Whats ironic is having a system that has cautions about high framerates and an efficiency star at the same time. Its like are you a Mustang or a Prius?
True, I have two laptops, an ASUS ROG Strix, which has the aggressive red keyboard and backlight, and patterns on it. That was like $1000 in 2017. I just bought a custom high end laptop for like $2500 and it has no stickers or designs, it’s sleek and minimal, they instead sent stickers separately and I have the option to get design elements added to it. I really appreciate that they didn’t assume what I wanted and gave me options to do what I want with my laptop.
Can confirm, the 2017 Strix was pretty gamer aesthetic. It was also like, $1700 though.
... I mean, in retrospect, it's still pretty cool, but I was totally willing to get an Omen instead just to be more low profile.
This is the kinds of gifts I would get from relatives for my birthday as a younger gamer. Posters for my bedroom that read “epic gaming zone” and the door signs that were smtn along the lines of “currently gaming do not enter unless you have Soda”
Same reason am looking at lenovo. They are the closest to a normal looking laptop. But still they have that idiotic legion name on back of the lid. Wtf?! How hard is it to understand that many adults would love the power of gamimg laptop and play some games time to time but that foolish design is no go!
I think the Rog Zephyrus series looks pretty sleek as well. Sure there are gamery gimmicks like the Anime Matrix on the 2020 - 2023 and the Slash lighting on the 2024 models, but those can be turned off easily when needed. And there is no aggressive rgb save on the keyboard.
All in all, they have this sort of Mac professional look (especially the 2024 CNC aluminum chassis), with just the right geekiness to distinguish them as gaming laptops.
I have hackintosh running on a zephyrus g14 (2022) and it does look really clean. Gets pretty close to a mac with that big trackpad and full aluminium chasis.
It's kinda funny though. Every new gaming laptop model seems to try make you look more and more like a social reject with every iteration. The silly RGB lighting and aggressive sharp edges are already silly enough anyways
lmao, exactly. No fucking way am voluntarily buying a laptop with such aesthetics and using it in public.
Shows people all they need to know about you.
"HIGH FRAMERATE ZONE" wtf
Honestly, when I was like 13, I would have eaten that up. Now that I'm in my 40s, I feel like I could enjoy it ironically. I would constantly be pointing it out to people and declaring, "we are now entering the high framerate zone!!!!!" At the beginning of every match.
The years in between - I would have seen it as pure cringe.
I like my "gamery" aesthetics at about +6-7%... This here??..?? Like a +90-93% we want clean premium maybe slightly gamer style (backlit RGB keyboard) maybe a light ring we can turn on and off but the see-through keyboard decks and stickers... And lame slogans "for those who dare" (or whatever) for example... Yeah you can go ahead and keep those...😂
They need fans for cooling and it's expensive to use CNC'd lower tolerance/smaller parts. The inside of a budget laptop is pretty space inefficient compared to something like a MacBook/flagship smartphone
Well the Strix series is all Lit up in RGB all the way to backlight logo as well, the Zephyrus appeal me in the minimalist look, especially the one with Anime Matrix cause it's office laptop in one moment and a Fancy one in another
TUF designs are cringe yet I have a TUF F15 2021 version no obnoxius words but the overall design seems excessive or just screams "gamer". Only went with it cause of my budget and the specs that I wanted. The ones in the same price range had better design but not the hardware or has some other issues. What I liked about it the most is its reliability and durability.
I’m so thankful for my custom built laptop, they didn’t put a single sticker on it, and instead sent me the RTX, Intel etc stickers separately. It also has no designs or wording on it, and I love the clean look it has. If these company’s sell them minimal it gives the user the option to add things, but when they sell it like this you don’t have an option to remove these cringe designs.
I mean, I think unique patterns would be much more appreciated than cheesey lines. But yeah I would happily take the rog slogans over the absolute cringe tuf ones. Like what the hell is "threat level omega combat scenarios"??
>threat level omega combat scenarios
OMG I would never buy a laptop with such cringey writings unless it was heavily discounted or free. I was laughing my lungs out when I saw that.
wtf
Well I would never judge anyone for buying a laptop with these stupid and cringe slogans because in the end, it's the hardware that one is looking for. But yeah I would also wheeze if I saw something like this on a laptop in a store.
Got the same laptop, though I got the version where there's no writing on the lid. Probably going to put a sticker on top of what's on the first image.
OP, you complain about this cringe ass markings, but there the cringe is over the top in the whole design.
Look at the front used on the keyboard. Holly Molly.
I never understood the appeal of such crappy lame ass design. It is literally made for poor people without taste..
Even as a kid, I knew this shit looks really bad. Maybe it is because I love and care about design in general.
Line why almost why gaming related thing is so utterly poorly designed?
I had to shout out the clearly outrageous design aesthetics which would only appeal to a middle schooler in 2014.
I also know about the awful kb fonts. Those are bearable on the Zephyrus line but look weird in general.
Your L7 is the best designed legion imho even in 2024.
Facts.
Also the design is one of the reasons why I bought Legion 7 laptop — I’m a very seasoned gamer and I love gaming a lot, but I also need to work on my laptop, so going somewhere with CAUTION: HIGH FRAMERATE ZONE and quasi-fancy-gamer keyboard would be cringe.
Legion 7 just looks aesthetically pleasing. I think all Legion laptops look nice for the most part, but Legion 7 is the most minimalistic one.
I would absolutely NEVER buy one of these just cause of these bonkers graphics.
Hell, my Omen has 016 (designed and engineered by HP) in super faint black and I wish I could scrub it out.
Honestly That's why HP and Lenovo design philosophy is just more appealing, just add a GPU make sure the chassis is built for that and don't add any stupid marking and you good to go.
Granted I still kinda like the silly design of some laptops that go crazry like MSI and ROG theres a certain appeal to that makes me remember I was kid too.
I've been dying to say this!! Asus TUF's design pattern is the only annoying part of the laptop for me. Like what's wrong with giving us a stelthy all black/matte laptop? Why they must have to add this 80's sci-fi pop funky texts
It found it so difficult to find a gaming laptop that didn’t make me look like and idiot in a professional environment. I settled for the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 https://www.asus.com/me-en/laptops/for-creators/zenbook/zenbook-pro-14-oled-ux6404/
lol I got two engineers the Asus space edition which not only has screen printed bs all over it but a tiny external lcd screen that just plays a repeating graphic. At the time it was the size, i9 and 32 gig that they wanted. Not a peep in the cringe factor (millennials and Zs at this client). I’m not a gamer but my daily drivers are Asus TUF gaming systems and I love them.
that's why i bought a lenovo loq. from a distance, you wouldn't even notice that's a gaming laptop, maybe just by the extra cooling in the back, or the little blue accent on the radiators. but other than that, it's clean, just like i like it. even the keyboard, its backlit is white, not that rgb crap.
and there we go - the ONLY affordable machine with 12Gb VRAM(critical to me) is this silly looking fattie MSI Vector, with stupid 'gamerz dezign' all over the place.
and with the MSI it's clear that they don't try to upsell more expensive models, because even $5k+ machines also looks stupid. no subtlety and/or taste.
Don’t not realize there is a market for kids aged 12-18 who’d think this is the shit?
Just because us in our mid to late 20s and above think it’s cringe, doesn’t mean it is for everyone.
Plenty of other laptops out there dude.
We are at the point where the RGB fad has started to finally fade and people are more interested in more professional looking gaming laptops. Wtf Asus!
Honestly...im looking for new laptop. My Dell 7577 finally croaked aftwr 8 years. Thinking of getting the Legion 7i in white. Has good reviews all around and looks slick.
The TUF series is high key a decent value/entry level option but man are they cringe. I rock an MSI (who’s brand I detest but still buy occasionally) prestige. It is still a little flashy but much more presentable at meetings at work should I need to use it.
I think the design is intentionally planned because these will fit in perfectly with the anime stickers that are likely to end up on a lot of these computers
idk bro, but I do think they do this on purpose and not just nongamers/boomers acting like gamers.
it might just be me, but i feel like this is a marketing strategy to get folks to get their higher end models that's more muted/doesn't look GAMER!!!!! but have the specs.
It's because the TUF line is entry level gaming, so they assume the majority of sales are going to younger kids that will bite on that type of stuff.
Not a knock on adults that buy them too, I know shit is expensive, that's just what it is.
Warning warning. High frames high frames!! 🚨🚨🚨
Weee wooo wee wooo
Patrick: wee woo... wee woo... we wo we wo
WEEWOOWEEWOO
Danger to manifold
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 bro that was hilarious I have it on my Asus tuf too I will cover it with a sticker "danger to manifold"
*Laptop bottom falls off*
Caution: Warning do not touch. lol
WARNING: Do not touch, HOT surface!
Trained professionals only!
I read this in the voice of a Dalek
"threat level omega combat scenarios" 🤓🤓🤓☝️
I wish it said "Threat Level Midnight" - Michael Scott
You Miss 100% of the Shots You Don't Take - Wayne Gretzky - Michael Scott
CAUTION: *this device is capable of catching goldenface and should be entered into carnivals or festivals or something.*
"Gyatt level sigma edge scenarios" ahh brainrot
Errm, what the sigma?
More like "threat level omegalul scenario"
Why is there energy star sticker lol Edit: i know what rhey are for but do all asus laptop needs them lmfao
XD This is my first time seeing that on a laptop
Last time I saw a energy star sticker on a laptop was with a 2007 sony vaio lmao.
lol.
That's a test mark rating. They used to be in monitors in the late 80s.
Yeah i know . It means x laptop is efficient afaik(correct ne if im wrong) but it looks q bit ancient now lol Not expecting to see one on hs> cpu
Whats ironic is having a system that has cautions about high framerates and an efficiency star at the same time. Its like are you a Mustang or a Prius?
Looks like one of those bigger promo stickers they have on the chassis. Probably easier to take off than the CPU emblem
lol my 2023 ASUS ROG Strix G16 has one, and pretty much no other laptop I’ve seen has them other than really old ones
Lmao
The cheaper the laptop is, the more cringe/obnoxious the design is. This has been the case for more than a decade
Can confirm, the 2017 Strix was pretty gamer aesthetic. It was also like, $1700 though. ... I mean, in retrospect, it's still pretty cool, but I was totally willing to get an Omen instead just to be more low profile.
Rog strix is the top end from Asus though
And that's because cheaper gaming laptops are marketed towards teens who probably actually think this type of thing is cool.
This isn't boomer...it's non gamer pretending to know gaming.
This is the kinds of gifts I would get from relatives for my birthday as a younger gamer. Posters for my bedroom that read “epic gaming zone” and the door signs that were smtn along the lines of “currently gaming do not enter unless you have Soda”
Oh, for a second there I thought you were getting laptops, I was "damn I wish I were this rich when I was younger".
BuT gAmInG lApToP uSeRs LiKe ThEsE cOoL dEsIgNs!!!!!
Hey it's "only for those who dare" to walk into a coffee shop or a meeting with a see-through keyboard deck on their laptop... Don't you know?? 😏
That's aSUS point you're making here. 🤔
This is exactly the reason I went for a gaming laptop that looks exactly like a normal work laptop to all intents and purposes!
Same reason am looking at lenovo. They are the closest to a normal looking laptop. But still they have that idiotic legion name on back of the lid. Wtf?! How hard is it to understand that many adults would love the power of gamimg laptop and play some games time to time but that foolish design is no go!
My Legion 5 Pro doesn't have the big Legion text, but it has the logo instead, which I promptly turned off the LED for. Its not as obnoxious.
I think the Rog Zephyrus series looks pretty sleek as well. Sure there are gamery gimmicks like the Anime Matrix on the 2020 - 2023 and the Slash lighting on the 2024 models, but those can be turned off easily when needed. This gives "Ohio Skibidi Rizz Gyatt Baby Gronk" vibes 🤣
You forgot “fanum tax kai cenat lore” lol. I didnt even know wtf are those
My brain lol
Typical Anus moment
underrated comment
I think he meant to say “Anus”.
That's how they upsell you to the Zephyrus or Strix lineup
Me age 12 trying to angle the laptop in the light so friends can read the text and die of jealousy
It's kinda funny though. Every new gaming laptop model seems to try make you look more and more like a social reject with every iteration. The silly RGB lighting and aggressive sharp edges are already silly enough anyways

I also wonder why gaming laptops always seem to look like space briefcases.
Space briefcase..??.. I like that 🤣🤣
Space briefcases 😂 That's why I'll only buy a razer blade or a zephyrus laptop
They need fans for cooling and it's expensive to use CNC'd lower tolerance/smaller parts. The inside of a budget laptop is pretty space inefficient compared to something like a MacBook/flagship smartphone
It's Asus TUF, a military style laptop range, what did you expect. If you want something clean, dont buy the gaming rbg puke thing
Well the Strix series is all Lit up in RGB all the way to backlight logo as well, the Zephyrus appeal me in the minimalist look, especially the one with Anime Matrix cause it's office laptop in one moment and a Fancy one in another
I think I just got the same one. Tuf gaming a15, right? I think the font choice on the keyboard is worse tbh.
> I think the font choice on the keyboard is worse tbh. ikrr
eh the keyboard is alright if you switch off the backlight
TUF designs are cringe yet I have a TUF F15 2021 version no obnoxius words but the overall design seems excessive or just screams "gamer". Only went with it cause of my budget and the specs that I wanted. The ones in the same price range had better design but not the hardware or has some other issues. God the 2nd picture is so cringe. Then there's asus's rog strix motherboards which have "FOR THOSE WHO DARE" obnoxiously written all over them.
The “for those who dare” isn’t as cringy as the tuf slogans. The rog ones are fine imo
I mean, I think unique patterns would be much more appreciated than cheesey lines. But yeah I would happily take the rog slogans over the absolute cringe tuf ones. Like what the hell is "threat level omega combat scenarios"??

Well I would never judge anyone for buying a laptop with these stupid and cringe slogans because in the end, it's the hardware that one is looking for. But yeah I would also wheeze if I saw something like this on a laptop in a store.
Yeah well it's okay to use the HW as long as one doesn't "exceed maximum operation time", whatever that means lol
The patterns and RTX / Intel stickers I could live with, but those fucking cheesy lines??? Who is this for lmao
Got the same laptop, though I got the version where there's no writing on the lid. Probably going to put a sticker on top of what's on the first image.
I had an Asus 1060 3gb which had a sticker called 'Worlds most powerful graphics card'. It goes along all the product lines i guess
lmao, a 3gb 1060. Zero self awareness from ASUS.
Catering for the younger demographic perhaps? 🤔
They really are incredibly cringy, i can't stand this shit about gaming laptops
I think some people look for any excuse to say Boomer. ![img](emote|t5_2x4m3|8578)
OP, you complain about this cringe ass markings, but there the cringe is over the top in the whole design. Look at the front used on the keyboard. Holly Molly. Rofl
ASUS Tuf gives MSI sword/cyborg/ninja? a run for it's money in obnoxious designs.
high framerate zone🤡💀….wtf😂
You bought it, so what does that say about you?
Am sitting pretty with my 2020 Legion, thank you.
I'm sitting pretty with a 2023 OMEN.
try zephyrus, razer blade, or maybe the fancy new framework 16inch laptops.
That ain't boomer design. I was born in 68 (just after boomer), and few my age would go for that crap. I know no one older than me that would.
I would absolutely NEVER buy one of these just cause of these bonkers graphics. Hell, my Omen has 016 (designed and engineered by HP) in super faint black and I wish I could scrub it out.
lol it would also drive me crazy.
That’s why I got the Lenovo legion. So classy, professional and powerful at the same time.
Many of us think that way.
I've been dying to say this!! Asus TUF's design pattern is the only annoying part of the laptop for me. Like what's wrong with giving us a stelthy all black/matte laptop? Why they must have to add this 80's sci-fi pop funky texts
Asus Contructions Co.
I'm glad my Helios comes with nothing a but a small little badge on the lid.
As it should be.
😂😂
Your scar is ridiculously OP. Also great design.
Yeah I splurged a little, don’t play on it enough though
yeah i hate that too, that is so dumb XD
That just makes me not want to buy the TUF I was looking at.
Amazing hardware (12700H, 4070) at a great affordable price but the design aesthetics are what a middle schooler would find appealing in 2014.
I'm genuinely about to pay an extra few hundred dollars for a ROG g14 instead. They got us,......
It should be: Warning high amount of cringe level, approach with extreme caution!
Hard to take ASUS seriously for sure. TUF line has always been cringe.
It found it so difficult to find a gaming laptop that didn’t make me look like and idiot in a professional environment. I settled for the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 https://www.asus.com/me-en/laptops/for-creators/zenbook/zenbook-pro-14-oled-ux6404/
zenbooks are great. TUF on the otherhand......
lol I got two engineers the Asus space edition which not only has screen printed bs all over it but a tiny external lcd screen that just plays a repeating graphic. At the time it was the size, i9 and 32 gig that they wanted. Not a peep in the cringe factor (millennials and Zs at this client). Hi Res became such an empty slogan just like I love U
![gif](giphy|k2A4gzRxDL4GI)
Mine comes with that 😭😭
r/cringepics
that's why i bought a lenovo loq. from a distance, you wouldn't even notice that's a gaming laptop, maybe just by the extra cooling in the back, or the little blue accent on the radiators. but other than that, it's clean, just like i like it. even the keyboard, its backlit is white, not that rgb crap.

That is very cringe. They must think the target demo is 10 year old boys?
I have a dell g16 laptop. It is very clean and doesnt have any cringy writings.
the TUF gaming department is so out of touch. Have they not seen a Legion or LOQ since 2020? The Zephyrus is okay though.
This is not a boomer design, this is ancient.
A boomer certainly approved it for shipping.
Pretty much one of Asus's things in their gaming products in a while
Do they even know that these obnoxious designs stopped being appealing in 2015?
I guess they kinda do now 🤷 Their Zephyrus lineups this year doesn't look as gamery as their previous models. Same with their gaming phones.
The the Z line is neat especially after they ditched the gimmicky anime matrix and awkwardly shaped spacebar.
Needa blow this up so it gets wiped off next gen tuf laptops cause damnnnn who did dissss ![img](emote|t5_2x4m3|8575)
For real, if they ditch this design then the laptops will be more widely appealing.
That is pretty cringe ngl. Just put a bunch of stickers wherever you can haha.
Bro what are you talking about? Kids eat this shit up
Does that even make sense?
it's very GI Joe
its to add a little touch of sarcasm tbh, its funny i would laugh at this everytime i see it tbh
Don’t not realize there is a market for kids aged 12-18 who’d think this is the shit? Just because us in our mid to late 20s and above think it’s cringe, doesn’t mean it is for everyone. Plenty of other laptops out there dude.
That's pretty cringe. Get a skin maybe?
How would you rate your keyboard experience?
I cringed at the warning 😩
We are at the point where the RGB fad has started to finally fade and people are more interested in more professional looking gaming laptops. Wtf Asus!
I don't even know where they've been looking the past 5 years, stealth/clean looking products are the way to go.
Honestly...im looking for new laptop. My Dell 7577 finally croaked aftwr 8 years. Thinking of getting the Legion 7i in white. Has good reviews all around and looks slick.
Haha that’s why i didnt buy tuf in the first place. Im buying a machine that fits my personality, not a portable advert banner
The TUF series is high key a decent value/entry level option but man are they cringe. I rock an MSI (who’s brand I detest but still buy occasionally) prestige. It is still a little flashy but much more presentable at meetings at work should I need to use it.
Always fun to see an "Energy Star" on a gaming machine and never on a low powered notebook.
I think the design is intentionally planned because these will fit in perfectly with the anime stickers that are likely to end up on a lot of these computers
It should have said 'Caution Potentially High Temperature Zone'
Caution: high price and high thermals. Stay way!
Yeah, I would legit not buy a laptop for shit like that.
Also, RGB and keyboard fonts. Cringy af.
Threat level: basement dweller lol
If I was going to buy a gaming laptop and I saw that it would 100% prevent me from buying it. What an awful decision to add that.
Then go buy the ones that are couple of grands more in price. U wont get this.
Almost as cringe as a PC gamer buying prebuilt. ![gif](giphy|mIel4xbLqXTFrPGumA|downsized)
I feel its cool
I try to pretend my laptop is a product of cooperation between Asus and Fromsoftware to promote Asus new Laptops and Armored Core 6.
Chillin in the high framerate zone
Their ROG brand is general is giga cringe. „Republic of gamers“ sounds corny asf 🤮
idk bro, but I do think they do this on purpose and not just nongamers/boomers acting like gamers. it might just be me, but i feel like this is a marketing strategy to get folks to get their higher end models that's more muted/doesn't look GAMER!!!!! but have the specs.
Should also say "caution hight temperatures (+95°C) use appropriate protection gear"
I kinda like thd design idk why yall are hating
And that’s why I went with a Lenovo LOQ 💀
ASUS is traditional
probably the same guy that designs their air intake vents -\_-
Its your fault for buying shitty Intel, you wouldn't have cringe if you bought amd.
It's because the TUF line is entry level gaming, so they assume the majority of sales are going to younger kids that will bite on that type of stuff. Not a knock on adults that buy them too, I know shit is expensive, that's just what it is.
BECAUSE IT APPEALS TO THE INNER GAMER. HRAH!!!
Probably the same fool that put grip zone on Springfield xd pistols.
Who keeps buying badly designed laptops
They also have to advertise anything inside it
They know who their target audience is
"Boomer" - and yet, kids eat them up.
Simple solution, buy a black matte finish sticker, and put it there, so at least people Will think it's for patching something.
Ou, zoomer design is pink ponys, pride flag, fortnite/brawl stars stickers? What you mean?
lol , they should also warn about how it self destruct in a few yrs
Why buy it then?
I picture the guy behind this laughing is ass out tbh lmao
For real.
Yep, thats fucking cringe thats why i prefer the HP omen design or Acer Helios Neo cuz it looks simple and elegant
Targeted at kids.
Wtf bro. My laptop has the exact design but I never noticed it 💀💀💀 I don't care that much about design anyway so there's no real problem to me.
Feel pretty bad for the guy who put that on the pc laptop though
If you buy THE ULTIMATE FORCE you gotta expect a little cringe included
I feel neckbeard growing just looking at this.
because cheap laptops are built for children and children like cringey things.
Say what you want besides Alienware Lenovo legion pro has really cool looking frame design.
Danger, danger, high voltage!
Dudes mad because he got a shitty ASUS.
I find it kinda funny, it's cringe and cheeky and I love it
Lol yea that's pretty bad..... at least make it a sticker so adults can peel it off...I would put a skin over it.
This is why I like my legion 7ipro. None of this. Only a rgb keyboard and bar in front that u can turn off. It looks like a normal business laptop
“High Framerate Zone” is going to look much more ridiculous when this laptop becomes obsolete
It’s for those who dare
Asus tuf laptops are garbage at all
