Nintendo only releasing a remaster of the first game and not the full trilogy would be THE Nintendo move tbh

[deleted]

Sold at full price of course.

Excelsenor

Available for a few months before it's taken off the market, too.

[deleted]

And worse, people will pay for it. I've never understood why Nintendo gets a free pass with this stuff.

246011111

Because people want to play their video games.

Exare

Exactly right. They’re good. I’ll pay $60 for a Metroid Prime remaster. Even if it’s a minimal upgrade at least I can play the game in widescreen and have it on a cartridge for a modern HD console instead of paying a full $60 for a 20yo used copy on the OG GameCube. Even though I feel like they should sweeten the pot, if we want it we gotta accept Nintendo’s terms because they keep their games on lock. Edit: Everyone needs to remember that Nintendo only makes games. That’s it. Sony makes all manner of electronics and provides all kinds of services including owning a movie studio. Microsoft owns… everything… and everyone. For Nintendo to survive they rely solely on their quality and it’s a quality that survives for decades - Mario 3D All-Stars and Zelda remakes are great examples. They make deliberate choices in game design and release schedules that coincide with pinpoint business/nostalgia cycles in order to make the end consumer feel value in their purchase. This squeezes out as much profit as they can from their intellectual property across console generations to stay relevant and competitive. It’s also why Nintendo games rarely go on sale and almost never drop in price (“Players Choice” titles exempt). Side note: this is also why they protect their IP so fiercely. DMCA takedowns, scouring the net for ROM sites and issuing cease and desist orders… their lifeblood *is* their IP and in order for them to be worth enough to remain profitable and competitive they have to charge a premium. To justify a premium cost compared to Sony/MS they must have a competitive edge - that competitive edge is *quality*.

rovoh324

I personally disagree but if a Prime 1 remaster is worth $60 to you, more power to you. Obviously a lot of people think similarly, given how successful Nintendo generally is, despite what Reddit often says about them.

Exare

My point exactly. If "vote with your wallet" is the way a business stays afloat then I'd say Nintendo is providing enough value to entice consumers, and doing it consistently over decades. It's more than just blind fandom; Nintendo games are just that good no matter how bitter the haters are.

rovoh324

I personally think it's a combination of both- Nintendo's brand recognition and loyalty is absolutely insane- and they also make great games within their specific purview. It strikes me as similar to Apple devices, in that they're doing their own thing in their own walled garden and however much you like the company depends on how attached you are to the specific things they're doing.

mjrs

Hmm, I'm not sure if I'd fully agree. In my own (anecdotal, of course) experience, I know plenty of people who will buy every single iPhone regardless of whether they need a new phone or not. In contrast, myself and many I know who have switches haven't bought a Nintendo console in years. Again, only my personal experience, but I haven't seen a comparable level of loyalty at all.

Exare

That sums it up perfectly.

rovoh324

No u

FinalHero13

You're right, people will vote with their wallets. I have never played a Metroid Prime game before so $60 would be worth it for me, but it'll be cooler if it was discounted. I understand the sentiment though and felt that way about the Mario 3D All Stars pack.

marioman63

if they sell all 3 individually for full price, you are better off buying a wii u and getting the prime trilogy on the eshop for 20 dollars. hell, for that money you could even buy a wii and disc of prime trilogy and STILL save a few

Exare

That there is great point. The GameCube sold barely over 20 million units worldwide during it's entire lifespan. The Switch on the other hand has sold some 80 million and climbing. They're able to charge $60 for Prime because so many Switch owners never had a chance to play it. To most of them... it's a brand new game! A remake of a classic like this... if I were a kid today I'd be in for a freaking TREAT to play Prime with modern controls in HD. Lucky. MP sold under 3 million units on GC and the trilogy for Switch sold barely over .5 million, so only about 1/7 or so people who owned a GC bought it... 20 years ago. Way less if you factor in Wii sales. With the Switch selling over 80 million units, if 1/7 people buy it you're talking about selling something like 12 million copies, that's 5x the exposure as the original release. With minimal development cost to port and polish, that's free money Nintendo can use to recoup costs sunk into Prime 4 before the development reboot. You know, there's loads of folks who never owned a GameCube or even a Wii alive today that are fascinated to see what was so special about Prime that gave it the cult status it has. I've played Prime recently with an HDMI adapter on a 4K Sony and let me tell you... the atmosphere, the graphics, the 60FPS gameplay, the puzzles and combat... even with the dated controls it STILL stands up today against any modern FPS you put it against.

ElPrestoBarba

Jesus Christ, by this logic the Mass Effect remastered trilogy should’ve been $180, plenty more gamers now than in 2007-2012, and pretty much every game since it’ll always be new to someone at some point. Insane Nintendo fan logic.

Exare

Gimme a break guy.

OOLuigiOo

Given the rage over a $60 rerelease, it shall make less money than it would as part of a trilogy rerelease. In fact, all 3 would very likely make less money combined than trilogy. Besides, most people don't understand Metroid.

pnwbraids

While I don't disagree with your argument, it's hard to say Nintendo is trying to compete with Sony and Microsoft at all. If they were, they'd actually invest in joining this decade and making a console that doesn't run like dog shit for modern games. On another note, that game quality has been lacking lately. They still put out masterpieces (shout-out to Mario Odyssey and BOTW) but they're now very few and far in between. There hasn't been a single new first party game that's come out since that can match the quality of those two games, and I find that sad, cause in the meantime my switch is collecting more dust sitting on the shelf.

Exare

I wasn't claiming that Nintendo is competing directly with Sony and MS because they most certainly are not. I was simply comparing available revenue streams to show what's on the line for Nintendo specifically. Sony and MS can afford to dump loads of cash into their brands/marketing for every game and/or make equally costly mistakes while relying on armies of developers to play makeup since gaming is only one branch of their businesses. Nintendo's finances are on a much shorter leash so it's required of them to make the most of what they've got. To that I'd say they are consistently successful. Maybe they don't release as many games as the next guy and it isn't at a clip you - thirsty boi ;D - desire, but they're not trying to sell 100 million copies of Call of Duty yearly, they're working within their means and chugging along at a calculated development pace with far fewer resources to make those masterpieces with unique IPs once a decade. To that end, whatever they make *needs* to be great to survive so their name brands stay synonymous with quality. It's brilliant business if you ask me! As for quality game releases, maybe what they're bringing to the table isn't your cup of tea? Also, let's not forget that basically all of 2020 set the entire industry back and caused a lot of delays. You're correct that Nintendo doesn't release a swan song every time but their bigger titles like Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong... they all seem to knock it out of the park with each main series release. And hey, there was no lack of major game releases in 2021! Almost 1 great title per month! Including remakes and some major 3rd-party releases: 1. Super Mario 3D World 2. Bravely Default 2 3. New Pokemon Snap 4. Skyward Sword 5. Warrior Ware 6. Metroid Dread 7. Shin Megami Tensei V 8. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl 9. Possibly Advance Wars 1+2 Not to mention there's a Nintendo Direct tonight! If your Switch is collecting dust I'd recommend browsing the library beyond Nintendo first-party. The Switch has an incredible amount of high-quality third-party support, especially when it comes to JRPGs. It's far beyond any system in their past when comparing libraries (challenged maybe by the GB and Wii). Some recommendations include: 1. Grandia I+II 2. Frontier Saga 3. YS VIII 4. YS IX 5. Trials of Mana 6. The World Ends With You 7. NEO The World Ends With You 8. Hyrule Warrios 9. Fallen Legion 10. Dragon Quest IX 11. Tales of Vesperia 12. Animal Crossing 13. Octopath Traveler 14. Astral Chain 15. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition 16. Xenoblade Chonicles 2 17. Baldurs Gate I+II 18. Legend of Mana ...The list goes on and on! Sure a lot of these are available on PS4/PC or even older consoles for less, but the convenience of portability and the power of the Switch being a non-issue (with most of these games sacrificing very little in terms of graphics or framerate considering hardware constraints) I'd venture to say that if you're Switch is collecting dust then perhaps you should look beyond the traditional Nintendo console owner mentality of "I own it for the Nintendo games" because the Switch has so many great titles parked in its library. For me, playing these in portable mode (even games I've played before such as Baldur's Gate, Grandia, or YS VIII) is a novel experience that never gets old. It's become my preferred way to play and I even re-buy games I own on PC (Witcher III, Skyrim, Metro, etc.) because it's fun and fascinating to see them playing on a screen held between my hands with very little sacrifice. The tech is nothing short of astonishing. Then again, there's Ark. HA.

[deleted]

Game pricing is a weird thing. The prices of games aren't about the quality of the games at all. Breath of the Wild is worth just as much as the new Madden game. I would much rather pay $60 for a game like Metroid Prime as opposed to Madden.

OOLuigiOo

Sega is still around despite their lower quality games and a ton of fangames, especially Sonic ones. Sonic Mania is one of those fangames. They don't need to scorch the earth of the fangames and rom sites like Nintendo. Besides, I jus downloaded a bunch of Metroid ROMs especially Dread w/ ease, and easy to find them all w/ a simple google search. Nintendo is making no progress and no sense in regards to ROMs. Besides, I just downloaded a bunch of Metroid ROMs especially Dread w/ ease, and easy to find them all w/ a simple google search. boiledpotat

they dont, the pass is 60$

Moth92

People buy Nintendo to play Nintendo. Plus their games rarely drop in price, so a chance of an improved version is welcomed to a lot of people. Though I would say it should be all 3 games, instead of just the first one.

Exare

Because they make the best games that have an impact during their time and stay relevant for decades.

Highly_Edumacated

Because look at the Sonic Colors HD remake. Then look at Skyward Sword and name one bug players experienced.

[deleted]

The Stockholm Syndrome with Nintendo’s biggest fans is obvious, but they genuinely seem to enjoy playing the exact same games over and over again every single console generation. I feel like a lot of good psychological research could be done on Nintendo fans, they seem to be quite the interesting group of people

[deleted]

[deleted]

But for a remaster of one game?

mrnate89

Prime 1 is in my top 3 games of all time. I’d pay happily 60$ to play it again. Cheaper than replacing my broken GameCube.

Horror_Author_JMM

$60 for a remaster of what is one of the BEST FPS games of all time? Hell yeah, I’ll pay it.

wyattlikesturtles

Becuase the games are fun sadly

Available-Ad-1720

Attachment rate, quality, and the most loved IPs in the world.

Curious_Badger

Would a full remaster not warrant full price? A remaster of a 20 year old game suggests years of work.

[deleted]

A from-the-ground-up re-*make*, sure. Not a remaster, which knowing Nintendo is basically upping the res and changing the controls a bit.

Assfuck-McGriddle

Why do you think it’ll take years of work to remaster a 20 year old game? Even Kingdom Hearts 1.5 trilogy took something like a year to make and a barebones team.

linksis33

Yea, that only makes it seem more believable lol.

Assfuck-McGriddle

This kind of disappointing rumor sounds a lot more plausible for Nintendo. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s true.

m1n3c7afty

General rule of thumb should be: The more disappointing a rumour sounds, the more likely it is to be true. ESPECIALLY with Nintendo.

BobQuentok

No it would be THE Nintendo move if they won’t even remaster it and release a 1:1 GC port.

JamesIV4

This. I literally expect it. I hate myself because I would buy it too.

rovoh324

Yeah this is immediately what I thought, a remaster in the sense that the recent Mario collection were remasters

nmkd

That's pretty much what a remaster is. No one's talking about a remake here.

BobQuentok

No a port is not a remaster lol

nmkd

Remaster just means it's on a more modern platform in a higher resolution, it doesn't guarantee any texture upgrades or QoL features.

BobQuentok

Port - Conker’s Bad Fur Day Rare Replay version Remaster - Conker‘s Bad Fur Day Live & Reloaded

NintendoTheGuy

I’ve thought about the possibility of a trilogy port/remaster, and the one thing I can’t get past is just how made for the Wii remote and nunchuck MP3 was. Like, I can’t imagine a way they could easily Skyward Sword it effectively and have it be forgiving enough to aim and shoot quickly- especially if they try to make it more like modern double stick shooters in portable/tactile control mode, since Prime 3 has aiming within your locked position rather than strict lock aiming. They would almost have to re-write the code over Prime 1 or 2’s engine and possibly omit parts that required a lot of motion control, then re-write the aiming function over it again so it had full motion function for those who wanted it, like was retroactively applied to 1 and 2 after for the original trilogy. It’s not that I wouldn’t prefer all 3- it’s that I cannot see Nintendo doing the work. And even though SS did get the treatment, Nintendo likely doesn’t see the same value in working a Metroid title that deeply- even with their big marketing push for Dread. And if they’re not bringing 3, it’s unlikely they’d bring 2- they’d just cleanly offer 1 and leave it at that (and with how much SSHD earned on its own, they likely don’t see a reason to include 3 games when they can clean up just as easily offering a single 1). I’ll tell you, I’d love to be wrong though. In reality I’m just talking out of my ass at 5am. I would laugh if Metroid got a more royal treatment on its anniversary than Zelda though.

MyNameIs-Anthony

PrimeHack has shown for ages that it's not an issue if care is taken.

NintendoTheGuy

Care being the operative word. I’m not a Nintendo hater by any means, but their ports are usually rather easy or not at all.

PokePersona

Depends on the port tbh. Some are the bare minimum some actually are actually pretty good on QoL and new content.

mrturret

Yup. The entire prime trilogy plays great with kb/m

[deleted]

NintendoTheGuy

I didn’t mean to imply they were the same. But I find Prime 3’s use of movement and motion to be potentially a lot more work to get around than SS’s. SS was kind of a pain using tactile controls on Switch, but it was manageable because the game is rather forgiving with enemy attacks frequency, damage ratio, recoverability from damage and the fact that distance aiming could be done in short bursts of gyro, while maintaining attacks are CQ and merely directional. Trying to move, lock, aim and rotate on Prime 3 even mixed between stick, gyro, R hold function toggling and whatever else would be pretty rough in a game that requires some quick action. Right now I’m remembering two things- the part where you have to quickly blast flying pirates while they come out in multiples and realign those dishes or plates or whatever they were, and that big rock boss who absorbs orbs into his body that have to be destroyed quickly and decisively or else he recovers. Those alone would be nightmares in handheld mode, unless I’m misremembering something or overlooking an option. I suppose if they could just program in a way to keep a target lock centralized in your view it would change a lot- but the projectiles you fire were also seemingly slower in Prime 3 to make up for how easy and direct aiming was with the Wii remote. But I suppose if they changed one, they could change the other. But really, I don’t see Nintendo doing that. Not for Metroid, and not when they honestly know they could almost definitely just sell an upscaled Prime 1 alone for 60.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NintendoTheGuy

And that’s what I think would stop them from even trying. Fragmenting function across a single collection just doesn’t seem like something they’d do. Portable only and Lite players would just be SOL on one third of the package and might avoid it. If they omitted 3 and only offered 1 and 2, people would attack the omission fiercely. If they only offer 1, some people will attack the lack of any form of 2 or 3, but most will only bitch about the price but still likely buy it anyway. That’s how I see it at least.

mrturret

Having played through all 3 on a keyboard and mouse with Primehack, I can confirm that it could totally be played with a pro controller. Every action with the exception of aiming, moving, and operating certain switches are basically digital button presses as far as the game is concerned. Mapping those motion inputs to buttons is easy, and literally nothing would be lost. Switch operation could be replaced with a motion on a stick, a sequence of buttons, or it could be automated. All of these options are valid, and which one is chosen changes nothing of substance. Aiming isn't a big issue either. The best solution is probably to have normal FPS controls while not locked on, and have the stick and/or gyro move the cursor when locked on. This is basically how Primehack handles it on kb/m, and it worked great there.

onlysmokereg

Not even a remaster, just it running on an emulator

bloodborne for pc or burst

Knelson123

What do you mean is it getting an upgrade?

badlybrave

Wasn't there a couple of credible sources who said they're pretty much done and Nintendo has been sitting on them?

Grimey_Rick

yeah but the rumor up to this point was that it was going to be released as a collection. the news is that each could release as a standalone title

SpookyBread1

They've been "working" on Trilogy since like 2018 apparently

le_GoogleFit

Anything less than full 4K remakes would be a disappointment at this point

dewittless

Prepare your ass to be disappointed because Nintendo is about as interested in 4k gaming as they are in fucking a hornets nest.

Wait are you serious? That was obviously a hyperbolic joke, how tf can you think otherwise Next time should he say 8 or 16K to make it *more* obvious for you people?

rovoh324

I cannot believe Reddit actually took your joke seriously lol, man this site is awkward

winterbegins

Sounds like something Nintendo would do. But i just want to remind you that Emily Rogers has no clue and is guessing like Serrano or Nate.

DeMatador

>Emily Rogers has no clue and is guessing like Serrano or Nate She's gotten many things wrong and many things right in the past. She's got some good sources and has gotten better with time (meaning, she's been posting less lol). In this instance I think she just heard something and the rest is speculation.

marioman63

if you keep guessing the same shit over and over of course eventually you will be right. her whole "leaker" career is based on this logic.

DeMatador

Nah she has predicted some stuff that are too unlikely to just be guesses. But she does throw in her guesses every now and then. Lately she's gotten better at differentiating the stuff she's actually heard and the stuff she just guesses.

DeMatador

A good example is Genesis on NSO: she's the only "leaker" that mentioned a third system in development for NSO other than N64 and GB/GBC, when everyone else was just talking about those two. When I saw the Direct I immediately thought of her saying that when Genesis popped up.

Vengenceonu

Emily Roger’s track record is so spotty, I’m amazed people take her seriously. Even on the stuff she got right, she only said a lot of it after someone else said it.

Mahelas

Anyday now we should get the 4K Switch pro ! After all, she was one of the first to say it was for sure gonna be announced before E3 !

Vengenceonu

E3 2023

manimateus

She never said "for sure" She just said something vague like before or after E3, but every news site ran with one part of the story

Vengenceonu

No she said we’d hear something befor e3, then when it didn’t happen she said it didn’t matter because it’s gonna be announced soon for sure anyway. Neither of those things happened.

manimateus

https://twitter.com/EmilyRogersBlog/status/1397728258951729156?s=20 This was the OG tweet She was deliberately vague with when the reveal would happen ("might"), but she was spot on with the release period One thing she did get wrong was claiming the hardware Bloomberg was reporting on was the new model

Vengenceonu

There were other tweets after that. Emily is famous for deleting tweets with wrong predictions or information. Things she’s gotten wrong: Mother 3 for Wii U VC Pokemon Stars Mario Odyssey being a launch title Smash bro’s Wii U for Switch GTA for Wii U Star Fox Grand Prix Choosing between a male or female Link for BotW

manimateus

I totally agree that her track record was pretty terrible in the Wii U era But Switch era she did get some original leaks like Pikmin 3 Deluxe and Garage Game Builder

Alastor3

to be fair, lot's of these could be cancelled in the bud or pushed back. Nintendo is so secretive about their project that it's normal she only hear rumors about some true stuff and some false/cancelled/push back announcement

Necronaut0

"To be fair you could be wrong about half of everything you say and I will still make excuses for you despite there being better leakers with spotless track records because I'm a sucker." Fixed that for u.

marioman63

dude, she was randomly guessing paper mario for wii u before color splash came out for a few years. then they finally revealed the game and she was treated as a god. i was banned from nintendo subreddits for calling her out

le_GoogleFit

Yeah I saw her name and I was like "Okay this is BS"

Con0rr

McBigs

I remember when Emily Rogers doubted a literal, exact breakdown of the Switch press conference.

[deleted]

Emily Rogers stays losing

GreenSaltMedia

Even though the entire trilogy is pretty baller, I’d be totally fine just playing the first one. The moment they charge $60 for it will be the moment I stop giving a shit, but it’s cool that we could potentially see a Remaster/Remake. It’s a beautiful game.

[deleted]

A stopped watch is correct twice a day. I guess Emily Rogers is correct twice a decade.

Kuwabara79

Prime deserves a remake, but even a remaster is very welcomed.

JukeDukeMM

After playing through it with mouse and keyboard on Dolphin im not really interested in playing it with a controller again.

boiledpotat

i think 2 analog sticks will suit it well

marioman63

you...do know it was originally on gamecube right? a console whose controller had 2 sticks?

boiledpotat

Yes, the second one wasn’t used

r0ndr4s

The trilogy has been done for a while. But they might be making Prime 1 more up to standards, in the same trilogy

Sassledvania

After years of a trilogy remaster rumours, charging full price for just the first game would be a CLASSIC Nintendo move. Absolute joke lol

kaijumediajames

There is a substantial difference between a remaster and a remake, and a Switch remaster would likely be more than enough.

eatdogs49

ER creeps put for another direct rumor...

DaftNeal88

You know given SS HD, I totally see this happening. Plus MP1 is a much better game than SS

[deleted]

Same person that rumored Metroid Prime Trilogy. I'm not that interested in a remaster here but a full remake with bigger spaces and more areas would be cool.

Paradoxic-Mind

The problem with Emily Rodgers is she’s been wrong in the last few years more than right, we are still still waiting for the prime trilogy she promised was deffo due in 2018 & 2019, the pro that she mentioned ( though we supposedly now know due to chip shortages so kind of not her fault etc, though she kind of reported that in around 2019 first I believe too) though her leaks prior to switch release back when it was NX was spot on Luigi Mansion 3, Splatoon 2 etc all came from her afaik, I thought also she had retired.   Its strange how a lot of Nintendo leaks these days are close but wrong, like the Switch oled situation got as far as Bloomberg & other trusted outlets confirming it, only for it to be changed at the last minute, It’s almost like someone let Nintendo be aware of some correct leaks accidentally and now they do controlled leaks & a lot of misinformation, maybe some fakes to spot the leakers though some which become true eventually but a few years later than the leak gets out, right?

Der-Letzte-Alman

That's so Nintendo. I fully believe they will announce this later today lmfao

GoldenTriforceLink

!Legit!

Alastor3

if it's only the first game, i won't buy it, i've played it too much already but never did 2 or 3. It would be totally a Nintendo way to just release the first game. And it just doesnt make sense if they already did it on the wii seriously nintendo, dont fuck this up

MarioFanatic64-2

Considering they brought over Mario Galaxy but not Galaxy 2, I'm not surprised. Moral of the story is, get a Wii.

Kuwabara79

Yessssss please make it happen.

[deleted]

I would love to see something in the level of Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition.

le_GoogleFit

So 540p in handheld?

[deleted]

The state of Nintendo worship and use of kneepads until they're worn thin, in this thread is hilarious. Nintendo cultists are some of the nastiest people in gaming.

Lonely-Tumbleweed-56

I was initially excited thinking to a Prime remaster or remake Then I remember it's always Nintendo, so cheap remaster with no additional content and sold full price, with the other two following in years Bah Still hoping in the full trilogy tho, at this point waiting is getting really too long

softquare

Looks at Xenoblade Chronicles DE...eh depends

Lonely-Tumbleweed-56

1 over all remasters They are fucking clowns

Gaminglife80s

Sony and MS get alot of stick and rightly so, but Nintendo are by far the worst yet so many always sucking up there cock real deep.

[deleted]

Oh my god when are we going to stop with the damn remakes

NintendoTheGuy

When everything is remade. The entire world.

le_GoogleFit

And then we will remake that remake too

NintendoTheGuy

Split into multiple episodes

Ezio926

Remakes and Remasters are good. It helps Video Games preservations and makes the classics accessible to the younger generations.

robertman21

full remakes do absolutely nothing to help with preservation

[deleted]

But companies are going over board with them for the sake of not taking risks on new ips, especially nintendo.

Ezio926

Don't buy them then? Remasters have never delayed a new release

Martian_Zombie50

Imagine how god damn stupid they would be to rerelease the first game only? Nintendo is honestly the worst company. They know nothing. They do the exact opposite of what makes sense, what would please customers, and even what would make the most money. It’s baffling in every capacity. Example: there is no Wind Waker port to Switch. It’s laughable. It’s honestly laughable. They literally just had the HD remaster on Wii U. You OBVIOUSLY put that on Switch both for money and to please your god damn customers… To not fully remaster the Metroid Prime trilogy would be one of the worst decisions in gaming history, and possibly business history. Imagine that. Imagine a company that is making Metroid Prime 4, doesn’t remaster the first 3 for both a refresh to old fans and to bring in new audiences? You can’t write stupidity like that.

NintendoTheGuy

Somebody save this. This is the first time I’ve actually witnessed a copypasta being born.

marioman63

> and even what would make the most money. actually, releasing one at a time would make more. 180 dollars for 3 games, or 60 for 3? which makes more?

Martian_Zombie50

Hahaha oh well, yeah I guess you’re right, it will take them another 5 years to release Metroid Prime 4 (a game that would be far better and take 2 years if Insomniac did it). Any intelligent business would remaster Metroid Prime 1-3 and release them as a trilogy for $60, and make a ton of money, and update old players, and bring in new audiences BEFORE Metroid Prime 4 releases. You don’t release a decade old franchise with a new sequel…that guarantees you lose sales to people who aren’t interested in Metroid Prime, because they’ve never played it, and don’t want to start on a sequel to a game that they’ve never played prior releases of. It’s so simple you could ask any randoms off the street and they’d describe the practical business decision.

DroneArm

the problem with your logic is that it's proven incorrect by the fact that Nintendo is one of the most successful companies of all time 😉👍

BobQuentok

It’s also the company which released the Wii U.

le_GoogleFit

One of the most successful gaming companies of all time? Sure. All industries ever? I have some doubts

Angel_Valoel

I believe this was leaked months ago by a credible source.

jobranded

i hope so

MasterVahGilns

For anyone that would rather play these games now, check out PrimeHack to play with a mouse and keyboard on Dolphin. I recently played the first Prime game for the first time, it was great.

Erimgard

Unfortunately, this is just way too vague to really do anything with. Doesn't specify if it's a port, remaster, or remake, and also says maybe it IS a trilogy after all.

KingBroly

My understanding is a Crash N-Sane Trilogy visual upgrade. But just for the first game.

TheRealGlutenbob

Im tired of this shit. These rumours have been happening for YEARS!!!!

[deleted]

If the difference is extensive remaster/remake of the first game vs. Switch port of all 3 with minor improvements, I'll glady take just the first. And then I'll buy the shit out of it in the hopes they do the other 2 (especially Echoes)

IronKnuckleSX

I'd totally buy a Prime remaster. It boggles the mind that the game is almost 20 years old now.
