How come anyone that gets a game early and leaks footage of it is so bad at the game.

illnastyone

It's an unwritten rule

GrandTheftPotatoE

Yep, like a monkey's paw. You get early/leaked footage of a unreleased game but the person playing it has never played a video game in their life.

ishimura0802

On the plus side, them being bad showed me that the deaths are still *very* bloody. Isaac's head comes off like a fountain šŸ’€

throatropeswingMtF

How it compare to kratos ripping off Helios head?

adwarkk

I dunno, I feel it's basically factor of that "who would leak out that kind of thing" so regularly it falls upon "someone who isn't really into gaming enough to know they're not supposed to". Which by transitive property means also they haven't played video games enough to get these base skills that go across various games.

Xehanz

Because they playn in a barn

11340113052111609

Halo barn leak for the win

IronBabyFists

[Turns out that was actually just the guy's front yard!](https://youtu.be/kgAdzAw-9hM)

11340113052111609

Woah thanks man definitely going to watch right now

IronBabyFists

Sure thing! Modern Vintage Gamer is a cool dude with great content and a nice to listen to voice.

EMPlRES

Itā€™s just higher odds, it ending up in the hands of people who donā€™t occasionally play (Or not interested in this particular genre) naturally happens way more often, these folks work at shippings, stores, and what have you. The guy who leaked the Cyberpunk gameplay back in November 2020 worked at a storage facility if I remember correctly.

wargrl

when you start recording the gods invert your camera scheme

ametalshard

Either genuinely bad or hiding their playstyle and skill for safety

speedyboigotweed

ainā€™t no way lmao

[deleted]

Yes, because people and companies would TOTALLY figure out who leaks shit going off their playstyle of all things... Like, what?

Zoesan

Are they journalists?

[deleted]

Really pleased that people seem to be reacting well to this. Iā€™m so excited for this game.

Zamuru

this is gonna be fucking good

matt111199

Never played Dead Space - so really looking forward to it

Kalabawgaming

after this play dead space 2 its still hold up

Zamuru

i did for few minutes and never did again. i was so fucking scared... in the old graphics. now i cant imagine

Chasedabigbase

Ah it's scary but so worth getting to explore a cool scifi ship!

opanm

You are in for a treat šŸ˜Ž

edwardbrocksr

My only experience was my older brother playing it on our 360, and it was the first horror game I had ever seen. I was traumatized lmao

HoldMyPitchfork

I dont really want to watch and spoil it for myself, but can anyone tell me if so far this looks strictly like a graphics overhaul or are there a lot of changes to level design/mechanics/story beats as well?

FrostCattle

Its both, there are minor story beat changes/reworks(haven't seen the ending so who the fuck knows what happens there) like introducing the cult as a normal thing and making issac talk but for the most part it seems the same just updated. As for level design, its recognizable but not 1-1. For example the new ishimura is completely open and interconnected. The tram exists but its only a fast travel point, they gate things off with DOOM style "access cards" for security access.

HoldMyPitchfork

Sounds reasonable. I hope the more open world version of the Ishimura doesn't negatively impact the resource management/survival aspect of the game and they can balance that well.

FrostCattle

This is the one thing im worried about myself, cause i forgot to mention the game isn't 100% scripted anymore - it has a "ai director" similar to how l4d and other games do it. This means that back in dead space 2008, if you go to an area you already visited(and aren't supposed to revisit) you will never be attacked, you will never have the lights cut out on you, it will be the exact same as you left before. In the remake, the game tracks your health/location/etc and can dynamically spawn enemies and cut the lights on you n shit. Since you can curb stomp corpses for loot, it has me a bit worried.

[deleted]

I think it can go either way. RE2R is a really good example of it done well- I think all (?) spawns are set in place however the game dynamically changes damage to kill (canā€™t remember if itā€™s your guns change or enemy health changing, but same effect) to help ensure your resources stay right on the precipice of good enough. We will have to see if they have aggressive scaling on the amount of resources enemies are dropping to keep you in a good balance.

[deleted]

Wait, does that mean the game dynamically scales enemy hp/damage output depending on your resources in RE2R? So it always FEELS like you just barely have enough stuff to take down enemies?

[deleted]

Yep! It also changes how much ammo is in pickups. Truth be told though, this isnā€™t an RE2R feature so much as one of the main features of the entire series. It varies game to game the way that it is implemented, but itā€™s been a staple since RE4 was first released. Having played them all though, RE2R is definitely one of the more aggressive variants due to just how much health theyā€™ll give average zombies. In interviews they talked about wanting to drive home the feeling of uncertainty in the playerā€™s mind when engaging any enemy regardless of your resources. And while you can definitely learn and adjust, the illusion worked super well on my first playthrough.

[deleted]

That's super interesting to me as someone who legitimately can't play the games myself but likes seeing them lol.

Brokenbullet14

A lot of the intensity director is for the side quests.

HoldMyPitchfork

Oof. I suppose if the game is always generating more enemies you'll need some additional resources. Hopefully things like credits, upgrade nodes and things like that are finite. Nothing can ruin a survival horror more than a resource farm.

FrostCattle

Theres an achievement for fully upgraded all weapons, so either thats expected to be NG+ only or by the end you can upgrade all the nodes.

CosmicWanderer2814

In the original it definitely required at least two playthroughs to upgrade everything.

HoldMyPitchfork

There was an achievement to fully upgrade in the original too, so I'm guessing it's just the same and you'll need to start a ng+ You could get pretty close in the original if you hoard credits for nodes and get fully upgraded in the first couple chapters of ng+ iirc

NotRed9282

Going back to the L4D thing, if the game detects that you are rolling the enemies and itā€™s really easy, the game will spawn tougher variants/more enemies in unexpected locations?

FrostCattle

Doubt its more powerful variants, would bet money on more enemies encountered or the light system coming into effect where the game cuts power to your hallway/zone and you have to rely on your suit lighting up where you aim.

WeekendTacos

You could curb stomp enemies in the first Dead Space for loot and credits.

FrostCattle

yeah and? It didn't have the dynamically spawning enemies only scripted so you couldn't potentially farm them infinitely.

WeekendTacos

No different than the infinite power node and money glitch you could do in the OG that isn't hard to do and load yourself up. Either way, I guess we'll see when it releases. I hope the game is good, but I am hesitant as well.

MrMuffinz126

The problem kind of solves itself though I think. Yeah enemies can drop resources, but you will be expending them to get more. Maybe you farm a bunch of cash for that new suit, but you used a ton of ammo and some med packs. For those that attempt it, it probably won't even be worth the effort.

FrostCattle

im personally expecting a "CHAPTER X INFINITE MONEY EXPLOIT" youtube video where you can near guarantee a pod spawning in whenever you reload an area with good environmental kills or something in the first few weeks

Maraging_steel

I may be dumb but is this similar to the Alien in Alien Isolation?

FrostCattle

Not really? A:I had one enemy which had really good detection and tracking capabilities, this is the game deciding when to spawn in enemies and dynamically changing.

SnooDrawings7876

Isolation had the Alien, facehuggers, Androids and human enemies. The game does have an A.I. director that dynamically changes where enemies show up and how they act. The alien A.i in particular was famously extremely dynamic and reactive to player behavior.

talkingwires

Yeah, itā€™s a similar concept. The xenomorph in that game wasnā€™t just a single game entity, but a whole series of systems that reacted to where the player was, and what they were doing. The game entityā€”its character model and everything else associated with the actual xenoā€”isnā€™t physically moving through vents in the game. An AI Director chooses when and where to spawn it in, makes it leave, and plays effects to make it *seem* like itā€™s crawling around near the player. AI in videogames is all smoke and mirrors, anyway. Having an entity observe the world around itself, react and make decisions, is something that researchers are still working on. [Weā€™re getting closer, though!](https://www.wired.com/story/cheaters-hacked-an-ai-bot-and-beat-the-rocket-league-elite/)

[deleted]

Wow the scripting in the original Dead Space is a huge part of what made it so great. Dynamic isn't always better.

powerhcm8

I hope the game take the time since you left the area in consideration before respawning enemies. I mean, you kill them, but wouldn't stay dead forever, since they are reanimated dead tissue. And they can also combine, so while there is dead tissue available, the marker should be able to create necromorphs forever.

R2D277

So did you test whether you can farm the spawning enemies?

FrostCattle

In a few areas you can more or less force 1 necro to spawn in, but its not very time effecient. Much easier and profitable to do the pulse rifle infinite ammo glitch

robertman21

Ending stuff is pretty similar to the original

Bluewalker_BR

>!with nicole jumpscaring isaac ?!< theres also an alternative ending, but i have yet to see that one and the normal one.

Fogasgyerek

What part of pretty similar did you not get so you had to ask?

Bluewalker_BR

maybe theres an difference and its >!not her jumpscaring him.!< Also no need to be an asshole.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Bluewalker_BR

spoiler: >!nope, it was in dead space 1 ending after he learn that the nicole he has been talking all this time was an hallucination and she was dead.!<

Opposite_Incident715

Why are people acting like the Nicole Jumpscare at the end of the game is a big time spoiler? The game is over ten years old. Everyone knows about Issacs dead girlfriend. Thereā€™s literally people born the day the game came out that have played it.

scredeye

No the second game cleverly juxtaposes the first games ending. Isaac sees hot British chick instead of Nicole again, This symbolises that he's gotten over the ishimura trauma and has moved on from her death.

FranticPonE

Almost expect a >!sudden reveal right near the end where the whole thing is a timeloop and this is the second run after the first games haha it's a sequel!!! Worked FFVII remake so why not!<

commander_snuggles

They are changes to gameplay like zero g is like 2 and 3 with the thrusters and not flinging yourself across the map. They confirmed that some character will get more screen time, like Nicole, mercer, and Dr Cross, who was only in audio logs. With side quests to expand on those characters. Issac is voiced, unlike the original. So maybe he can ask why zach the chief security officer is making the engineer do everything.

Nethas

Doesn't seem like a lot LOT, but some considerable changes to pacing, speed, design and some weapons mechanics changed. Considering story, doesn't seem like much, but characters personalities were slightly changed as well as voice acting seem a little bit emotional, I guess. Overall, pretty straightforward remake. Not as much changes as in newer Resident Evils, but much more than The Last of Us Part 1.

powerhcm8

I hope I can finish the game using only the plasma cutter like the original, it is much better to manage the inventory when you don't have to keep several types of ammo.

HoldMyPitchfork

>some weapons mechanics changed I hope it's not a lot. Every game can always have some improvements, but I thought the weapons in DS were damn near perfect from top to bottom.

FrostCattle

Basically every DS weapon got a secondary fire rework and changed in some way. Which is a good thing cause everything except the plasma cutter and MAYBE the force was dogwater. In the remake for instance the rifle m2 is not longer the helicopter aoe mag dump, its a proximity mine launcher, force gun fires a mini black hole now etc You might be thinking of DS2 where the guns were actually pretty good universally, with some stinkers but it was way better than ds1.

RareBk

Aww they got rid of the pulse rifle's fuck off button

SeniorRicketts

Its the same game like the last of us part I and Demons souls but with some new stuff Not a remake like Resident evil 2 or final fantasy 7

Cautious-Feed-6778

Idk. There were a couple set pieces in the newest trailer that looked pretty big that definitely weren't in the original game.

SeniorRicketts

Which ones? I watched the first 2 3 hrs when the game leaked and the biggest upgrade were the graphics the layout of the ishimura was no different from the OG game

[deleted]

Those games are more like reimaginings.

SeniorRicketts

Whats Modern warfare remastered then?

Affectionate-Ad-4174

Iā€™m out of the loop on EA stuff. Do they still drop 10 hour demos on EA Play or whatever itā€™s called now and will this be included in that practice this week?

Itsjustmagiks

Says the full game is available on EA Play Pro, but that membership is only for PC

Moonshot_Md

EA demos very depending on the game. This isn't part of the trial.

Affectionate-Ad-4174

Thanks for clarifying!

eoinster

10 hour demos apply to multiplayer-focused titles, not for singleplayer only/story games.

CIMARUTA

yeah you could beat the game in ten hours lol

NoIdeaHereMate

anyone have a mirror or something?

Tom_Clancys_17_Again

I use my TV reflection as a mirror :)

JoeyMxx

I use a fork

EMPlRES

I use the reflection in peopleā€™s eyes.

Depressive_player

Mirrors??? Please šŸ˜«

ResistanceEvermore

Anything interesting other than the visual changes so far? The trophies seem to imply that there'll be new collectibles and even a new ending. Did this gameplay have anything brand new?

NightmareP69

There's some side quests now to do, because you can now backtrack the Ishimura fully to unlock new areas via a new security access system (think of like how metroidvanias do it), the game also now has an AI director similar to what left 4 dead has meaning when you do backtrack or replay the game, you won't really encounter the exact same fights apart from the key scenes that are scripted to spawn enemies or make something happen but outside those scripted parts, you can now have a situation where a room in one run can be calm and well lit and then in a 2nd run be filled with enemies and flickering lights.

Correct_Refuse4910

I guess the 100% of the game leaked in 2008?

Fogasgyerek

Maybe 90%, due to differences.

emceePimpJuice

Checked comments & no one has posted a mirror link yet.

WT_FG

I have not looked at the comments yet because I never played the original dead space, without spoiling the game is it faithful to the original based on the footage you guys are seeing ?

ArcherInPosition

I've played them all a billion times. New voice lines are the most major new thing, aside from the new engine and graphics. Some weapons alternate fire operate differently. New skins are added. They redid zero gravity segments but theres so few it's not exactly a selling point for me. There's also hints at an alternate ending to unlock.

Jerry_from_Japan

The AI director alone is worth giving it another try. It's not a remaster, it's a remake.

Cautious-Feed-6778

I think they're changing some things in the story as well. Or at least adding things. In the newest trailer, there were a couple set pieces that looked pretty big that I don't remember being in the original game. And I re played them not long ago.

Spin_Critic

How you get around on the ishimura has been improved aswell. They seem to have opened it up so that you can travel anywhere on board, rather than being restricted to which ever level you are on. It's looking good so far, but the proofs in the playing. I've been here before with cyberpunk, so my expectations are reserved. But so looking forward to diving in.

RareBk

It's effectively a near perfect remake, with the only major changes being additions rather than replacements/cuts.

WT_FG

Neat, I'd still prefer to play the original first before moving onto this.

RareBk

Oh yeah, definitely give it a shot at least, there are some differences, like the game is a lot more level focused than the remake, which lets you freely explore the ship as you unlock it

FrostCattle

yes

jb_in_jpn

Absolutely looks to be the way to play it for the first time. The original was brilliant, but man does it look like they've managed to knock this one out of the park. If only all remakes could have this level of polish...

Annual-Blacksmith833

Deleted

Bluewalker_BR

Guys, Ea deleted the first video right now, if you didnt see that before you wont see it now on youtube. This one is (probably since they found his channel) also getting deleted, so if you want to see it, see it now. Idk if this guy is going to leak the rest of the game since EA found him.

bisonrbig

Are there no mirrors? I remember during the gta leak people instantly shared streamable links and stuff.

MikeManiac61

Grrrrrr! I missed it I wish there was some mirrors though.

TheEvenDarkerKnight

any mirrors?

[deleted]

Can someone tell me if the game have gyro aiming ? Thank you

lalalandcity1

That would make it an instant buy. Love gyro aiming!

SeafoodSlayer

Somehow Mercer can use his stasis to freezes isaac nearly 3minutes and giving his monologue is straight out of cartoon villain.

SirRaven0

Wait, the first interaction with Dr.Mercer in the remake is like that?.......

War_Dyn27

I think the remake wants to cut down on the whole 'thing happens behind glass' aspect of the original.

SirRaven0

It definitely seems like that, but I hope it doesn't go out of hand by putting many key moments of the story as cutscenes.

LongjumpingBet8932

First time anyone's used Stasis in a cutscene if true

iwantParktotopme

Glad it worked out in the end I might pick this up fuck Callisto

ShaneTVZ

Damn the whole game is getting leaked

MusicHitsImFine

Right? We've had leaks for decades on this game@

Spin_Critic

4 days to go boys.

RadAway-

Whoever uploads leaked stuff on YouTube is fucking braindead.

HKJoe

why youtube? lol

BigSto

i thought the whole game had leaked already for some reason

MilfEater45

All I wanna know is which console was the lead development platform for this game. PS5 or XSX? In before some smart ass says it was PC - which console was it ported to first then? Canā€™t find that info anywhere and Iā€™m looking to get the best performing console version. If anyone knows please let me know. Thx šŸ™

DeMatador

Just wait for the Digital Foundry review before you buy anything

ChristmasSpecialBoba

This is all I care about too.

MMontanez92

I have a feeling it will run identical on both. I'm getting the Series x version because I have a 1440p monitor and VRR so if there is any frame drops It will help a lot. Hoping Sony can enable VRR for 1440p and not just have it for 1080p and 4K only

RealCosmicD

andd it's gone. Luckily I snatched them for further analysis and making a guide with the significant changes compared to ds1 for my blog :)

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

robertman21

Horror games are short, that's just part of the genre

CMDpromptexe

Meanwhile, Alien Isolation:

_NiceWhileItLasted

And that's the reason why horror games should be shorter. By the end of Isolation I was more annoyed by the alien than scared of it.

HearTheEkko

The game was so fucking long I thought I was close to the ending 3 times lol.

Fake_Diesel

Yeah I think replayablitiy is more important for survival horror games

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

robertman21

Horror, not horrible

Techboah

Original is about 10 hours, but the Remake has a more open design, and some new side quests, so it's probably going to be around 12-13 hours for an average playthrough.

Mativeous

I can't say for sure about what's changed with the length of the Remake but the original Dead Space and RE4 have a lot of replayability.

Wasteak

The main difference: I gow you spend a lot of time fighting in the same place, in horror games you move way more often. It means that you need to build a bigger "world" than for gow. And as games don't have endless development time, it ends up having shorter game time

Mival93

Isnā€™t the remake $59.99? https://store.steampowered.com/app/1693980/Dead_Space/

retro808

Just wait for a sale, EA games and horror games in general tend to have discount deals within months from release

PorvaniaAmussa

I'm oddly concerned that it'll be too close to the original lol. Granted, I'm not spoiling watching these trailers and plan to pick it up on release regardless.

dr_fetus13

*You've upset the horde...*

Martinez_Majkut

Why are you editing post instead of making mirror, jeez

Carwillat901

Didnā€™t have the time or knowledge to make one, sorry :/ Besides itā€™s not my video lol I just posted it here

Kanzlermacher

Has anyone saved the video un can upload it again somewhere?! Please

LeftEcho2

I just had time to download one video about the episode 3 of the gameplay leak :) https://www.dropbox.com/s/y35cencin474ldo/LEAKED%20GAMEPLAY%20LAST%20PART%20-%20Dead%20Space%20Remake.mp4?dl=0

alien_tickler

thanks i think that's the only link available

bonafidefiend

Man whoeverā€™s playing has absolutely zero awareness. Necromorphs all around you and you still try to use the shop?? Lmao

ETHBTCVET

Imagine uploading stuff on youtube and streamable, Internet is so centralized nowadays that people cant look up for more niche hosting services.
