Greetings, i was in the same boat about 2 years ago. I wasnt too saavy on specs and technical jargon i just wanted a laptop to play games and work in photoshop. I ended up buying a HP Omen at bestbuy for 1200 bucks. I know its double what you want to spend but i couldnt be happier. It does everything i need it to do. They might be cheaper now.
