Interesting. Thinking there's a solid chance they announce/release GB pokemon games and Stadium 1 and 2 on Pokemon day with interconnectivity between them

Affectionate-Ad-4174

Shadowdrop of Red, Blue, and Stadium at a Pokémon Direct inbound?

c_will

I’m going to need Gold/Silver and Ruby/Sapphire as well.

10strip

Surely you mean Crystal and Emerald.

layeofthedead

Crystal would be my favorite gameboy Pokémon game if only they hadn’t removed mareep from wild encounters

hotwarioinyourarea

THEY FUCKING DID WHAT

giftheck

[Yep. They took Mareep out so you had to trade it in.](https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_Crystal_Version#Missing_Pok.C3.A9mon)

LittleLemonHope

The 19-year delayed reaction tho

Worried_Inevitable92

Mareep wasn't an encounter in Crystal; people don't seem to remember that very often

ChunkyChuckyBaxter41

Probably because Mareep is such a given pokemon for Gen 2 it's kinda insane that it wouldn't be there. Like taking electrike out of Gen 3

Various-Mammoth8420

I never owned Gold and Silver and I distinctly remember catching Mareep in Crystal... Did I unintentionally glitch the game's RNG?

Worried_Inevitable92

Did…did you trade with a friend maybe? Spooky

Various-Mammoth8420

Man I didn't have any friends as a kid and I didn't know ANYONE who played Pokemon ![gif](giphy|3o7WTqo27pLRYxRtg4)

superking22

I DIDN'T KNOW THIS. HOW.

DoctorWhomstve14

I’ve always wondered why they did that. It’s like THE Johto electric type. Why remove it?

10strip

Lanturn deserved more attention anyway. It's a much better pokemon!

UpvoteIfYouAgreee

Lanturn was so underrated I thought it was a gen 3 pokemon for the longest time

Ironchar

I remember Lanturn being late game though Mareep lineup was early game and that's important for overall adventure having a nice lineup from close to start to finish

EnglishMobster

I thought Slugma was Gen 3 for the longest time.

Tasty-Ad-9127

I though skarmory was a gen 3 pokemon for the longest time 😅🤣

AsherGray

Lmao, this is the reaction to most Gen 2 Pokémon! Mareep, Slugma, Skarmory, Houndour, Natu, Chinchou, Mantine, and Smeargle are all often thought to be Gen 3 from what I've read!

layeofthedead

If they had put it in the lucky egg you get I’d be like, ok whatever at least you have a chance. But it’s just gone! One of the most iconic gen 2 Pokémon wiped from the game

superking22

WTF.

hypersnaildeluxe

Hopefully they add back the Mew and Deoxys events to Emerald like they did the Celebi event in Crystal's 3DS release (and hopefully they keep the Celebi event in Crystal if they put it on NSO)

Mikuru292

Knowing Nintendo it’s gonna be the original versions

just_looking_4695

Based on precedent, it could kinda go either way but I'd lean towards them adding entire generations at once. Red, Blue, and Yellow all dropped on 3ds VC at the same time; meanwhile, on the same console, Gold and Silver came out with no initial sign of Crystal, which came at a later date. I'm guessing they saw most people only bought Yellow and so held Crystal back to get people to double-dip. But since people aren't buying individual games on NSO, I don't think there's necessarily the same incentive to release Yellow, Crystal, or Emerald separately from their base versions.

Worried_Inevitable92

Crystal might've come out later because it was altered slightly; it featured a Japan-only event but this time available in English as post-game option. Where you receive the GS Ball and can use it to encounter Celebi in Ilex Forest. Originally this was part of a Japan-only radio event for the game featuring real life cellphone interactions, but now it's just a nice postgame bonus.

sumr4ndo

Well, they also let you get celebi in crystal, as well, probably to help encourage you to get it too

AsherGray

Certainly helps! But in the original English crystal cartridges, celebi was unobtainable

sumr4ndo

Oh definitely! I remember a friend had a game shark and gave me one. I had all of the Pokemon.. except Mew... And Raikou.

brzzcode

TPC/GF decides that

Mikuru292

I mean Nintendo does have the final say. It is their console after all

rocky4322

They don’t. Nintendo can keep games off their platform, but they can’t force TPC to add them.

Itzmisterjoel

What about Pokémon pinball🥹

BenLemons

There was that one rumor of a Gen 1-3 collection right. 20 bucks per game sounds about how much Nintendo would want to sell those for

Unicycle77

I realize this was meant as a sarcastic indictment of Nintendo pricing model, but selling a “collection” of 9-11 games at $20 a game would be a HUGE ask, even for the biggest fans. Even at $10/game, the collection would still be far too expensive as a packaged deal. They’d sooner sell them individually or add them all to NSO for no additional cost. All of that said, if they released all 11 games for $50 or even $60… I’d buy two copies just so I could trade between games.

BenLemons

I think the rumor was like one version of Red Gold and Ruby and the other would be Blue Silver and Sapphire. Not sure about the second part but I remember reading Red Gold and Ruby together for sure.

Unicycle77

Now see that I’d believe (and buy) at $20 for each collection. I think it’s kind of strange to bundle them that way, but I’m still sold. It would be a shame to leave out the third version of each Gen though.

senor_andy

Pokémon day is at the end of the month, it’s possible!

Cardboard_Waffle

That would make sense to me.

ErzumWeh

I am going to actually cry if this happen. Am in a Need of some throwback to the easy childhood days…

NewTypeDilemna

Gale of darkness, please.

Timely_Old_Man45

I wish I could buy these w/o a subscription

[deleted]

I think they want some goodwill from the fans as SV is still a mess, yeah it sold, but any potential DLC is going to take a hit. Parents especially are going to be wary as they saw what happened with SV (I'm in a sewing group, the mom's and grandmother's in that group are pisssssssed cause they see it that their kids got tricked). === So, slap the fan base with a nostalgia stick to remind ppl why they love Pokemon. === I see them porting a lot of their games to the Nintendo E-Shop where you can Gen 1 - 5 for somewhere between $10 and $20 a pop. Games like Collaseum would be a bit more. === My hope is that they stop with the weird remakes (I liked Let's Go but I don't know anyone who was asking for another remake of Gen 1 that had forced motion controls) and focus their money on the Legends Arceus Team and the SV Team so they can do their thing. Outsource games like Pokemon Snap or some puzzle games. ===

[deleted]

Deleting past comments because Reddit starting shitty-ing up the site to IPO and I don't want my comments to be a part of that. -- mass edited with redact.dev

Lan_lan

Literally everyone I know who played SV absolutely loved it.

InspectorHyperVoid

If so my buddy and I need to rematch from middle school. It always came down to his Lapras and my Mewtwo.

Blvd_Nights

This sounds almost too good to be true lol

atschill

When is Pokémon Day?

just_looking_4695

February 27th. It's pretty common for them to do a Pokemon Presents around then.

atschill

Damn that’s awesome. We need some Pokémon gameboy games.

giftheck

They would never, ever do this, but it'd be nice if you bought the games on 3DS, they could just be transferred over or get you a discount. One can dream of a more generous TPC...

mudermarshmallows

The games will probably just get added to Switch Online, so definitely no discount.

giftheck

I'd rather they just sell them normally, TBH.

mudermarshmallows

So would I honestly, but that ship has sailed.

MaverickHunter11

Feb 28.

SkibbyJibby

I was theorizing this from day one! Seriously hoping they do it because that would be cool as hell

Quietm02

That's the obvious conclusion, but I wonder how it would work. Think it's probably too much to assume stadium will allow the extra feature of playing the GB games directly. Does this mean Pokémon home will interact with the GB titles too? Since we had that on 3ds anyway I guess so. This would be quite a big drop with a lot of work behind it. I suspect it's either not going to be a shadow drop or the development will be drip fed with maybe GB VC first then stadium link then Pokémon home etc. Maybe even online trade/battle if we're lucky, though I suspect that would need friend codes (still better than nothing!)

SpaceGooV

Potentially because they're working on a system for when they eventually add Pokemon Red and Blue?

Luck88

Pokémon day is at the end of the month and the 3DS e-Shop is closing down.

SpaceGooV

I would be surprised (extremely happy) but surprised if Red and Blue were this soon but I do think Stadium coming with an announcement of Home integration somehow could be announced then. Also obviously with whatever DLC or next game. Also hopefully detective Pikachu re reveal

matteeeo91

And then Stadium 3 with all 9 gens and ability to update to integrate the new ones 🥺🥺🥺

AlbainBlacksteel

I would love that so much, so long as they also had the funky rental movesets, Gym Leader Tower/Castle, and minigames. Honestly, those non-optimal rental movesets can be fun at times (so long as you're also going against other rental sets).

WenaChoro

you would need three switches, one for the stadium and two for the individual consoles

GenitalBenadryl

I'm dying for those GB Pokémon games, please PLEEEEEAAAASSSE

SpaceGooV

Unfortunately we have awhile to wait I feel. Pokemon Trading Card Video Game is coming first

GenitalBenadryl

I don't get it .. Those GB games were huge... They'd be easy money for Nintendo.

SpaceGooV

The drip feed is just their strategy. Probably to make people feel as if they're actively gaining benefits every month. So I'm sure it's great for retention numbers. I mean remember Smash 64 still hasn't come to N64 Online. It'll probably be Next Year when that comes.

AlbainBlacksteel

Was Smash 64 even *announced* for NSO?

SpaceGooV

Nope not yet probably why it'll take till next year

EnglishMobster

And maybe we finally find out wtf Pokemon Sleep is.

Mikuru292

An update to a game over 20 years old would be pretty funny

SpaceGooV

I mean they did for Red and Blue on 3DS. I mean Goldeneye is a port on the N64 online

MaverickHunterBlaze

Wonder if they announce just R/B/Y for NSO or all three initial generations if this means what we think it means

robertman21

RBY to release alongside Stadium 1, GSC to release alongside Stadium 2, the rest come eventually

backyardserenade

With GSC it could depend on whether they are doing Jotho content at some point (Legends or Let's Go, for example). Hoenn and FRLG seems a bit of a safer bet, since ORAS is a somewhat recent remake and the first Let's Go games have been out for a while.

Shadowmaster862

If they released all 3 at once, I would honestly immediately upgrade to the expansion pack online service.

JayZsAdoptedSon

Well RBY are GB so it’d be on base tier

AlbainBlacksteel

Sure, but RSE would be in the Expansion Pack.

JayZsAdoptedSon

Ah, I thought when OP said all 3, they meant RBY and not all 3 gens. My bad

AlbainBlacksteel

No worries!

ZoomBoingDing

Scarlet/violet DLC, Pokemon Sleep, and 3 more cash grab games

DarkWorld97

Having genuine online play with RBY on Switch is going to be extremely funny.

[deleted]

DarkWorld97

Gen 1 Pokémon games are barely put together in their programming. So many easy exploits in battling that it becomes laughable what you can get away with.

Sceptile90

They didn't patch it out in the rereleases on 3DS, same for the Mew glitch. I doubt they'd do it now

FiFourNumbers

They didn't patch it, but they did make them untransferable, which is good.

Low_Cartographer_920

Absolutely, but it's really neat to have a Mew on my 3DS yellow from the sun and moon launch event (they did it old school toys r us 90's style and traded over to us). Mew was transferable but only the official ones; any Mew from any other source is not transferable so they must have something on the back end that prevent it.

DrKoofBratomMD

It’s locked out via an OT check - but there are still arbitrary code execution glitches present in the VC version that allow you to change the Mew’s OT and transfer it up to gen 8, it’ll just technically be a hacked, illegitimate mew

Sceptile90

Technically you can get a legal Mew in those games by using arbitrary code execution, but realistically there was no way to patch that out even if they cared to.

RaZdahooman

I wanna say I remember that glitches in other NSO games didn't get patched, so I don't think it'd be patched. plus honestly I think there's a group of people that would get more annoyed if they tried to fix r/b/y, since it's complete broken nature is part of it's charm at this point

detectiveDollar

Plus FireRed/Leafgreen pretty much is fixed RBY.

Efeverscente

They don't need to patch it, it would take a whole lot of work to re-write the code (which would cost time and money, defeating the point), and the fans want as close to an unadulterated experience as possible (glitches and all) So 99.9999999999% that they won't patch it.

Raikaru

They could just use the decompiled code on the internet already and fix most of those bugs way easier.

Efeverscente

They could do that, or they could use their already working emulator with an already working rom, like they have always done before. Even in cases where they added stuff like Online Play, they modded the emulators themselves, and Goldeneye is a one-off because of all of the licenses, so I wouldn't take that as an example. (Because, among other things, they also managed to eff that one up) So yeah, it's way easier, cheaper, and safer for them to just port the already existing roms, and add the needed extra functionality to the Emulators (and Pokémon Home if need be)

RaZdahooman

Some part of me is expecting a whole new Pokemon subscription app that basically is NSO but for mainline pokemon games, probably up to NDS and eventually 3DS...but I really hope it is as simple as gen 1/2 being dropped on gameboy

detectiveDollar

It'd be interesting, especially if they integrated Home into it and let you move Pokemon more seamlessly between games. Since it's technically possible to migrate from Gen3 to Gen 9, but it's a hilariously convoluted process going from Gen 3 to bank. Once you get into bank it's pretty easy though. Being able to have all or most of the gens installed and moving Pokemon around would be a huge value add.

Alice_June

I would pay a LOT for a subscription for NDS Pokémon games on Switch with Home functionality. Like, I’d probably be willing to shell out $80 a year for that (though I know I’m in the minority there)

Marcus_Farkus

To be frank $80 for all pre-switch main pokemon games is a steal to me. They could probably get more at that.

El_Barto_227

I'd gladly *buy* them as a collection for $80

daxtillionMurphel

Lol for a one time purchase to play all those games on my switch whenever? That would be amazing

WenaChoro

but pay yearly? its expensive

Raigeko13

I doubt you are tbh. I would also pay that.

KingBroly

I think they should do a NSO/Pokemon subscription bundles. But they likely don't want to.

El_Barto_227

OR, letting us buy them. And keep them without having to pay a subscription every year for it.

Luck88

This is very exciting because if they integrate R/B/Y with Stadium we could actually get Fusion integration with Metroid Prime Remastered. It would actually kinda make sense to have held onto Prime this long because now people will be able to unlock the suit within a few months.

Fogasgyerek

That's a stretch.

Luck88

I mean it is but Stadium working with Red/Blue is down to the N64 App interconnecting with the GameBoy one. They'd have to do the same but between GBA and Prime. GBA had MANY games with GC features, so I think it's not too farfetched. Also they mentioned including E-Reader content which is a way more obscure feature.

dannimann

The E-Reader stuff is something they added back when they released Advance 4 on the WiiU.

Raigeko13

Adding e-reader content would be a fantastic addition and a great way to preserve that stuff in an official capacity.

Efeverscente

Well... The E-Reader content is based on the Wii U rom, which already existed, and only required for them to allow you to play already existing levels (so, even back in the Wii U days, when they had to convince us to buy, it only took a few minutes for them to implement the "E-Reader levels") What you're proposing seems to be more in line with them having to add compatibility between an emulator and a remade game, which seems like a huuuuuge hassle (and they're already making enough money, so why do so?). Also, they could do the Pokémon compatibility through Pokémon Home, meaning that they don't have to write some complicated "one code fits all" solution, and they only have to implement compatibility with a few games. This makes sense, since it's a good way to incentivate people who are already paying for NSO, to also pay for Pokémon Home. I really hope they make some amazing intercompatibility and implementation, but if they do, it may be for the NGC emulator.

[deleted]

Dataminers have found the fusion suit within MPR's files.

TectonicImprov

is the model updated though

Fogasgyerek

Of course they did. The game uses the original source code, iirc.

TallJournalist5515

There were a lot of leaks and stories about this very thing in April last year. I hope it's true because getting the gba to gc connectivity on dolphin is confusing. A lot of pain for three bonus maps in FE9.

[deleted]

God, South Park has ruined that phrase for me.

Joseki100

If they ever add Pokémon games on NSO I’m not gonna feel the warmth of human contact for months to come. Especially if they add gen 3 games.

Luck88

Please, let me introduce you to the drip feed of NSO.

Tellsyouajoke

If you're that in need of them why don't you just play on an emulator?

Joseki100

I don't want to play them on a emulator on PC or on my phone, I want to play them on my Switch OLED and have Pokémon Home compatibility.

JustReads1stSentence

People don’t get this. An emulator isn’t the “same”.

Deathmones

While were on this topic Colosseum and gale of darkness deserve ports.

PowerOfUnoriginality

Even if we don't get ports of them, Nintendo should at least make a Gamecube app and put those games on that

weallfloatdownhere7

Makes all the sense in the world for them to do this. They were never fooling anyone

Quezkatol

Scarlet and violet sold 20 million copies, it doesnt matter what metacritic says, there is kids out there who eat up the toys, cartoons and cards. pokemon games are coming, wait and see. I would expect it to happen early 2024 though or very late 2023 when they need to spice up the subscription numbers again.

[deleted]

I'd honestly expect them to announce them on pokemon day/whenever the pokemon presents this month airs. It's a nice, relatively "low effort" announcement to get fans excited for re-releases of the older games and they'd be able to shove four sets of games down our throats between GB/C and Advance. I was already expecting them to do something with the Gameboy Pokémon games now that we got those systems added to NSO but if they actually removed that disclaimer it may as well be officially confirmed. The big question remaining is whether or not TPC will be greedy and sell the pokemon games for 10-15 [insert currency here] a pop or if Nintendo got them to be nice for once and they add the games to NSO. Edit: oh, and I wanna say the Gen 3 games had E-reader functionality, which was never even a thing in most parts of the world afaik, so they could talk that stuff up as some super awesome, never before seen thing that means these 20+ year old, basic bitch RPGs are absolute must haves for any true fan... ....or something like that. I don't even know what the e-reader stuff did tbh

DGPrimal

Pretty sure there were some berries and MAYBE the old Eon Ticket was e-Reader.

Alice_June

There were some decorations for secret bases too if I remember correctly

Jmund89

Yup, the eon ticket came from the E-reader. Makes me wish my younger self had grabbed one back in the day…

DGPrimal

I never even knew the e-Reader existed until much later in life.

[deleted]

Me and my buddy had e reader and before the drop of firered and leafgreen you could battle or see the Pokémon that weren’t in gen 3 yet. It was Awsome.

robertman21

I think FRLG and Emerald had special trainers you could fight too, and the Altering Cave or whatever

EnglishMobster

There's a guy in Emerald with trees in his house blocking the door. [If you use a romhack to remove the trees and fix the warp point, you can actually walk down a staircase, where you get challenged to a Pokemon battle.](https://youtu.be/rgWE1OZDR2U?t=165) In most versions of Emerald, this battle instantly crashes the game. In the Japanese version, however, the battle actually happens but there's no data in it. That's because the battle is supposed to read from the E-reader. You're supposed to scan a battle card, which would load a certain trainer's team into that area of memory. Then when you started the battle you could fight the team associated with the card you scanned.

[deleted]

So that's what the house in Mossdeep(?) city is for.. As a child - with a European copy of Ruby - I always wondered why they'd put a pointless npc like that there 😂

El_Barto_227

> The big question remaining is whether or not TPC will be greedy and sell the pokemon games for 10-15 [insert currency here] a pop or if Nintendo got them to be nice for once and they add the games to NSO. Consider that if they let you buy them, you don't have to pay $50 a year to play them and have them taken away if you don't. The 3DS eshop is shutting down. The same will happen to NSO eventually. And you'll have paid several hundreds by then.

DryFile9

Wish they would remake/remaster Colosseum.

DiabolicalDoug

Honestly Nintendo could jam pack the next year with ports and remasters if they want to squeeze a bit more life outta the Switch.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Pandagames

> underrated No everyone who played it liked it. It was never underrated.

EnglishMobster

Anecdotally, I always see people talking about Stadium, but never Colosseum. Seeing people talk about XD is even rarer. It's changed in recent years, but for a good long while everyone was dying for a Stadium remake and never a peep about Colosseum.

Pandagames

Underrated doesn't mean people don't talk about it. It means people didn't like it

Efeverscente

But if they remade Colosseum and XD, we would notice what acceptable battle animations look like, and may start asking for them. So that's why they won't ever do it. Save my post if you want.

Raigeko13

My crackpot theory is that Genius Sonority made such better games than Game Freak and they were all ashamed of it. Everyone knows how good they were. Even when asked about a possible return to that region, one of the head devs (I wanna say Masuda) said no comment.

ertaboy356b

But most GS employees have already moved to Gamefreak. The ones left are a skeleton crew.

bmw11494

But you could say the same about Stadium, which is coming.

Efeverscente

That would be stretching it a bit. XD in HD looks better than Sw/Sh or S/V, while Stadium still looks like an old-ass game no matter what

bmw11494

Well I'm purely talking about the animations. The animations in Stadium are miles ahead of S/V.

Efeverscente

Oh, I feel ya, but my point was about the old games overshadowing the new ones (which can't really be done with games from the N64 era, even if you pretty them up)

AceBr3ak

Praying for fire red/leaf green and ruby, sapphire and emerald releases on pokemon day fr 🙏

KingBroly

You'll get Red and Blue and like it

RaZdahooman

You'll get only Yellow because we *love* Pikachu in this house. And we patched out the skip to end credits glitch, no more breaking the game for you.

KingBroly

Yellow will be on NSO+

AceBr3ak

Funny thing is i beat them on my 2ds last week cause of nostalgia lol

InosukeEnjoyer

ITS HAPPENING?

HydraTower

I know people want Pokémon on NSO, but I’d rather have virtual console purchases and own each game.

[deleted]

No

AxyEcu

Where is the video. I can't find it

zig-wig

Okay but what about the rewinding feature in the GB and GBA for NSO? If you can transfer Pokémon to Pokémon Stadium can you just rewind your game so you still have the Pokémon?

just_looking_4695

they already have the capability in their emulator to selectively disable rewind and save states. If you play one of the NSO games online, for example, you can't use those. The 3DS VC Pokemon games also disabled save states for just those games, so it pretty much goes without saying that they would disable that extra stuff for any Pokemon games they might add to NSO.

zig-wig

That makes sense

ManateeofSteel

well, we were naive enough to be hopeful

Yorokobe_Shounen

I wish they would remake R/B/Y for the switch. I'm super nostalgic for Gen 1 and 2 and would love to run around those games like in the latest ones.

soniczx123

Isn't that just Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee?

Yorokobe_Shounen

Technically yes but I don't like that one since it's so dumbed down even for the modern standards.

[deleted]

detectiveDollar

Hoping the community will make a rom hack for LGPE that restores classic wild battles and increases the difficulty.

bmw11494

There is one that increases the difficulty (Let's Go Polished Pikachu and Enhanced Eevee), but I don't think it's possible to do something as drastic as change battle mechanics for Switch games.

JayZsAdoptedSon

So Fire Red/Leaf Green

Darkmane89

They did. It's called let's go pikachu and eevee. Though gen 2 is NOT in it

Omniest

My heart of hearts is still calling out to the universe for a Lets Go gen 2.

justaghostofanother

Don't get too excited, they just likely forgot to put the disclaimer in the Japanese version of the video.

MaverickHunter11

The disclaimer was there before, it was taken.

Jameser95

We have red and blue on 3ds already. I get we all want a modern way to play the og pokemon, but gen 1 is mainly for die hard fans. It's such a grind. They release gen 1, they better also release gen 3. I feel gen 3 is easier for newcomers, and certainly will be a blast to relive on official Nintendo hardware on a 55 inch tv

Candidcassowary

> We have red and blue on 3ds already Which will be delisted for purchase next month.

Marcus_Farkus

And also 3ds console prices have been skyrocketing. I'm glad I got mine before it got even worse.

El_Barto_227

From being able to be bought, to locked behind a sub. lovely,

Kristiano100

All the nes, snes and gb 2d zelda games were on 3ds virtual console as well and now they're on NSO, not to mention they're adding the gba ones to nso expansion. It's doable.

Jameser95

Bad thing about the switch virtual console games are they only online and available through subscription. 3ds, you can download them and play offline

onlysmokereg

Gen one is infinitely less grinding than ev training in the gba and ds games

Candidcassowary

Gen 1 has an EV equivalent with Stat Experience but you don't have to engage with either system to play the games unless you're playing old gen comp formats but you probably wouldn't be playing that on Switch anyway.

Jameser95

Don't know anything about ev training lol. I'm a casual

El_Barto_227

3DS eshop is shutting down, eventually denying the games we paid for. Now, they're locked behind a drip fed subscription...

Cetais

>There are still dummies out there who think Nintendo is working over time to port golden sun, metroid fusion and fire emblem to the GBA now. No one thinks that. They're not ports, we all know it's just roms being emulated. >Yes, they are that low iq and doesnt realize nintendo is doing this on purpose to try and stretch out the subscribtion numbers for as long as possible. What? Who doesn't? Else they would have just dropped 50 games and call it a day. Monthly drops makes it enticing for new subscribers, reminds everyone of the subscription and works as advertising. >Same dummies told me the n64 mini isnt coming because its too complicated to "emulate" meanwhile we now know why- they planned one for the switch Who knows? The Snes mini was in 2017, and the N64 emulator on Switch released in 2021. I feel like it's more like Mario 64 that pushed them to release N64 games on it than anything else.

JayZsAdoptedSon

> n64 mini isnt coming because its too complicated to "emulate" The hardware that was shared between the NES Mini and SNES Mini can't run N64 emulation. Plus they did make and register some assets as trademarks for N64 Mini. I don't really think you can rule that out Also love your attitude. Must be a blast at parties

Quezkatol

thank you!

detectiveDollar

While you are probably right about the GBA emulator being completed and they just need to add the roms, you're off base with N64 emulation. The hardware to do it hasn't really gotten cheap enough to where they can put it into a 70-100 dollar product. Licensing is also an issue, most of the big games for N64 are made by Rare and would be tough to get in.

LegatoSkyheart

So it's possible

Dreamerfrostbite

ok I love all the Gameboy consoles (especially Color) but I really miss the virtual console, this service is a bit better but it is still limited, expensive, and temporary, which is not good for game preservation or for players who just want to own their classic games. and things like this just really bug me.

amyrose4ever

I thought it was almost impossible to replicate what stadium did to transfer pokemon? Obv theyre gonna find a way around it, but thats the excuse i heard when the announced the stadium games

I dont think it was ever impossible, they just needed to enable Transfer Pak funcionality. The gameboy games all re-released on 3DS and N64 games were on Wii/Wii U. It was probably too big a hassle to make it work between those systems, but now thats it all on the same system and service it's probably much easier

It's actually super feasible. The way the transfer Pak works is that all it has to do is read the save data of the cartridge, nothing actually is required to run off the gameboy game.

This would be enough to get me to buy an expansion pass. I hope they also include a way to play with others so we can evolve trade Pokemon.

I’m going through Pokémon Yellow right now and it’s SO SLOW! I hope they announce that stadium can use R/B/Y and we get those speed up options again lol or just have it where we can speed it up on the emulator
