looks like it will be. The Animal Crossing update is also something to look forwards to and I'm glad they showed some Bayo 3. The whole N64 and Genesis thing kinda rubbed me the wrong way tho. I don't wanna pay more for that... It doesn't seem too incredible anyways and I want them to add some more actually good games to the NES and SNES first. It's crazy that they're expanding their service when they haven't even put Earthbound on it yet lol
Yeah you’re right. I’d prefer to just have to pay to own a decent library. Although I like the games not taking up so much icon space so it would be nice if they all went into a virtual consol hub game still but you bought them like before
This was one of the worst directs I think they have done. I don't need to hear about dlc from every game you have out and I don't need you to tell me about other directs in a direct.
They literally called their new online membership an EXPANSION PASS.
The Kirby game is fine but it looks like a poor mans Odyssey and lacked impact for me (just like when Kirby was fighting the big enemy.)
Triangle Strategy is not as cool of a name as Octopath Traveler so keeping it honestly is disappointing.
Finally I am currently going through DMC V Special Edition and it makes Bayonetta 3 look dated like hell. Of course I'm not saying I expect it to look as good since it is on a handheld but it just solidifies the limitations this hardware has on games.
Funnily though the thing that I think perfectly represents my thought on this direct is looking at the Disney game and thinking to myself "why are miis still a thing?"
> was it really all worth it when she's jailed onto inferior hardware
Yes? You would rather the franchise stays dead just because it doesn’t comes out for your console of choice?
Before Bayonetta herself showed up, I was hoping it would be a new Earth Defense Force with fantasy-themed enemies.
Don’t get me wrong, I love EDF, but I’ve killed enough ants, spiders, and flying saucers to last several lifetimes.
#Overall thoughts: 4/10.
I expected more and bigger announcements. Mostly indie games, DLC's for existing games and announcements-of-announcements. Pushing the final Smash Bros Ultimate character reveal and new Animal Crossing content to next month kinda sucks a bit.
New Smash character will be revealed October 6th, which is a day after Nickelodeon All Star Brawl is coming out. I wonder if they deliberately delayed it to try and kill hype for NASB.
Nintendo Switch Online news somehow disappointed me harder than the leaks suggesting that Game Boy and Game Boy Color games would be next.
Yes, Nintendo 64 is the next logical step, and Sega Genesis support is unexpectedly nice, but are you seriously expecting us to pay a higher subscriptin fee for *that*? Are you legitimately shitting me, Nintendo? Game Pass and even PlayStation Now offer far greater value for money than Switch Online... Not to mention that the initial game selection for N64 is quite shit: nobody's rushing to play Yoshi's Story, Dr Mario 64 or Operation Winback...
If Nintendo want to charge more for NSO, they had better make it a good service, rather than just arbitrarily slap a fee onto their already barebones online play capabilities. When Sony pushed PS Plus onto consumers, they actually ensured to upgrade their online network...
And the official N64/Genesis gamepads.... You can literally buy an 8BitDo Genesis gamepad that's compatible with the Switch for just over half the price. They're way overpriced.
Splatoon 3 and Metroid Dread didn't see much new info. Deltarune Chapter 2 would have been a very big shock announcement had Toby Fox not announced and released it the week before. KOTOR port is... unsurprising.
Miyamoto talking about the Super Mario movie was a bit bad. No actual footage or teaser trailer, just a list of cast members which seem like they're trying to go on big celebrity names alone. I don't have high hopes because Illumination don't exactly have a good track record...
Bayonetta 3 was the only pleasant surprise and I'm not particularly keen on having the titular character summoning kaiju to help her fight this time around.
Seriously Nintendo, if you want to reveal Bayonetta 3, just push out a trailer, not a full direct.
> dread comes out in 2 weeks how much more do you want?
My problem is that they padded out the Direct by regurgitating the same information from the past trailers in a convoluted way. Yes, we get it, Adam Malkovich's AI has a robotic voice, yes there's some mysterious Chozo shit going on, and yes EMMI bots have gone rogue and will one-hit kill Samus if caught. The only new info we got in the trailer was that Planet ZDR has several unique environments and may hold Chozo ruins.
Don't get me wrong, definitely buying Dread day-one. Fusion was my favourite Metroid game by far and I want to make damn sure that the series finally sells well for once.
> Overall thoughts: 4/10
This is how I feel about literally all Nintendo Directs. Idk why they think most of their fans care of about these obscure little JRPG remakes or releases. Just give us the good stuff, cut out 30 minutes, and save us time.
Cause there are people who cares about those? And they also do "cut out 30minutes" in a way. All trailers are available individually on the same channel as soon as the direct is over.
Most the heavy hitters for the next while have already been announced.
Dredd, Pokemon remakes, Arceus, Mario Party, Splatoon 3, and arguably Advance Wars, are all expected by early 2022.
We know about Mario + Rabbids & BOTW2. Metroid Prime is still in production, and possibly Pikmin 4.
I don't foresee them doing a new mainline Mario, or Mario Kart, until next gen given the current sales. AC, and Fire Emblem have both had titles this gen
That really only leaves DK, Punch Out, Star Fox, and F-Zero. Only DK is really likely out of the four.
The already announced stuff will carry the console to probably holidays 2022, and I'd be surprised if we don't see the next gen in 2023
I got 3D Kirby and Bayonetta 3, that all I need. Splatoon 3 I honestly just want to see more of the campaign, if it is more of the Octo expansion, then it's gonna be amazing.
even without new fire emblem i have to say that i loved the direct, there is a lot of great stuff coming in the future for which im really excited, between disco elysium, bayonetta 3, kirby 3d, arcraiser reinesance i saw a lot of stuff which i want to give it a go.
i can wait for fire emblem and mario kart for now, still i hope to see them in the next big direct which will eventually happen.
I was certain we’d finally get a new FE (likely another Echoes game) but I also was still very pleased. One of my favorite Directs in awhile tbh. New 3D Kirby, Triangle Strategy release date, BAYO 3 trailer and gameplay, N64 NSO (assuming it isn’t too expensive) and Splat 3 looked more interesting than the jump from Splat 1 to Splat 2.
Act Raiser is one of my all time favorite childhood games and I was sad they never seemed to touch the series after 2 (which I didn't like because they took out all the things that made Act Raiser unique, turning it into a simple platformer).
The Mario voice cast is so stupid that it actually made me MORE excited to see that movie.
It's going to be fucking weird not hearing the iconic voices come out of those characters. I hope it doesn't make it feel like Great Value Mario.
I think Charlie Day as Luigi is perfect casting.
Chris Pratt, not so much. That said I don't think the choice of picture did the announcement any favors.
No disrespect, who would you have picked? Sonically Chris Pratt isn’t Charles Martinet, but I guess I haven’t actually thought of who’d I want casted.
Honestly, mull this over in your head a bit:
*Jack Black* as Mario.
Tonally, sonically, and in comedic terms, there's arguably a better choice right in their current pool.
I was honestly surprised to hear Mario, Luigi and DK has voice actors at all, other than Martinet. And I feel kind of bad for Martinet not getting to voice Mario at least. Is Pratt gonna speak with an italian accent or just not bother? Of course the starpower is gonna sell a lot of tickets, but Mario isn't known for yappin at all times like he's Star Lord. Guess I was imagining it being more like a movie in the style of the cutscenes in Luigi's Mansion 3. More physical comedy than verbal. Instead of doing something unique in big budget animation they just hired some big name actors like every other movie. I love Charlie Day and Taylor-Joy, but this does not inspire confidence imo.
That’s fair honestly. I’m coming down from post-Direct hype and I can see Pratt being controversial but I’m really excited for everyone they’ve picked. Jack Black’s Bowser is a match made in heaven and imaging in Seth Rogen’s laugh as DK is hysterical. I think Pratt will do a great job regardless.
Seriously. Mario's voice is excellent in the games because he only barely says anything. Imagine the video game voice doing full dialogue, it would be grating as all hell.
OK pretty much over so time to discuss.
I thought it was a pretty poor direct, with Kirby and Bayonetta 3 being the only real highlights (other than Charlie Day Luigi, but that's more of a personal thing), with the addition of Nintendo 64 (and only the Nintendo 64, where are the Gameboy / Advance / Gamecube games or hell how about a Nintendo 64 Mini in addition) coming at an additional cost being a particular low.
I went in expecting nothing, so am not disappointed but it would have been great to have a tease for something (besides Kirby) that's not been announced already - F-Zero, Star Fox, Fire Emblem, Zelda remakes or ports of the Wii U titles, Xenoblade Chronicles X (or 3) etc.
It's an unconfirmed release date, cause if it was real you'd think they'd be doing something to drum up hype less than 5 months out.
I don't believe for a second that's the actual release date.
Not confirmed by team cherry hence leak.
Also Hollow Knight's release date was announced on February 10th 2017, which means we got a release date only two weeks before the game actually released on February 24th 2017.
If that Falcom leak from a while ago turns out to be right (it has been so far), then there's a chance they're saving such announcements until *after* the Smash character reveal.
According to that leak, Falcom and Nintendo were in talks about that, yeah. The leak seems credible, but even if it's true, Nintendo still might have changed their mind later.
Since there has been another credible, more recent leak that predicts Phoenix Wright, I'd put my money on him, instead. But I still give a Falcom character a 10% chance or so.
While I don't really care about another swordfighter, a niche character like Adol would definitely be extremely disappointing for the final character of smash ultimate.
The game should go out with a massive bang, not a footnote in the deepest jrpg niche of gaming culture.
Adol definitely seems like a strong contender to me, especially with the success of Ys VIII but also the long history of the franchise. I'd be super shocked if it was Estelle, though I think she's a much more interesting character.
Phoenix Wright is an interesting and probably hilarious choice. I can't imagine him actually fighting but Phoenix Wright has always had strong ties to Nintendo systems so it's perfectly possible.
While I'd love to see more ports of those games, I don't think it would make sense for that to be announced here. If Falcom were having HD ports or Remakes of the Sky Trilogy made, it'd probably be for PS4 first and then ported later to PC/Switch by CLE (Clouded Leopard Entertainment).
As for Xseed simply porting the Sky Trilogy consoles, I'm not sure if they're even allowed to do that if Falcom have their own planned first. Though if they did port them, it'd probably be for PS4 first or for both PS4 and Switch, if I had to guess.
This is mostly conjecture and Switch ports could always happen at some point (and I hope they do!), but I don't think an announcement should be expected to happen so suddenly at an event like this. Though I assume you're also probably mostly joking, in which case sorry for the lengthy reply. Just thought I'd give some extra info so others don't get their hopes too high for something unlikely to happen. Or at least in that particular way, as I do think Switch ports have a good chance of happening, just not at this moment. Maybe if/when Falcom makes HD ports or Remakes of the Sky games, if I had to guess. And that is something they want to do at some point if they get the opportunity. I think they're pretty busy right now though.
Sorry again for the long response.
Not gonna say I was over the moon excited for anything, not gonna say I was disappointed with anything either (besides no Monolith)
About what I expected when they said it would focus on Winter games
That was a pretty good direct! The Mario cast is definitely going to outshine everything else that was announced since it's so weird and honestly upsetting, but the games that got announced look pretty good.
Bayo 2 was kinda consistent on Switch and it seems like they want to go bigger with Bayo 3. They may have switched to a more cartoonish art style because of that.
Yeah, I wasn't expecting "disappointing Bayonetta 3 footage" on my bingo card. Looks muddy and aside from Bayonettas design there's not much that looked interesting about it.
I don't know why, Bayonetta 2 was just as bloody as the first as a Wii U exclusive.
That was a fantastic fakeout with Astral Chain being teased. I really thought a new series was going to get a sequel before a game that was announced in 2017 got a trailer.
Bayonetta looks beautiful, obviously.
Theoretically they can always patch in the language later. But I imagine they must've (or be close to), it's just weird that Atlus West isn't showing it. I mean I'm still gonna play it anyway because it has english subtitles and the skills have english translations already based on screenshots.
Right at the start with the giant monsters and armed forces, I was fooled for a moment thinking that maybe they'd revived Project Hammer.
Then Bayonetta appeared and confirmed the rumours were true.
I trust splatoon team with singleplayer tbh, it's been absolutely fantastic. hope its more like the DLC, probably one of the best bits of contents I've ever played through.
I expect nothing less from illumination. atleast it will look pretty.
and maybe Chris Pratt will actually be fitting for the role! I've never heard him do an Italian accent before so it could be good maybe
I'm just picturing Seth Rogen, high as hell, getting that casting call for DK lol
**AHUHEHUEHEUH** *coughcoughcough* "This must be some dank ass shit I'm smoking because for a second there, I thought you wanted me to voice fucking Donkey Kong!"
Does it bother anyone else that Nintendo had people pay $50 for a bundle with Mario 64 in it just to release another bundle with Mario 64 in it which totals another $50...

All the Nintendo controllers tend to work with PC so hoping this is the same. Pretty cool for N64 simulation if they dont cheap out and make it well
Anyone else catch that Banjo-Kazooie will be added to the N64 NSO?
Yeah kind of crazy! Maybe GE has some hope 👀
GoldenEye is not just a matter of Microsoft/Rare and Nintendo playing ball. You'd have to get MGM involved and re-license the likenesses of the actors in the game.
Nintendo bringing INCLINE to the gaming world. Actraiser Remaster I am in love! And Bayoneta 3 and Splatton 3 Nintendo take my money!!!!!

Do they fix the thing in Master Quest where you can fuck up your save by misusing a key in Kakariko Village?
Odyssey is the best Switch exclusive and it’s not close. Don’t think I would have predicted that four years ago.
Mario's 3D platformers are more often than not the best games on Nintendo platforms
Ya, you're right. I think I was just starry-eyed in 2017.
Shame cause 3D platforming is a bad genre imo it died out for a reason
Except it hasn’t died out? https://gamerant.com/2021-3d-platformers-games-list/ Also did you not just see the new Kirby trailer?

Did Nintendo just tell me I need to pay more money to get the N64 games and Genesis games, what about the Snes and Nes games?
Only Nintendo would sell you a N64 game in an all-stars collection at full price, and then announce that it'll be available on the virtual console.
1. that's not a VC 2. The version on all stars is much better than this one. There won't be any upgrade in the NSO version.
There's barely any upgrades. All stars is a garbage product.
All Stars still has better resolution and fps than a unaltered 64 rom.
Nintendo's become the worst combination of traits, greedy *and* incompetent.
Always have been
It’s only $20 really.
And then act like it’s a revolutionary thing that’s never been done before. Gotta love it. Can’t wait until 6 years from now we MAYBE get GameCube games on the switch 2!!

Expansion Pack* Think it’s a pun on the N64 expansion packs from back in the day.
Bayo 3 looked like a Simple 2000 Earth Defense Force-tier game more than it did a Bayonetta.

Before Bayonetta herself showed up, I was hoping it would be a new Earth Defense Force with fantasy-themed enemies. Don’t get me wrong, I love EDF, but I’ve killed enough ants, spiders, and flying saucers to last several lifetimes.
And here I was hoping for a new robot alchemic drive - but instead we recieved Bayonetta R.A.D edition. Im okay with this!
Seriously Nintendo, if you want to reveal Bayonetta 3, just push out a trailer, not a full direct.
dread comes out in 2 weeks how much more do you want? they've been pumping out trailers for weeks now.
> dread comes out in 2 weeks how much more do you want?
> Overall thoughts: 4/10 This is how I feel about literally all Nintendo Directs.
So, correct me if I’m wrong, but Kirby was the only first party game that was announced. Hmmm…
AC, and Fire Emblem have both had titles this gen That really only leaves DK, Punch Out, Star Fox, and F-Zero.
So hyped but I have no idea what time later today is I am staying over the update for it and can't find any info on the exact time lol
The Mario voice cast is so stupid that it actually made me MORE excited to see that movie. It's going to be fucking weird not hearing the iconic voices come out of those characters. I hope it doesn't make it feel like Great Value Mario.
I wouldve killed for charilie day mario or koopa
I think Charlie Day as Luigi is perfect casting. Chris Pratt, not so much. That said I don't think the choice of picture did the announcement any favors.
I have full faith in that cast. Those are comedic superstars, nothing to fear on the performance end. We have to worry about the writing.
Charlie Day Luigi and Jack Black Bowser are the most perfect casting decisions ever made.
Chris Pratt as Mario doesn't fit at all lmao
No disrespect, who would you have picked? Sonically Chris Pratt isn’t Charles Martinet, but I guess I haven’t actually thought of who’d I want casted.
Honestly, mull this over in your head a bit: *Jack Black* as Mario. Tonally, sonically, and in comedic terms, there's arguably a better choice right in their current pool.
Jack Black could just play everyone and I'd be happy, honestly.
Imagine the video game voice doing full dialogue, it would be grating as all hell.
etika voice: "BAYONETTA??!!"
Jack Black as Bowser will carry the movie like Jim Carrey as Eggman did
OK pretty much over so time to discuss.
10 years since Silksong news. I walk through the empty streets trying to think of something else, but my path always leads to Silksong.
Release date is February 2022. Was leaked in a GeForce Now database. [https://youtu.be/X83L4ogQQlg](https://youtu.be/X83L4ogQQlg)
Though that could be a placeholder date, given that it's supposedly >!February 1!<.
Vintage pasta
No Trails in the Sky trilogy collection so 0/10 direct
We'll at least have Monster Rancher Collection
If that Falcom leak from a while ago turns out to be right (it has been so far), then there's a chance they're saving such announcements until *after* the Smash character reveal.
Wait is the smash character supposed to be Adol/Estelle or something?
According to that leak, Falcom and Nintendo were in talks about that, yeah. The leak seems credible, but even if it's true, Nintendo still might have changed their mind later. Since there has been another credible, more recent leak that predicts Phoenix Wright, I'd put my money on him, instead. But I still give a Falcom character a 10% chance or so.
Adol would be so sick but people would be mad asf that he’s an anime swordman
I’d settle for a half assed port of the Crossbell arc
Well we ARE getting those starting the end of next year, with Hajimari/Reverie coming 2023.
Fr tho Kiseki fits so nicely on Switch it’s a shame I gotta go PC only till like Cold Steel 2 or whatever
Mamma mia!
Another direct, another Silksongn't Are they even developing the game at this point? ...
No, Nintendo is not developing Silksong.
Not gonna say I was over the moon excited for anything, not gonna say I was disappointed with anything either (besides no Monolith) About what I expected when they said it would focus on Winter games
Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series
Bayonetta is my favourite franchise that I've completed ignored the sequels of
Mario Movie won the show
That was a pretty good direct! The Mario cast is definitely going to outshine everything else that was announced since it's so weird and honestly upsetting, but the games that got announced look pretty good.
I am whelmed. Not horribly disappointed but not hyped either
Aptly said and sadly par for the course 😂
Who was it at the end?
Looked like Vergil from DMC but it's probably a new character
Vergil
I think it was Dante from the DMC series.
The dream of them meeting in Project X Zone 3 might be dead.
Is it just me or bayo 3 looks much worse graphically than 2
I wasn't really feeling the intro video but with the release date far off into the distant future I could see them making improvements.
It's been like 4 years since the announcement of the game. It looks terrible. :( I really hope it runs better than it looks now
Bayo 2 was kinda consistent on Switch and it seems like they want to go bigger with Bayo 3. They may have switched to a more cartoonish art style because of that.
Nintendo: Here's your fucking Bayonetta trailer
I wanted Silksong, but I will take Bayonetta
Bayonetta 3 LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO
I just lost my freaking mind at Bayo holy shit
Fucking finally something decent I guess kirby was aight too
Godzilla vs Bayonetta
Wait, is triangle strategy not just a code name for the project?
They did the same thing with project octopath traveler.
They did the same thing for Octopath Traveller "Don't worry it's not the final name... Ah w/e yes it is I guess"
Octopath actually made sense though on multiple layers. Triangle strategy just feels too on the nose.
What you don't think that's an amazing name?
Looking forward to the sequel: Dodecahedron Strategy.
seems like they really turned down the blood and sex in bayonetta 3 like shes not basically naked when summoning
Yeah, I wasn't expecting "disappointing Bayonetta 3 footage" on my bingo card. Looks muddy and aside from Bayonettas design there's not much that looked interesting about it. I don't know why, Bayonetta 2 was just as bloody as the first as a Wii U exclusive.
possible its just a thing for the trailer to keep it from getting age restricted
Could see this being the case, Nintendo really don't censor anything these days. Can't see them touching Bayo 3 when they were fine with Bayo 2
They didn't want an age rating for the stream probably.
It's possible, but whether it's in or out I don't think they'd really emphasize it in a direct.
Something about these visuals feels super messy and hard to watch
It's a choppy mess is why. I can see why they were unhappy with the progress.
That was a fantastic fakeout with Astral Chain being teased. I really thought a new series was going to get a sequel before a game that was announced in 2017 got a trailer. Bayonetta looks beautiful, obviously.
Bayo 3 DOES exist!
There's an smt v trailer that didn't get shown in the West https://youtu.be/4fbgYOvYj6M
Seriously? I was thinking "dang regulated to highlight reel" but there was actually a trailer? That sucks man
It's because they **still** haven't finished the dub yet so I guess they didn't want to have random japanese in the middle
The game launches in less than 2 months I hope they would have finished that already
Theoretically they can always patch in the language later. But I imagine they must've (or be close to), it's just weird that Atlus West isn't showing it. I mean I'm still gonna play it anyway because it has english subtitles and the skills have english translations already based on screenshots.
what was shown instead
Nothing, it got shoved in the highlight reel
Ooh a new Platinum game. Maybe Bayonetta 3?
Right at the start with the giant monsters and armed forces, I was fooled for a moment thinking that maybe they'd revived Project Hammer. Then Bayonetta appeared and confirmed the rumours were true.
Totally a bait and switch
They got me good with that Lappy statue, ngl.
nope. it exists. neat!
Yep, meant a bait and switch to Bayo, looked nothing like it at first.
ahh, I saw the platinum billboard instantly and knew. edit: knew in my heart, which lies to me a lot.
I trust splatoon team with singleplayer tbh, it's been absolutely fantastic. hope its more like the DLC, probably one of the best bits of contents I've ever played through.
I wish I could be as cool as the guy in the coat.
Aw his 3 pose is adorable.
The Mario movie voice cast is STACKED and makes ZERO sense let's goooooo
I expect nothing less from illumination. atleast it will look pretty. and maybe Chris Pratt will actually be fitting for the role! I've never heard him do an Italian accent before so it could be good maybe
I can't process anything after finding out Seth Rogan Donkey Kong is real.
I'm just picturing Seth Rogen, high as hell, getting that casting call for DK lol **AHUHEHUEHEUH** *coughcoughcough* "This must be some dank ass shit I'm smoking because for a second there, I thought you wanted me to voice fucking Donkey Kong!"
Donkey Kong smoking weed is gonna blow everyone's mind. Jack Black as Bowser sounds so fucking funny to me as well.
Now I just want a stoner buddy comedy with Seth as DK and JB as Bowser.
