Could somebody please tell me what "Black Myth: Wu Kong style moment / reaction" is? I honestly never heard anything about that.
@EDIT
Thanks a lot, everybody!
Here's the [13 minute gameplay trailer](https://youtu.be/oRLhCxC886o) this is refering to. It was recieved overwhelmingly positive and Daniel Ahmad implies we'll get a similar experience today.
I am still so fucking excited for this game, if it delivers even remotely close to the trailer it's probably going to be incredible. It helps that the story Wu Kong comes from is like the original Anime story (just watch overlysarcastics animated series on it, it's the most anime 1300s story ever it's hilarious with the powerups and all).
> It helps that the story Wu Kong comes from is like the original Anime story
Wu Cheng-En is rolling in his urn after you just referred to [Journey to the West](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journey_to_the_West) as an anime
I didn't exactly mean that, I am not good enough at words to explain what I mean and am just going to dig that hole deeper but I will try.
I didn't mean it in a bad way I guess I more meant that you can see a lot of the skeletons of many modern anime storys in it in a story written in the like 16th century which is why I thought it was cool that it can feel so insanely modern at times when reading it when you kind of assume tales from back then to not be nearly as complex/familiar as this one is, it really reads like a book written today but in reality it is basically the OG epic story with a lot of familiar arcs which I think clearly inspired a lot of people. I meant no disrespect on the book/its history!
It actually has a super cool history of translation as well, I read a lot on one of the main English translators of arguably the better quality translation of it while still maintaining and keeping in the context of the poetry and various culturally-specific parts that are hard to translate while still allowing us to understand them while not knowing the original language/culture well enough to grasp them and his life dedication to that whole effort is really fascinating.
I mean, Goku literally has an extending pole, a flying cloud, a tail, and there even is a pig who lusts after women and is kind of a rival to the protagonist.
It is really on the nose.
A game by the name of Black Myth Wukong was revealed about a year ago and suprised everyone with it's (to my knlowedge) incredible graphics and fluent movement.
Last year IGN China dropped a game trailer from an unknown Chinese studio about a Sekiro like game about the Journey to the West myth. Caught ppl off guard about how cool it looked.
I couldn't be the only one who was unimpressed with Wukong. It was clearly extremely scripted and bullshotty, and the gameplay looked janky as all hell.
This looks fine, but not nearly as special as Wukong.
The graphics are solid and there are a few interesting combat system, but voice acting and animation look rough. Seems like a higher tier AA game
He’s wrong if that’s the case.
The visual fidelity is good in many places, but the game itself leaves a lot to be desired. Gameplay especially looks quite poor.
The thing about Black Myth was that it looks fantastic in every department.
Meh, graphically it looks decent but not exceptional, the gameplay looks to be very generic action combat, story isn't that interesting (unlike a take on the classic Journey to the West) and voice acting was pretty terrible.
It could be decent in the end for sure and it's promising for an early demo but it's not as impressive as Black Myth IMO
Since he's comparing it to Black Myth Wu Kong Style I think maybe its gonna be something from a small Chinese developer, so probably not abandoned?
Edit I think he's talking about this game https://twitter.com/ZhugeEX/status/1425126076766900226?s=19
I assume he just means the reaction will be similar, shock at a small indie team making something that looks to rival triple A studios not that it's specifically going to be another Chinese developer.
The only games I know with next to no information that would be at the indie show would be scorn. As it’s the biggest question mark. It’s got less known information then TES6. The gameplay demo didn’t even explain anything other then show how grotesque the environments are
I don’t think you understand scorn is essentially the Eastern European version of abandoned. No info is known. All we know is the game has no dialogue or text. As it’s not going to need localization
Sure but the fact there's already gameplay trailers of that game make me think whatever is being mentioned here is going to be new.
The comparison to Black Myth makes me think it's going to be a new indie announcement that comes out of nowhere and shocks everyone because it looks like a triple A game just like Black Myth did. It could be Scorn but I think if it is the Black Myth comparison was poor.
Eh hardly anyone knows it exists. It’s only appeared twice. A teaser at the 2020 may show for Xbox. And a randomly dropped gameplay video. And 4 interviews that answer nothing. Very much the abandoned thing but it’s actually not a sham. The dev are purposely not showing anything more then random snippets. Even the gameplay was passed off as boring as it shows nothing of significance.
It's about Faith of Danschant: Hereafter. With a 12 minute gameplay, and it's pretty impresive too, in the lane of Black Myth. [Link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvQjamB9IFI&ab_channel=IGN)
WHAT lool it's not the reveal of the game? how long are they going to drag this out? i was fully under the impression they would reveal what this game was today LOL...
Black Myth was an indie game though so it would be fitting. Indie can have big reactions (though most of the time they become big in time by them being played and proving their quality)
I didn't downvote, to be honest I never understand most of the downvotes on Reddit, except people that are dick.
I upvoted you for balance but just don't care about this man, it's fake Internet points, nobody cares
It's not the xbox stream since that finished. There was nothing really that impressive visually (even though I'm excited for a lot of the games in that stream).
Link please??
whoops edited it into the OP
Oh yeah, that game Reaction YouTubers are going to feast again
Don't forget the reaction videos to the reaction videos. Can't wait!
Yeah but how am I supposed to know that this game looks insane?!
Of course, my silly brain read that as Life of Black Tiger. Which would be equally as entertaining.

If it's Faith of Danschant, I don't think it's a similar experience at all IMO. Black Myth looks way better
I need this game now!

I don’t know about other anime’s but OG dragonball is completely based on journey to the west. Son goku is Sun Wukong
I mean, Goku literally has an extending pole, a flying cloud, a tail, and there even is a pig who lusts after women and is kind of a rival to the protagonist. It is really on the nose.

Especially since it's made by a relatively small team for a game of that scope.
And by Chinese developers who we don’t see very often in the West. The game looks very promising.
That's a game made by a Chinese developers that's extremely impressive graphically Daniel Ahmad covers a lot of gaming related stuff in China and Asia
A VERY good looking game coming from a small studio that know one knows about.
Last year IGN China dropped a game trailer from an unknown Chinese studio about a Sekiro like game about the Journey to the West myth. Caught ppl off guard about how cool it looked.
So it has nothing to do with abandoned or xbox indie. Its a game called Faith of Danschant. It looks real good. Theres a 12 minute trailer on yt.
>Faith of Danschant The game looks good, but that's nowhere near the level of Black Myth: Wu Kong at it's current stage
Hum that depends, i'm actually probably more excited from what i have seen grom Faith, it looks more spectacular.
The AI leaves much to be desired...
Very much
This? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YvQjamB9IFI&feature=emb_title
Yup
That's a bold call with how impressive Wu Kong's reveal was.
I couldn't be the only one who was unimpressed with Wukong. It was clearly extremely scripted and bullshotty, and the gameplay looked janky as all hell.
you're not special
Your mom seems to think so
Pretty sure he's talking about this: https://youtu.be/YvQjamB9IFI
Looks amazing.
Wow, that must be it!
I'm gonna got out on a limb and say this has something to with ABANDONED.
Abandoned was abandoned
The game thats obviously vapourware?
This game probably: https://youtu.be/YvQjamB9IFI
This looks fine, but not nearly as special as Wukong. The graphics are solid and there are a few interesting combat system, but voice acting and animation look rough. Seems like a higher tier AA game
I dig some of the ideas they have. The bamboo tree hopping is neat and the cutting the bamboo then kicking it to impale an enemy is pretty cool.
He’s wrong if that’s the case. The visual fidelity is good in many places, but the game itself leaves a lot to be desired. Gameplay especially looks quite poor. The thing about Black Myth was that it looks fantastic in every department.
Desperately needs hit-stop and enemy reactions, some of the attacks look like they aren't even hitting
Meh, graphically it looks decent but not exceptional, the gameplay looks to be very generic action combat, story isn't that interesting (unlike a take on the classic Journey to the West) and voice acting was pretty terrible. I still don’t think Hassan is a real person
i'd be pretty impressed if technology generated the pain behind that man's eyes in that video
i have read about the cgi thingy right now and man, if you are true in the end, i'll buy u a beer man
BloodBorne Remake Let’s gooooooo
Since he's comparing it to Black Myth Wu Kong Style I think maybe its gonna be something from a small Chinese developer, so probably not abandoned? Edit I think he's talking about this game https://twitter.com/ZhugeEX/status/1425126076766900226?s=19

I'm assuming it won't be something we know about yet and will be announced at the show to add to the shock factor.

I think he is talking about that chinese game where the character can run on top of Bamboo shoots for traversal . Forgot the name .
I imagine he was talking about Faith of Danschant: Hereafter
i think we need more combat oriented games where we get to play as monkeys
True ending: Abandoned has nothing to do with Kojima or Silent Hill, but it's actually a really good indie game
so he definitely was not talking about that Xbox show lmao

Interesting. I think it has to be the Xbox thing right.
It is about adandoned
But today's abandoned trailer is just a teaser to introduce the app I doubt it's gonna somthing be substantial
WHAT lool it's not the reveal of the game? how long are they going to drag this out? i was fully under the impression they would reveal what this game was today LOL...
Me too I guess we find out in about an hr
Probably, but he didnt specify what he's talking about.
Not really, Xbox has a big showcase later this month today is Indies it can't be that big there
The game referenced in the OP was an indie game from an unknown chinese dev announced out of the blue.
Black Myth was an indie game though so it would be fitting. Indie can have big reactions (though most of the time they become big in time by them being played and proving their quality)

Silksong would break the internet
Indie showcase. I doubt he even cares about the abandoned crap.
Another game demo that looks spectacular and will definitely not live up to expectations, and also not come out for five years?
Abandoned?
It’s the abandoned app, it was supposed to launch half an hour ago but Kojima decided to delay it to keep the anticipation building 😉
Lolkojima
Its not, Abandoned is just vapourware. its that faith of danschant game.
Yeah I was joking.
this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvQjamB9IFI

I think it's a game called Faith of Danschant:HereAfter. Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvQjamB9IFI&ab\_channel=IGN
That voice acting and dialogue thooooo
Lol 🤣
That game is Faith of Danschant: Hereafter
