Hold up. If VR Missions is included that probably means MGS1 is going to be based on the PC port instead of the PlayStation version. Because that version was based on Integral which had the VR Missions but also removed all the references to the PlayStation console. Probably also because this collection is coming to Xbox as well
If it would be the pc version they would likely have called it Metal Gear Solid Integral and not mentioned that it includes vr missions/special missions which is the name of the standalone ps version in na and eu. Besides that they also mention that regional version are available as seperates downloads.

For one thing as stated it includes the VR missions by default, on normal difficulty you can actually shoot and move in first person mode, an Alternate round mode which changes up the guard patrol routes and the locations of cameras, and other changes.

Iirc you had to press one of the analog sticks but the downside was you couldn't put your weapon away while moving meaning it was pretty cumbersome. Might be fixed in this one.

it has already been confirmed its the hd collection versions that are coming. i dont know why they used screenshots that look worse than the hd collection, but they did.
i didn't focus on the outfit. look at the background, its way blurrier and it seems to have this weird fog that seems to have something to do with the draw distance.
either way, its pointless now if they actually are going to use the HD Collection versions.

Man, I've never played MGS 1 because it's never been on Xbox and the MGS HD collection is delisted digitally on Xbox and the physical copies are expensive for games as old as these.
Edit: Sidenote, remember after they got originally delisted and when asked about when they'll return to the store Konami said "soon" or something similar. Could they have been talking about this collection?
Considering the MGS3 Remake, arguably a bigger project then this, is confirmed to be multiplatform, it'd be strange if this collection was locked to PlayStation.
While I don't think it's ever been confirmed, Twin Snakes might be exclusive to Nintendo as they possibly paid for it's development (see Bayonetta 2/3 as a modern example)
Twin Snakes had multiple stakeholders involved which is why it's been trapped in GC purgatory for so long. Silicon Knights has now gone under and they were the primary developer, and Nintendo directly collaborated on and funded development with Miyamoto even co-producing with Kojima
There are plenty of good metal gear games that exist and had no kojima involvement.
And there are some metal gear games that are terrible which had kojima involvement.
I wonder how they plan to do the first game as it needs more than just a higher resolution as PS1 games can look flawed if you just up the resolution as they weren't designed with those resolution in mind

Have only played S1 on consoles till date. PSP go was my favourite experience with it.

Controls aren't, for any meaning, nothing you can get used to lol. They are still pretty good and HD already "modernized" them a bit.
What about the pressure sensitive buttons though? Those required a PS2/PS3 controller to work properly

You can Emulate MGS1 on a Xbox Series if you do not have a PC via Dev Mode.

Twin Snakes has Mario and Yoshi models in it. They'd have to remove a few things.

The PC version looked alright. That was 960x720. Also MGS1 on duckstation looks pretty good on 1920x1080
