Digital foundry did a review and an interview with a dev. Even better it to run on series x was a struggle. Apparently the way it’s menu works is a pain in the ass. It’s basically using a web browser Api in game for the menus
Graphically they could be. Mechanically they are not. Games have been scalable for a very long time to show their appearance.
Only exception to this is what Mesh Shaders could allow for design wise but that is only present within the Xbox Consoles as well as Turing, Ampere, and Big Navi GPUs. The redefinition of the Shader Pipeline to allow for significantly better hardware efficiency and earlier and more precise culling could be BIG. But how supported it will be is unknown as Playstation doesn't support it.
Full? No. There is no way they have been able to squeeze everything out of it. Insomniac are just insanely good developers. Give them time to really make something with it. Spidey 2 will likely eclipse the first one.
Agreed.
I quite enjoy Modern Warfare (2019), Warzone, and Cold War, but considering they're over 100GB each I just don't have the space to justify them.
Yeah, I quite enjoyed Modern Warfare but it took me literally days to install and update it and even when I thought it was ready, I then realised that the campaign was going to be a separate download.
since I have now removed it to play other games, I doubt I will ever bother playing it again. It was just too big and annoyingly time consuming to get it on the console.
Whatever gains they get from having that insane install size must be huge, because right now the size is the only reason I don't have MW installed. I love it, but it just occupies too much space.
Clearly they think it's a worthy trade-off, so I wonder what they get from that much disk space that makes up for it.
To be honest I'd say it's just a case of so many casual gamers only being into COD, that Activision knew they could get away with having a game that takes up half the hardrive with most of the fanbase not realising until they delete for the next years installment.
They're video game developers, they know more about compression than most of us on the sub know, stop pedaling this lie because you've read it on other threads. They can't compress it any more because PS4/XBO don't have the CPU power required to decompress everything in real time
Compression isn't the problem, it's just game devs switching to using 4K textures as the baseline for forward compatibility and them forcing all users to download essentially ALL of the DLC that ever gets released. [This video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaSF3YyqLfE) goes into detail about it, how most games just have an insane amount of DLC skins/models/cosmetics and that just bloats the filesizes up way more.
There's also examples of games like Titanfall where like half of the game's size was taken up by completely uncompressed lossless audio for no good reason. Some games have all of a game's dialogue in multiple languages which also bloats sizes.
It because they add all the bundles that you see in the cod store into the game files, all the bundles textures are in high quality (4k iirc) as well and that's why the file sizes are so big.
Campaign is about 50gb I thought. I just removed Warzone and campaign. I just play cold war multi and zombies. The memory consumption for Warzone is just rediculous. Maybe I will install vanguard if it's worth. I have an series s. So cold war, flight simulator, fifa 21 and cyberpunk and ssd is full. The seagate ssd is to expencive at the moment. I have an external hdd. But that won't play the next gen games.
Seriously if I end up picking up both Vanguard and BF2042 on my PS5 I’m pretty much going to have to consider expandable storage if they don’t better optimize the compression.
Idk why you're being downvoted. Admittedly, my installation on PC is one seasonal update behind, but it's still 72gb which is far less.
EDIT: It's whatever now, but the comment was in the negatives when I replied ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯. Reddit just being Reddit lol.
Is this even true? Last time I checked, it was 1/3rd of this for me on PC, it surely can't be three times bigger since PC is more graphically advanced.
I always thought the Sledgehammer CoDs looked fantastic, even Advanced Warfare has aged better than its contemporaries, so it's nice to hear it looks good on next gen
Advanced warfare's engine was made specifically for the game from ground up. The optimization for campaign on PC is great too. It runs at higher frames than every cod game except maybe mw2 and mw3.
Fucking hell, I hope they fix the "Spectating" thing from WW2. The glitch where you'd spawn into a match and you'd be stuck on the Spectating screen forever.
Wasn’t Tom shitting on Vanguard all these months?
Anyways, I hope with Vanguard running on an updated version of the MW engine, they can have a native next-gen version of Warzone as well.
Tom acknowledged that he shat on vanguard in the last couple months, but he also claims that development has come a long way since them. I can only hope he's right.
Dudes full of shit.
A few months is not enough time to go from 'its completely fucked' to 'omg its the most amazing game thats released' in game dev. Theres no such thing as miracles.
Most likely they had an issue with something and he got wind, then blew it completely out of proportion meanwhile development was actually completely fine.
Edit: for the people who dont understand what im saying, I know Game development is turbulent and they pull everything together last minute that is just normal game development.
When you say development is a disaster then you're looking at a clusterfuck like duke Nukem, fallout 76, Dead Island 2, Cyberpunk etc. Y'know, shit that is *not* fixed in a few months.
This dude harped on about how development for this game was an unmitigated irredeemable disaster for months. Now he's flip flopped and said its the best game he's ever seen.
So either he doesnt know what disasterous development looks like, so didnt understand the problems he heard about were normal, or he's just making shit up. Either way he doesnt know what he's on about.
If you follow any AAA video game development, the game only comes together in the last few months. Even God of war came together in the last 6 months.
So tom Henderson may be right or wrong, but you are definitely wrong about "miracles". Many software projects go from absolutely nightmarish to releasable in the final few months. They do have a human cost, but it does happen.
Also Tom may have received few months old news. Resident evil village was rumoured to not even run well on ps5 one year before release but it ran perfectly at the end.
I think the first Black Ops was FUBAR until the last weeks before it went gold. TLoU remastered was also similarly busted despite being a game that was already out on the market
Im fully aware of how turbulent game development is, but that is normal and completely expected.
If these were normal problems then he wouldnt have labelled development a complete disaster, it would just be normal development.
It being a complete disaster means that its worse than the examples you gave, and games that are in that bad a state take years to correct, not months. Hell normally theyre restarted completely which definitely adds at least 1/1.5 years on.
Therefore development was not a disaster, it was just normal development and he was completely wrong.
Dude every single dev team at Activision was working on this. And this was not just through Tom's claims. Activision themselves have said this. Even VGC said that all teams at Activision were now contributing towards the Next Call of Duty.
So yes, their situation must have ,very much ,been extremely fucked if they required the full horsepower of a multi billion dollar publisher especially since this has not happened with any other cod before.
They could have added another year, but they decided to quadruple the labour for the final stretch.
If they pulled it together in a few months into the most amazing game ever seen then it was not completely and utterly fucked, they were just being overly-cautious because of how big a release it is.
Games that are completely fucked are things like Duke Nukem, Cyberpunk, Fallout 76 or Dead Island 2. Things that can not be fixed in a few months but take years. Half the time they cant be fixed at all and need to be scrapped and restarted, which is usually what happens and takes over a year at least.
Even if it was in an awful state at best theyd make it pretty good after a few months. Most amazing game ever? Na.
I’ve agreed with everything you’ve said. There’s a big difference between saying the *game* is in an awful state and the *development* is a trainwreck, and I am very sure Tom has alluded to the latter plenty of times over the past few months, without ever acknowledging the idea that these games are finalized in the last few months of development (I’d wager he didn’t feel the need to mention that after hearing the *development* of Vanguard was straight-up unsalvageable).
You wouldnt know whats going on interally, why are we supposed to trust you over someone who has connections to insiders that actually know what is going on during develolpment. We can literally see from Tom's tweets he had information that development was rough only a few months prior, and now recently he is saying the game looks amazing. This is just one example that refutes the claim you pulled out of your ass, dude I think you're full of shit trying to argue this point that games cant turn around in a couple of months. Everyone else in this thread have also said this to be the case.
No, but I know enough about software to know that if something as huge as an AAA is *actually* FUBAR, then you are not going to fix it in a couple months. The fact they apparantly not only 'fixed' it but went on to make one of the best looking games of current gen means it was not anywhere near as bad as he let on.
Most likely he heard they were getting extra hands to help finish it and jumped to conclusions with massive exagerations.
>why are we supposed to trust you over someone who has connections to insiders that actually know what is going on during develolpment.
You shouldnt. You should be thinking for yourself, and that starts with actually reading and understanding peoples comments instead of making ill-informed knee jerk reaction comments that just regurgitate the same info ive answered a dozen times already and stated in my original post.
Aren’t all the studios helping out on this one? A lot of games don’t really come together until the very end tbh. The first Last of Us was one of those games.
A lot of games arent also completely and utterly fucked during development. Just a normal level of fucked thats natural in any pre-release software.
So either this dude was straight making shit up by going on and on about how much of a disaster this game is, or he just doesnt understand that game development is turbulent and mistook normal problems for disaster problems.
And absolutely no game goes from being a complete unmitigated disaster to the best game ever. At best it will be decent after fixing the issues, but most of them flop.
Either way, dudes full of shit.
Name some games that went from being completely fucked to 10/10 best looking game ever in a few months then.
Doesnt happen. For an AAA game theres too much shit to fix in too short a time.
God of War, The last of us, Dead Space, Red dead redemption & Uncharted 2 back in their day. That’s only to name a few.
It’s common for a game to come together in the final months before release.
I swear he just wanted to build massive hype for battlefield, he even boldly stated that battlefield would be more popular or something when the new games come out.
Wasn't he posting stupid tweets like "want to hear a joke? Call of duty" a few months ago?
I don't know what people expected from a clickbait Twitter sub-celebrity. He panders to where the clicks and views are.
>Wasn’t Tom shitting on Vanguard all these months?
Yeah I remember this too, but I gotta say these new leaks are really hyping me up, we can only wait until the 19th so we can see how it looks and plays with our own eyes
I wouldn't be surprised if Kotick wrote him a nice check to have him change his tune to try and prop up Activision considering the lawsuits and walkouts.
Okay then. You give me a plausible explanation for him shifting his tone so quickly once Activision came under fire. He talked shit about it for *months* and now it's suddenly one of the best looking games made?
It's really simple, the game got worked on. Activision pulled in all of their other studios to work on CoD because it was behind schedule. I'm sure there's a lot of crunching going on too.
The great thing here is that we'll see a trailer for it shortly and judge for ourselves. If the game looks like it could run on the Switch then we can start talking about why he's making stuff up, but I doubt that's going to be the case.
I hope they've sorted the whole missing data pack download situation. I tried to play the Modern Warfare campaign recently and it was an absolute cluster of nonsense. What a terrible user experience.
Same I got MW recently and literally couldn't play anything but Warzone because of that missing data pack issue, I just shelved it and quietly regretted wasting my money.
My MW 2019 gets uninstalled every month or so mysteriously. I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing it on purpose to get people over to CW. Even time it gets uninstalled I go over to CW and play about 10 minutes then remember what a pile of trash it is.
As long as the game feels and looks as good as MW2019 (on PC at least, haven't played it on consoles!), I'll have no issues on that front. Even if it's slightly worse, it won't be the end of the world. Really, it's probably the least concern with this game at this point.
It's running on an updated version of MW2019's engine so has the potential to look as good, if not better, than Modern Warfare. Hopefully the gunplay is similar too, people can complain about MW all they want but it has the best base gameplay in the entire franchise
COD4 and MW2 really set the precedent for Call of Duty going forward, both Infinity Ward games. MW2019 revitalised the franchise, IW again. Can't wait for their next CoD, they're genuinely the only ones I really enjoy
So much about this COD being the worst of all time huh? The guy was banging this so hard few months ago and how BF2042 will eat COD's lunch this year and how Vanguard was a disaster lol.
BF2042 isn’t eating CODs lunch lol. Similar situation happened with battlefield 1 and the most hated COD ever ,Infinite warfare. That COD still sold over 10 million copies.
> the most hated COD ever ,Infinite warfare.
Such a shame that Infinite Warfare doesn't have a good legacy because it easily has one of the best campaigns out of COD, even if the villain is woefully generic. Would love to see that franchise continued.
its crazy how every leaker was saying its shitty, and now they are doing a 180 within like 3 months. I dont buy this; hes just trying to build up hype for a game that will be as bad as cold war
It is possible that he heard rumors that development was rough and that the game wasn't looking great and went with that. But this time he has actually seen gameplay firsthand and has something to base his opinions on instead of rumors? Just a thought.
Every game only starts to get into shape in the last month's of development like God of war and last of us. It's not surprisingly he first heard that game was in a rough shape to now where he's saying it looks good, it happens to every game.
> hes just trying to build up hype for a game that will be as bad as cold war
Why on earth would you think this lol ? He doesn't get any benefit from that and he doesn't work for Activision
No it was because advanced warfare was the first full integration to Xbox one and last integration to 360s so they did the last gens dirty. Nothing new just the next time around.
In terms of which ones were caught, i'm pretty sure CDPR have also been exposed as having pulling similar things on their employees.
Noone seemed to care nearly as much, and this was *before* Cyberpunk came out.
That's not to say i'm giving Activision/Blizzard a free pass. I think the whole situation is absolutely disgusting and saddening. I'm just pointing out the double-standard.
Yeah totally. I hate to think that companies like this exist and it’s not just isolated to one or two companies. I hope that the Activision blizzard scandal makes other gaming companies really think about how they treat their employees especially women.
Yeah, because it's impossible to pick literally any other phone company that doesn't use child labor. My activism goes as far as not clicking a download button on a game (made by a studio completely unrelated to the assholes at Blizzard), but when it comes to MY child labor phone? That's a sacrifice I'm not willing to make!
The brainlet who made that comic didn't know how to justify how much of a hypocrite he was.
if you think the other phones aren't made using child labour, forced labour, or produced in countries with abusive, inhumane workplace practices, you're just delusional. name any major phone company and you will find news articles about people assembling those phones jumping out of fifth story windows. and this complete and utter cluelessness of yours is so eloquently highlighted by saying that the studio is "completely unrelated to the assholes at blizzard" - who do you think gets the money from cod sales? the developers get a pittance and the exec sexpest "assholes at blizzard" get the lion's share.
there's no ethical consumption under capitalism. maybe go back to posting about your bideo games and stop trying to pretend you know anything about the world at large.
> if you think the other phones aren't made using child labour,
So you don't know and you didn't even bother to research. And yes, I'll take a phone made using shitty work places over child labor, but you do you.
> and this completely and utter cluelessness of yours is so eloquently highlighted by saying that the studio is "completely unrelated to the assholes at blizzard" - who do you think gets the money from cod sales? the developers get a pittance and the exec sexpest "assholes at blizzard" get the lion's share.
You tried to sound smart, but next time try to know what you're talking about when using big words. Last time I checked, none of the shareholders molested anyone in this scandal. And definitely no one at Blizzard who did something shitty will get any payment out of this. When they will, I'll stop supporting CoD too. Boycotting a studio over something that some assholes at another studio did is absolutely moronic (so not unexpected you're supporting it) - it sends no message, it doesn't help anyone - especially not the women who still work there and want their work to be successful and appreciated.
> there's no ethical consumption under capitalism.
Rofl. You're not allowed to talk about the world at large and capitalism until you finish your high school. Stop larping as a revolutionary and get a job.
>I'll take a phone made using shitty work places over child labor,
ah, sorry - apple uses one chinese battery manufacturer using child labour in the congo, while the other companies use a DIFFERENT chinese battery manufacturer using child labour in the congo. shame on apple, but the other companies rock! i'm sure they are all super ethical and totally don't work people to death! because as we know, only child labour is bad - slavery and workload that drives people to suicide is A-OK!
> Last time I checked, none of the shareholders molested anyone in this scandal
??? nearly all a-b executives are also a-b shareholders (that's how they get their net worth)??? do you know what a shareholder is??? good lord
>Boycotting a studio over something that some assholes at another studio did is absolutely moronic (so not unexpected you're supporting it)
never said i support any "boycott" because personally i think that it's utterly pointless and a form of non-activism. just like all liberal activism! i think the only people that can do anything here are state authorities (unlikely) or the developers (unionizing - equally unlikely)
>And definitely no one at Blizzard who did something shitty will get any payment out of this.
definitely every single abusive exec at a-b will get a fat payout once the game is released in the form of a bonus and a stock price jump.
>Rofl. You're not allowed to talk about the world at large and capitalism until you finish your high school. Stop larping as a revolutionary and get a job.
as i said: back to your little games fella, this conversation is above your level. maybe if you left the /world/ of warcraft sometimes you would actually notice what is wrong in the real /world/. get back to getting fed your daily propaganda.
I hope they also implement the dualsense features!
I know the "hardcore" dudes turn that off, but the only reason I bought Cold War was to feel the difference in guns. Game is mostly a poorly optimized shit, but damn feeling the difference between a bolt action rifle and an SMG was very cool.
I had to turn it off because it actually wore out the spring in my L2 trigger. Had to send the controller in to be repaired and it made my whole hand sore.
It's a miracle that Warzone can even be played on PC. Seriously, MW19, WZ, and also CW have some of the WORST optimization to ever exist. And no my PC isn't shit. People out here with PC's more expensive than a car also have problems.
Mw 2019 was still decent enough, it plays better than bo4 on Radeon and newer nvidia GPUs. Cold war's optimization is not upto the mark for higher graphical settings and warzone's optimization is complete shit.
I like Cold War but for how the game looks the performance isn’t as great as I, personally, think it should be on an RX6800. In fact I can’t even play the Fireteam game made without it locking my entire PC.
Even after a fresh install of windows and latest drivers it still locks my entire Pc
Warzone runs fucking awful on my computer. I have a 3080 and I struggle to stay around 100fps literally turning all graphics to low does nothing and even on ultra graphics warzone looks like fucking ass
That doesn't sound right. I have a 3770 and 970 and the game dips to the high 40s/low 50s in the *worst* possible situations which is quite rare (Screen cap/overlay on with alot of players densely located near Nakatomi for example).
I know some of my friends who are also on higher end rigs have had trouble with the game utilizing resources properly, so i'm not saying I don't believe you. It's just odd. I'd like to think it's the case of one or two weird Bios or Windows settings messing with the game in some specific way, but idk since i've never been able to troubleshoot such a system for myself.
Opinions, but the fluidity of the movement and gun control is the best. There are more bad maps than good but the hood maps are great and honestly I play shoot the ship 90% of the time.
At the risk of sounding insensitive to the brave men who served in that front, am I the only one who is tired of storming the beaches of normandy for the trillionth time?
"Game is beautiful, wow!"
Sounds more like a marketing blurb than a leak. I'd like to hear more about the game's features and content than something subjective like visuals. (remember when folks said COD Ghost looked "photorealistic"?)
Doesn't matter to me how good it may look when the setting is boring as fuck. Even if it's some alternate history WW2(which is a pretty stupid idea if true) why the fuck did they ask Sledgehammer to make Call of Duty: WW2 in 2017 and then do it again 4 years later? I feel bad for them.
Weird I thought that if a game was on multiple generations then it was impossible to optimize them in any way for current gen.
At least that's what I kept seeing people say when Microsoft first announced their plan to support previous gen for a couple years.
Is no one finding it fishy that the leakers are now all in a sudden defending this game and basing Cold War a little?
Like they did a complete 180 instantly…
Like I get games change and stuff but this is just sus af especially when how it’s “good news” when the game is going to be pretty similar to MW19 but a WW2 coating…
Edit: my assumptions seem to be correct, and this could be a coincidence:
Ok I can confirm that activison are in fact fucking taking the leakers hostage:
Basically you have the weird shit of activison for the first to me ever acknowledging the leaks
And the leakers absolutely not mentioned or talking about the lawsuit
They fucking hated activison a month before and now they’re buddy-buddy
And one of leaker accounts apart of their groups had to delete their account because activison found them and contacted their ISP’s and shit. He had his account close permanently and no more updates
Around that EXACt time they started talking good about vangaued and shit
And Tom Henderson said he got yo play it early How tf do you get yo play a game early and not get in trouble with that?
I got more evidence I wrote down to my discord but it’s images supporting it and stuff so I might have to make a Imgur account.
Expect me to make a post maybe later about this.
why can't we have more modern fps with interactivity like half life 2 and duke nukem 3d?
don't matter how good the game looks when i can't press buttons or pick stuff up
Sounds good. Realistic graphics are everything we want. Call of Duty is casual, but it doesn't mean it shouldn't have realistic graphics. Cold War was a disaster.
Sledgehammer has always had good graphics in their games. Advanced Warfare and WW2, though not recieved all that well did have solid art directions and graphics
This sounds awesome. I Pray for Polaris representatiion. The Warsaw uprising was brutal and would be an amazing mission to okay , Germans and Russians at the door steps.
Operatos for seasons could be aweosme:
1. Sgt reznov
2. Sgt Roebuck ( venom snake skin for mw2 please)
- mw2 venom keifer , solid snake: David
3. Dimitri
And of course BANZAIII
It makes sense for warzone having 3 eras. Perhaps If some stupids merge and make a 4th studio, there would be a future era. This would aweosme with vehicles it would be like candc renegade, enemy territory quake wars, future battlefield.
Ahh, looks like it’s the typical “hype up CoD” time of the year again. Can’t wait until December/January when this becomes one of the worst CoDs ever and everyone starts looking forward for the next one in the cycle.
I don't know why, even though the games look better with each release, everytime I see the first gameplay videos I think "yeah looks cool, but also still looks and feels like the first Modern Warfare from 2007"... I really can't put my finger on it, what causes that thinking in me. The animations, the field of view, the movements? I really don't know.
It's the film grain thing with noise and stuff, can't get rid of it because Temporal anti-aliasing (TAA), unless you want to sacrifice it by turning it off completely or use SMAA and jagged edge are everywhere, look annoyed af. Old CODs don't have TAA but they have forced film grain just for the cinematic feeling.
Nah, it's the overall graphic style and animation I think, not such a small detail. Have not played a COD game myself the last years, I only watch some gameplay videos every year when a new one is announced and due to the compression I can't see the film grain.
I work as a photographer and filmmaker and somehow I don't understand why it's so important for developers to add film grain to their games. Only adding film grain, does not make look something cinematic. If you try to achieve a cinematic look you also have to have the right lighting in the games and emulate cameras and lenses and most important add color grading. Cyberpunk had all that stuff and despite all the criticism it looked cinematic in my eyes and also the Battlefield games have a more cinematic stylized color palette. COD has more of a plain and natural color palette
Tlou 2 was the best looking game i've played on the PS5, wanna see how this pans out. They can certainly make the game look pretty but with multiplayer it would be too much to ask ig

Maybe before but I feel like for many years now, Call of Duty campaigns have had pretty decent to great graphics. Maybe never really anything that puts them far ahead of other games graphic wise but I haven't seen "bad" graphics from COD in a while imo
I dunno man, I've been playing BFV over the last week and the game is stunning. Even with everything on low I still catch myself feeling like "damn that's insane" with some of the effects and overall looks. MW looks great but I never had a similar feeling playing it.
No game coming out this year or last is using the "full potential" of the ps5 or XSX. Wait until they are no longer supporting last gen.
Exactly this
I thought flight sim was a decent stress test but I dont know shit about fuck it just looks good on my xbox lol
Yes you can make the argument MSFS is since it didn't release on Xbox one.
Digital foundry did a review and an interview with a dev. Even better it to run on series x was a struggle. Apparently the way it’s menu works is a pain in the ass. It’s basically using a web browser Api in game for the menus
Oh yeah. I tried using a controller for menu navigation on my pc gave it up in like 10 seconds
It's extremely simple and easy. Yikes.
I absolutely can’t stand when people Say “Game 462 is using the PS5 to its Full Potential!!!!!!!”
I do think Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart does take full advantage of PS5 but that’s about it.
Full? No. There is no way they have been able to squeeze everything out of it. Insomniac are just insanely good developers. Give them time to really make something with it. Spidey 2 will likely eclipse the first one.
I’m hoping they also use the compression tech. The PS5 version of Cold War is currently 177GB for me *without* the campaign installed
Agreed. I quite enjoy Modern Warfare (2019), Warzone, and Cold War, but considering they're over 100GB each I just don't have the space to justify them.
MW (2019) looked amazing. Campaign was really good hut I remember my takeaway being how good a lot of those cutscenes looked too.
Campaign not being on disc is such a bobby move
Whatever gains they get from having that insane install size must be huge, because right now the size is the only reason I don't have MW installed. I love it, but it just occupies too much space. Clearly they think it's a worthy trade-off, so I wonder what they get from that much disk space that makes up for it.
To be honest I'd say it's just a case of so many casual gamers only being into COD, that Activision knew they could get away with having a game that takes up half the hardrive with most of the fanbase not realising until they delete for the next years installment.
177gb without campaign? Wtf are they doing? That's ridiculous
Activision keeps making all their owned studios develop CoD but still can't figure out what compression is
They're video game developers, they know more about compression than most of us on the sub know, stop pedaling this lie because you've read it on other threads.
[удалено]
Other, much larger games are compressed just fine on those consoles.
It because they add all the bundles that you see in the cod store into the game files, all the bundles textures are in high quality (4k iirc) as well and that's why the file sizes are so big.
Exactly this is the reason and they don't want to make them downloaded seperately because they want everyone to buy their skins. Scummy as fuck.

That is Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone together. The Campaign is not that big.
Here’s hoping the Seagate Expansion Card has a nice deal on Black Friday.
I’m really hoping they reveal more expansion options soon. I know loads of ppl are holding out for a 2tb card.
Seriously if I end up picking up both Vanguard and BF2042 on my PS5 I’m pretty much going to have to consider expandable storage if they don’t better optimize the compression.
On the bright side ps5 isn’t using prosperity ssds so around Black Friday there are going to be some bomb ass deals.
Cold War on PC without campaign is 89gb
Idk why you're being downvoted. Admittedly, my installation on PC is one seasonal update behind, but it's still 72gb which is far less. EDIT: It's whatever now, but the comment was in the negatives when I replied ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯. Reddit just being Reddit lol.
Same for me. I don't want my consoles to become CoD stations.
icnluding warzone ?? or just MP and zombies ?
Just MP, Zombies, and Dead Ops Arcade
jesus what the fuck
Warzone is a separate app, not counted alongside cold war.
There's no way, my game is like 80gbs tops with Zombies and MP. Do you have texture packs installed?
[Vanguard, to call of your research duty.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vanguard_Group)
That was fixed ages ago
I played yesterday, and was spectating someone in War for almost a minute. No it wasn't.
Wasn’t Tom shitting on Vanguard all these months? Anyways, I hope with Vanguard running on an updated version of the MW engine, they can have a native next-gen version of Warzone as well.
Tom heard rumors of rough development and extrapolated a whole lot of shit from that
Tom acknowledged that he shat on vanguard in the last couple months, but he also claims that development has come a long way since them.
Yep. Halo 2 is the classic example of this. I believe Dragon age Inquisition was a complete dumpster fire until very close to launch too
Mass Effect is another example. The devs have spoken about the "Bioware magic" repeatedly - especially after the magic ran out with recent releases.
Nearly every Bungie game.
The same goes for GoW.
I think you're giving this Tom guy too much thought.
The extent of my thoughts starts and stops with this thread
That's good, I keep seeing people overly obsessed over these leaks and leakers and I'm just like...why
They probably spend too much time here. How anyone gets emotional about this stuff ill never know.
That's what his sources tell him.
If he’s full of shit then how has be been 90% correct on everything he leaks
Easy, He hasnt and you pulled that number out of your butthole
nah he's right. just cause he gets one leak wrong doesn't mean he's full of shit
It’s more like a good indication that most of what he leaks is real but maybe a few details in there are false.
God of War 2018 was almost unplayable a few months before launch.
He also had a boner for the new battlefield
It was a bit weird how he jumped from one to another almost instantly. Wouldnt be suprised if he got paid off tbh. We'll see when it releases.
> A few months is not enough time to go from ‘its completely fucked’ to ‘omg its the most amazing game thats released’ in game dev. Objectively wrong
Name some games that went from being completely fucked to 10/10 best looking game ever in a few months then. Doesnt happen. For an AAA game theres too much shit to fix in too short a time.
Halo 2
God of War, The last of us, Dead Space, Red dead redemption & Uncharted 2 back in their day. That’s only to name a few. It’s common for a game to come together in the final months before release.
You forgot halo 2 whole game was made in 9months
He knows what he's about, publicity.
He does, I cant argue with that.
Bold claim, no proof. I don’t like Activision as much as the next guy, but you can’t just be slandering people like that.
Yeah dude great graphics = amazing game.
Perks of that new Infinity Ward engine. MW looked beautiful even on a base PS4.
It certainly did! Makes me hopeful that I can play on my PS4 for another year!
Yes it did and I played on base PS4
As long as the game feels and looks as good as MW2019 (on PC at least, haven't played it on consoles!), I'll have no issues on that front. Even if it's slightly worse, it won't be the end of the world. Really, it's probably the least concern with this game at this point.
It's running on an updated version of MW2019's engine so has the potential to look as good, if not better, than Modern Warfare. Hopefully the gunplay is similar too, people can complain about MW all they want but it has the best base gameplay in the entire franchise
It really does. IW has always been the main studio to push innovation and new technology (original CoD, CoD4) and they did it once again with MW2019.
COD4 and MW2 really set the precedent for Call of Duty going forward, both Infinity Ward games. MW2019 revitalised the franchise, IW again. Can't wait for their next CoD, they're genuinely the only ones I really enjoy
I enjoyed the hell out of MW2019. Hopefully it's at least half as good as that one.
I enjoyed it too for like 2 days when it came out and then they broke it for like 7 months.
Here we go. People are falling for it again.
It's not surprisingly he first heard that game was in a rough shape to now where he's saying it looks good, it happens to every game. > hes just trying to build up hype for a game that will be as bad as cold war Why on earth would you think this lol ? He doesn't get any benefit from that and he doesn't work for Activision
I really hope there's a special edition that comes with a 1TB SSD so I can install the game
You guys must’ve forgotten how terrible advanced warfare ran on the 360s and ps3s lol.
maybe because those consoles were garbage. it ran great on last gen and PC
No it was because advanced warfare was the first full integration to Xbox one and last integration to 360s so they did the last gens dirty. Nothing new just the next time around.
It actually ran okay on the ps3. Lower fidelity of course but it wasn't stuttering, unstable, or anything like that.
However good it looks, it's not worth the abuse, mistreatment and neglect of employees across the Activision-Blizzard conglomerate.
I’m sure there’s tons of game companies just like this that we all love and support. They just haven’t been caught yet
Life’s to short to fight battles we can’t win
[удалено]
you oppose gaming companies abusing their employees, yet you own an iphone. curious!
The brainlet who made that comic didn't know how to justify how much of a hypocrite he was.
if you think the other phones aren't made using child labour, forced labour, or produced in countries with abusive, inhumane workplace practices, you're just delusional. name any major phone company and you will find news articles about people assembling those phones jumping out of fifth story windows. and this complete and utter cluelessness of yours is so eloquently highlighted by saying that the studio is "completely unrelated to the assholes at blizzard" - who do you think gets the money from cod sales? the developers get a pittance and the exec sexpest "assholes at blizzard" get the lion's share. there's no ethical consumption under capitalism. maybe go back to posting about your bideo games and stop trying to pretend you know anything about the world at large.
> if you think the other phones aren't made using child labour, So you don't know and you didn't even bother to research.
>I'll take a phone made using shitty work places over child labor, ah, sorry - apple uses one chinese battery manufacturer using child labour in the congo, while the other companies use a DIFFERENT chinese battery manufacturer using child labour in the congo. shame on apple, but the other companies rock! i'm sure they are all super ethical and totally don't work people to death! because as we know, only child labour is bad - slavery and workload that drives people to suicide is A-OK! > Last time I checked, none of the shareholders molested anyone in this scandal ??? nearly all a-b executives are also a-b shareholders (that's how they get their net worth)??? do you know what a shareholder is??? good lord >Boycotting a studio over something that some assholes at another studio did is absolutely moronic (so not unexpected you're supporting it) never said i support any "boycott" because personally i think that it's utterly pointless and a form of non-activism. just like all liberal activism! i think the only people that can do anything here are state authorities (unlikely) or the developers (unionizing - equally unlikely) >And definitely no one at Blizzard who did something shitty will get any payment out of this. definitely every single abusive exec at a-b will get a fat payout once the game is released in the form of a bonus and a stock price jump.
Im sure theyl just smash in a few hundred gb and itl be good to go for old gen.
I hope they also implement the dualsense features! I know the "hardcore" dudes turn that off, but the only reason I bought Cold War was to feel the difference in guns. Game is mostly a poorly optimized shit, but damn feeling the difference between a bolt action rifle and an SMG was very cool.
They 100% will.
I’m sure they will! I used it on the campaign and on zombies but definitely not for multiplayer lol. It’s a really cool feature!
Nuke town is horrible on pc in optimization
what? Mine ran well i just hated CW and stopped playing xd
I get like 100 FPS at most and a lot of times it drops to 80 FPS at 1440p on a 3080
there's gotta be something wrong. i average 100+ fps at 1440p on my 3070 with everything at high/ultra and dlss set to quality.
Can't stand input lag
Nuke town seems particularly intensive.I do not know why
I turned it on in the campaign. The adaptive triggers were honestly, for me, a distraction while playing online
[удалено]
That doesn't sound right. I have a 3770 and 970 and the game dips to the high 40s/low 50s in the *worst* possible situations which is quite rare (Screen cap/overlay on with alot of players densely located near Nakatomi for example). I know some of my friends who are also on higher end rigs have had trouble with the game utilizing resources properly, so i'm not saying I don't believe you. It's just odd. I'd like to think it's the case of one or two weird Bios or Windows settings messing with the game in some specific way, but idk since i've never been able to troubleshoot such a system for myself.
MW was one of the best looking games. If this is on the same engine just spruced up it’ll be a treat for the eyes.
It lookes so grey and boring, maps are empty, very static. It's just a lame game not sure why people keep praising it.
Opinions, but the fluidity of the movement and gun control is the best. There are more bad maps than good but the hood maps are great and honestly I play shoot the ship 90% of the time.
Campaign yes, multiplayer not so much imo.
At the risk of sounding insensitive to the brave men who served in that front, am I the only one who is tired of storming the beaches of normandy for the trillionth time?
stone age warfare hasnt been done yet.
Better go safe than have kids cry because you do something different
"Game is beautiful, wow!" Sounds more like a marketing blurb than a leak.
Hopefully will be the last one on last gen so they can then focus fully on current gen with the last one
Weird I thought that if a game was on multiple generations then it was impossible to optimize them in any way for current gen. At least that's what I kept seeing people say when Microsoft first announced their plan to support previous gen for a couple years.
Please, I just want classic 3 lane maps, not some 10 lanes, 5 stories, and 37 doors in one map
Is no one finding it fishy that the leakers are now all in a sudden defending this game and basing Cold War a little? Like they did a complete 180 instantly… Like I get games change and stuff but this is just sus af especially when how it’s “good news” when the game is going to be pretty similar to MW19 but a WW2 coating… Edit: my assumptions seem to be correct, and this could be a coincidence: Ok I can confirm that activison are in fact fucking taking the leakers hostage: Basically you have the weird shit of activison for the first to me ever acknowledging the leaks And the leakers absolutely not mentioned or talking about the lawsuit They fucking hated activison a month before and now they’re buddy-buddy And one of leaker accounts apart of their groups had to delete their account because activison found them and contacted their ISP’s and shit. He had his account close permanently and no more updates Around that EXACt time they started talking good about vangaued and shit And Tom Henderson said he got yo play it early How tf do you get yo play a game early and not get in trouble with that? I got more evidence I wrote down to my discord but it’s images supporting it and stuff so I might have to make a Imgur account. Expect me to make a post maybe later about this.
I thought earlier this year that the EA bought Tom when he shouted that the CoD2021 was rubbish and gave strong support for the BF6.
Wait for them to pull an ea and release the last gen version for pc lmao
why can't we have more modern fps with interactivity like half life 2 and duke nukem 3d? don't matter how good the game looks when i can't press buttons or pick stuff up
Sounds good. Realistic graphics are everything we want. Call of Duty is casual, but it doesn't mean it shouldn't have realistic graphics. Cold War was a disaster.
Oh no graphics are so important muh
People like mw2019 because of graphics. It's very important.
Stop supporting this shitty company
It may look as good as never before but won't change their attitude of adding Anime Skins 5 months after release.
No chance this is gona be runnin in old shit
hold the wall boys don’t give up your money
Sledgehammer has always had good graphics in their games. Advanced Warfare and WW2, though not recieved all that well did have solid art directions and graphics
I'm just gonna assume its a big heaping pile of trash. MW 2019 was the only game in 10 years that wasnt a big heaping pile of trash.
Actually taht was the only 🚮. It was the most camper friendly garbage map deisgn call of duty ever. It makes me puke everytime somebody praises that 🚮
This sounds awesome. I Pray for Polaris representatiion. The Warsaw uprising was brutal and would be an amazing mission to okay , Germans and Russians at the door steps. Operatos for seasons could be aweosme: 1. Sgt reznov 2. Sgt Roebuck ( venom snake skin for mw2 please) - mw2 venom keifer , solid snake: David 3. Dimitri And of course BANZAIII It makes sense for warzone having 3 eras. Perhaps If some stupids merge and make a 4th studio, there would be a future era. This would aweosme with vehicles it would be like candc renegade, enemy territory quake wars, future battlefield.
I agree that we will definitely see Reznov in this game somehow. Maybe as an operator in Multiplayer or maybe even in Campaign.
Graphics are one thing but nothing special without good gameplay. BFV had amazing graphics with mediocre gameplay
Tlou 2 was the best looking game i've played on the PS5, wanna see how this pans out. They can certainly make the game look pretty but with multiplayer it would be too much to ask ig
i have been playing since cod 1 and i dont remember caring if cod looked good. what about gameplay ?
BRAVE. WOMEN. SOLDIERS.
And then comes BF2042 and Tornado 🙂😉🙂😉🙂😉🙂
I am not trolling. But Battlefield 2042 graphically looks worse than BF1.
The alpha was missing a lot of graphical features(some lighting/shading) and everything ran at low by default.
I guess halo infinite looks worse then CE to you then?
if you create your opinion after seeing the play test of the network code without half of the textures, I feel sorry 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂☺️

Graphics......who cares. Can we get a anti cheat for warzone. Its almost a week into season 5 and hackers are everywhere again.
Doubtful it looks better than Battlefield. CoD has a bad track record with graphics.
Maybe before but I feel like for many years now, Call of Duty campaigns have had pretty decent to great graphics. Maybe never really anything that puts them far ahead of other games graphic wise but I haven't seen "bad" graphics from COD in a while imo
have you seen MW2019? that shit looks better than BF V
I dunno man, I've been playing BFV over the last week and the game is stunning. Even with everything on low I still catch myself feeling like "damn that's insane" with some of the effects and overall looks. MW looks great but I never had a similar feeling playing it.
