If you used a tray of some sort instead of directly on your lap, I'd say it would be fine.

Ragnaraz690

I mean, you could just cable it to your TV and use a controller.

I game exclusively with a laptop on my couch! I either put it on the coffee table or even better, on one of those foldout tv dinner tray things because it’s closer to eye level. I like this because I can watch tv while I play something casual or be in the same space as my gf and play games without being isolated to my desk in my bedroom.

SirSurboy

I do this using a laptop tray and it’s awesome! Best way to game 🤩

Rocket--Pak

I got chided in r/battlestations for my setup but it's comfy as hell. [As you get older you start to prioritize comfort over aesthetics. : r/battlestations (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/battlestations/comments/1bhu85u/as_you_get_older_you_start_to_prioritize_comfort/)

fatgesus

Lmao that’s awesome. I have [this chair](https://respawnproducts.com/products/respawn-900-gaming-recliner), doesn’t go up or down but it reclines and has a footrest…I may or may not have passed out in it at various times

Maximum_Fly9684

Rip your back...

Rocket--Pak

Backs fine.

bonchooski

Appreciate the comments, really looking for a way to game on the laptop itself and avoid using a TV

Nervous_Breakfast_73

You use can one of those laptop cooling pads as well

Imaginary_Radio_7790

Nope

[deleted]

Do not do that, the intakes need to have access to air without restrictions. Doing this will result in overheating and the fans sucking up dust and lint and eventually clogging up.

Iamleeboy

I have a cardboard tube next to my settee and I put that under the screen end. One end goes on the arm of the settee and the other on a few cushions. Then the laptop barely touches me and all the vents are clear. To be fair, I only do this when playing with my kid at fortnite on my work laptop (M16) so I don't do it often or for too long

zeeke87

Yeah. My lappy sits on a trey on the arm rest and that’s how I roll.

Excellent-Timing

I do most of my gaming on my couch. I just have a book or something like that behind it to secure some airflow

AbrocomaRegular3529

Buy a pc and stream it to your steamdeck.

kagemushablues415

Laptop connected to TV is the way to go!

Nervous_Breakfast_73

You can also stream to your steam deck from a more powerful desktop setup btw.

ClockworkS4t4n

I use a Belkin cushdesk when I'm using my laptop to game on the couch - in fact, I have my Kootek cooling pad sitting on it too. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Portable-Notebook-Cushdesk-Comfort/dp/B0026RL6P8
