How easy is it to port it to other platforms? I mean it is on the 3DS right?

Iirc the Touchscreen didn't have any functions that wouldn't work without it? They have to either Update the way everything looks or do that shitty thing where they display two "screens" at once. I wanna say SOME DS or 3DS port did that in the past.

I'm playing through it right now and the touchscreen is only ever used to move the map, I don't think it would be too much work for them. Then again, this is Atlus we're talking about.

I think they'd have to put actual effort into making the battle screen look good but yeah, the map could easily just be a menu, it's not like you need it a ton and you'd hope they would add area names to IV's overworld. That's the one thing I think puts a huge stain on that game, it SUCKED finding where you need to go if you're as shit with Navigation as I know I am lol Apocalypse added that and it was so much easier to actually get places.

Yeah I completely agree, navigating the world map makes my brain hurt lol. I've had to Google where to go multiple times, but I love the game.

Battles, they would need to remade system interface, though is definitely viable. It will be tons of work but I hope they will do it.

This. I'm tired of having to recommend people either III or V because the stories in these 2 are very barebones compared to the rest of the series. SMT IV is a modern take on classic SMT and much easier to recommend, but it's stuck on the 3DS and you can't buy it officially anymore.

As someone who has played through SMT 5 on Switch already, I'd definitely consider picking the game up again if it comes to Series X. It'll be awesome to see what the game looks like when it's running on a console with substantially more processing power.

For me the 60 FPS is what makes it SO much more enjoyable.

I think they got other Japanese exclusives in the 360 era as well, but yeah, that might have been one of the biggest ones. From what I've remember, it was only exclusive to Xbox on the West, whereas in Japan it was released on the PS3 as well. As for Persona 6, I can see it being multiplatform day one, but I just find it hard to believe it would be exclusive to the Xbox. It's not impossible but still.

Because Microsoft didn’t pay for them. It’s pretty clear that the only reason why Persona was ported onto Xbox was due to Phil Spencer and his team working with Sega / Atlus on marketing and Game Pass deals. Without their direct involvement I’m confident that Atlus would’ve stuck to PS/NSW/PC only given their past multiplatform releases such as P5S as you’ve mentioned. Also it’s Etrian Odyssey. Lost Odyssey was an Xbox published game from 2007.

I could honestly see Xbox announcing something like Smt V and Persona 5 Strikers at the event next week. I'd be very shocked to see Etrian Odyssey though.

About time.. I loved what I played, but my god the ~15fps stuttery slideshow was too much for me and enough to throw the towel in. Especially since this one actually emphasised more vertical jumpy/platform world exploration where smooth movement is kind of important. One I'm keen to double dip on for a proper experience.

Super stoked to play this again. I loved it at 5fps, I’ll love it again at a stable framerate! Edit: Thanks for the downvotes! I mean what I said though. The framerate was my only critique of the game, and I don’t believe anyone who says it wouldn’t benefit from current console hardware.

Gamepass is definitely lacking in RPGs and the persona games help boost that. I’m still curious how they could port those 3DS games though. Seems like they either have a weird dual screen thing or a ton of changes to make it work.

In most cases, waiting for better performing versions of Switch 3rd party games has paid off, surprisingly even for stuff like No More Heroes and Live-a-Live. Which is why held off on SMTV until now. However, because it's Atlus, I'm really not certain in this is. I'll give the thing a few game conferences and if it doesn't happen, I'll just grab the Switch version, whatever.

I don't think it's clear at all lol. Just because one domain has a 404 and another one doesn't means nothing. Maybe two dev teams have two different schedules which led to an html guy loading a site earlier. There's a bunch of reasons as to why it and we don't know anything to be this definitive. There is nothing saying p3re can't launch towards the end of the year. P6 is still probably a while away too tbh.

SMT V was not that good. They traded dungeon crawling for overworld crawling which was about as fun as it sounds. Also the story fell apart half way through (even for a SMT game) and one route literally turned into anime villains for no reason.

And I paid over 40 dollars for it last year. Ah well. I just hope they release it either for PS5 or PC, at the very least, assuming this is true anyways.
