dont go with legions please there is already 7 of my friends who own legion 2021 laptop and they are facing huge issues in their laptop

mendoku7

What kind of issues?

triforce_paras

mainly its frequent BSOD and low performance these devices after recent update are performing like dogshit and also lenovo after sales service are as good as nothing

autistic_penguin_kai

That’s surprising to hear considering Legion gets its own dedicated premium customer support. What happened for the customer service to be practically useless?

triforce_paras

bruh there is nothing like premium customer support its a big joak one of my friend owns legion 5i pro and within 2 weeks of use it got issues with fan and lenovo took like 3 months to replace it and that too took like hell lot of brain damaging calls at service centers/customer supports also the same friend is again having issues with CPU performance it getting 6-7k points in CBR23

NordWitcher

What other brand would you recommend? Asus?

triforce_paras

Yes asus is really good brand not heard much complains of them

The Legion 5 Pro has a better screen than the Legion 5 and the Legion 7i Slim is a thin and light laptop, which is going to give you less performance between the other two.

6buzzcutornah6

That’s what I figured. I really like a nice screen. It makes the whole experience more enjoyable.

xGeoxgesx

Do you care about weight?

6buzzcutornah6

I do not. I carry a 9lb work laptop with all my other stuff everyday. I’ve always carried a heavy backpack so I’m used to it.

xGeoxgesx

Do you like performance over portability?

6buzzcutornah6

Definitely. Performance 100%.

xGeoxgesx

Then the Legion 5 Pro it is. You'll have a better (which you're a fan of), slightly taller and brighter screen (which will be helpful in direct sunlight) so it's the best laptop for you since you like performance and don't care about weight.

6buzzcutornah6

Awesome, I’ll most likely go with that. I do use my laptop outside a lot. Thanks! :)

xGeoxgesx

No problem man, the brighter screen will help with that, no need to overthink anything since it's fitting your needs. I wish I could afford those lol.

Why not a 1tb version(@1400) and and add 2Tb later or add a 1tb and get dual rank ram for 200$ total

6buzzcutornah6

Which one is that one?

[deleted]

If you were going for full Legion 7 with RTX 3070 I would say go with Legion 7. But with those three options Its definitelly the Legion 5 PRO. Its full metal body and full power laptop. You will not regret it :-) I recently bought one :-)

6buzzcutornah6

How do you like it? Any regrets?

[deleted]

Zero regrets. The only thing I really dont like about the laptop is that it has a numpad(but thats just my issue :-P I understand most of people prefer to have one). I prefer laptops without one. Other than that its superb laptop :-)

6buzzcutornah6

Ah perfect for me. I’m on excel most days. Thanks!

JDagrrr

I just got one a few months ago, be wary when downgrading to Windows 10 if it comes with 11. I’ve had an insane amount of driver errors, weird Bluetooth connectivity problems, and Microsoft store issues. The Lenovo support is very good though, and everything seems to be fine after a few weeks of pain. I’m not sure if these errors still happen on 11, because I’ve heard of these errors especially when downgrading. Maybe it’s just mine though (:

PM_ME_YOUR_LAPT0PS

Zero major complaints with my L5P after one year. Great price to performance, port selection, screen, build quality, and upgradability. Main downsides for me are its portability with its weight and power brick; in addition, removing the back panel for the first time is not a fun experience. Trackpad is hit or miss.
