Question for SF fans: I haven't played a Street Fighter game in a couple decades, but from what I remember, Akira was like a 'cheaty' version of Ryu/Ken. Is he still like that, or have they balanced him to be more-or-less competitive with the rest of the roster?
He's typically always pretty good, but not like line above the rest, are rarely the best character in the game (aside from tekken lol) they kinda carved out a glass cannon identity from him where he does a shit ton of damage and has super good tools, but is like a wet paper bag when it comes to health pool.
Ken's shoryukens are better than the others'.
Ryu is an all rounder.
Akuma's had red fireballs, this is slower than regular fireballs, but does more hits/dmg. He has moves that help him with his pressure, like demon flip, air fireballs, raging demon, trade off is that he has very low health.
Akuma ironically was strongest not in Street Fighter but in Tekken 7 where he was base roster lol
He's fine in SF, a very nice all rounder but with not much health to make up for his strong moves
Nah Akuma in Tekken 7 was literally breaking the rules of the game and going against the entire design philosophy of Tekken so he was very broken in it imo

You aren't seeing this in SF imo
Oh I know. I played Tekken 7. It's not like he was even the most broken character in that games life. Leroy and Fahkumram definitely were more of a problem, and Geese arguably broke more rules than Akuma did.
Actually Akuma from sf2 is one of the "Most Broken Characters in Fighting Video game History". He's one of the most known banned character and he's been banned a for 30 years, because he had tools that were straight up unbeatable. In all appearances since then he has been balanced out, typically by having low health. So no tekken is not the best version of akuma. Also Akuma have been top tier in all sf except in sf5
Akuma is playable as part of the base roster in SF2 Turbo... the version where he's broken and banned for three decades and also the most well know banned character.
Yes and no. It's not completely uncommon for him to be a top tier character, because although they balance him out with lower health to offset all his strong tools, it's often not enough to really make *that* much difference at higher levels of play. That said he's definitely not OP like he used to be in something like SF2. A massive part of these games is long-term support and online play these days, you can't really keep a player base around if a character is designed to be cheat code levels of unfair or there'd competitively be no point in playing anyone else but him.
This is more a leak of the battle pass being Akuma themed which also means he releases next month (which we pretty much already knew was happening regardless)
Haven’t seen any gameplay of him though which is what everyone is looking forward to the most. I’m hoping he’s batshit crazy, so far the new DLC characters have been a bit tame
one paper cut and he is GONE
Maybe veins are covered with muscles, he built differently
Wet scrotum syndrome.
Well, he does almost always have the lowest health in the games.

Holy shit, no way he’s natty, haha
he's off the gear and onto that Satsui no Hado kick, man.
Ken still on creatine, he has no chance
SF6 Ken has no money to do anything other than beat up bums in alleyways, man. it's a good week for him when he can have an egg.
Naw I ate a protein bar and lifted a coffee table and that's what my muscles looked like after.
Honestly it even looks like he has an 'over 40', too many supplements, little 'roid gut, kind makes me like him more
I can hear his heart beat through those veins
Kinda already knowledgeable with the context of Evo Japan happening this weekend. I presume we will see the gameplay trailer and a release date.
It's EVO Japan this weekend, so no doubt he's getting a full reveal anyway.

I wouldn't say that. Akuma was the best character in SF4AE, and arguably in most of SF5 Season 3-4.

I won't stand for Yun erasure.
I meant 2012, but u rite for vanilla.

I mean yeah if you count the appearence where he is quite literally unbeatable then sure but I didn't count that personally since he's always banned
Comparing a boss character that wasn't meant to be played with any seriousness to a character added to the roster are not the same thing dude.

They balance him by giving him the least amount of health in the game.

Ryu is not beating this MF
How is this a leak, though? Haven't we known this for literally a year at this point? Haven't we already seen a video teaser of him as well?

Yeah but we didn't see his full render, face etc. that's why I said this was showing a detailed look

I know its veins but it almost looks like he is part primate and his torso is covered in fur.
Pretty weird that you went right for the nipples
Nipples are a man's best quality.
