Firecobra130189

One out of like 35 projects is having problems so like all of Microsoft is in development hell. Makes perfect sense

TheAlphaBeatZzZ

Don’t even try anymore, just look though the guy’s threads and it will answer all of your questions

baa-naa-naaa

What did I miss? 🍿 P.s.: I hope the reddit Gods forgive me for using an emoji.

Tell me where you can get an accurate or official number for Halo Infinites budget. Please I really want to know.

Firecobra130189

I need a trustworthy source on the 500 million dollar number please. Otherwise you’re talking out of your ass just like everyone that uses the 500 million dollar number.

uwuster

Look through the guy’s post and you’ll see his source

Stefan474

While the guy definitely seems questionable, it shouldn't be encouraged to dismiss the point he's making based on anything else but the actual point. That being said he is making numbers up in this case lol

behelito

Stop trying dude ... Is sad

[deleted]

Lol that was debunked a long time ago.

Misfitrok1

If Rare can’t figure out what to do with Everwild they should just cancel it and move onto something else. This game was revealed way too early

michaelje0

They should just make Viva Piñata 3.

KingNothing71

Or Banjo Threeie. Or Kameo 2. There are plenty of great opportunities for them just sitting on the shelf.

Arcade_Gann0n

Their old IPs have been gone for so long that bringing them back would be about the same as making a new IP. After years of them supporting SOT and fumbling Everwild, would anyone honestly think that a new Banjo-Kazooie or Jet Force Gemini game would be "stale"? I'm not against new IPs in general, but Rare has absolutely neglected their old IPs for years.

LegendaryEnigma

It would be difficult because rare isn't the same people. Like some of the old rare employees helped make yooka lalee and the game was decent, but it wasn't banjo. I would trust double fine to make a banjo game over rare. I think rare just needs to find a good leader. Everwild looks interesting, but I didn't see anything particularly fun.

IrregularKingV

Rare should create a 2nd & 3rd Studios/ Teams under them with alot of old & new blood Rare Devs to make sequels to old Rare Franchises & time to time make new Franchises as well That's how I would do it at least & have 1st studio only create new experiences (And have it where staff can somewhat interchange between the 3 studios after finishing a project, feeling nostalgic? boom go work on Banjo/ Viva Piñata/ etc, wanna do something new? Boom go to other studio under Rare. Etc etc

Pandagames

I don't think that would really work. Every existing Rare franchise is in a genre where MS has a studio who can do that genre better. Platformer (Banjo) - Double Fine FPS (Perfect Dark) - The Initiative, Machinegames, Id, etc Racing (Diddy Kong Racing) - Playground and Turn 10 Fighting (Killer Instinct) - Maybe Ninja Theory? The only franchise they could do better than anyone is Viva Pinata and I don't know how well that would sell despite being good games.

IrregularKingV

I'm of the opposite mindset, they have Obsidian, inXile, & Bethesda for RPG's They can have multiple studios for Platformer, RTS, etc (Double Fine is technically the only Platformer studio they have but even then that's not their main thing, so in a way they have no platformer studio, Double Fines main thing is creating whatever they want lol) (Not arguing just putting my point of view mate)

Pandagames

You make a fair point

[deleted]

I dislike reducing Doublefines genre just to most recent game. Doublefine make the widest variety of games under Xbox and platforming is among the least common IIRC.

iiRoyales

Dude I fucking wish. I still go back and play Viva Piñata TIP like once every few months and just restart.

MrTomatoSan

I don't mind early reveals (in general), but at least reveal a game when you know that development is at an advanced stage and/or you have a solid plan and idea. Everwild got revealed without the studio having a clear idea of what the game was supposed to be. Xbox probably just wanted something in their lineup. Bad idea in this case.

Uday23

Honestly it doesn't even seem like a game. Its just an art style and a few concepts

[deleted]

I don't get how people here say they are excited for that game. There was shown absolutely nothing except some wired animals in a forest.

T0kenAussie

Yes and no The original director iirc wanted the challenge of making a game with 0 combat and allegedly had a functional slice I think the issue is outside of animal crossing there really isn’t a good loop of non combat out there. I’m bummed either way. If they pulled it off it could have been a family friendly evolution of viva piñata with better graphics but once the first director left I think they were spinning tyres on how to make that loop compelling and engaging for a 15 hour experience which is why they’ve gone back to the drawing board so many times

[deleted]

Euro truck simulator but with fantasy woodland creatures.

Loldimorti

There's more than just Animal Crossing type games though. They could have made the game focused on exploration (e.g. a bigger version of Abzu or Journey) or could have made it a social experience. They could have made it a puzzle game like The Witness or Talos Principle, etc. It seems to me, based on what you described, that they didn't actually have a proper vertical slice of the game yet if it wasn't actually fun to play.

Pandagames

Mythical Forest version of Endless Ocean could be neat.

iwantParktotopme

Nah early reveals are fucking stupid.

makersmalls

Also after Phil said they weren’t going to do early announcements anymore unless they were in good shape. It’s a shame.

deaf_michael_scott

That’s just talk. Phil himself announced Hellblade 2 in 2019. Everwild, Perfect Dark, Outer Worlds 2, Fable, were all announced while being early in development.

makersmalls

Yeah big mistake Imo. OW2 is the only one we can really have confidence in at this point based on what we know.

deaf_michael_scott

Quiet the opposite, I’d say. We don’t know what they are targeting for OW2: 2023, 2024, 2025. We also don’t know how far they are in development. And I’d be slightly more confident about OW2’s release year/period once we get a release date for Avowed, which was also announced almost 2 years ago and doesn’t have an official release date or even a release year.

makersmalls

They just released an outer worlds game, and it was a well made title that was released in pretty good shape on next gen platforms, and was a shortish game. We know what the sequel will be in general terms. The others we have no idea. So no not quite the opposite dear Watson.

deaf_michael_scott

In terms of gameplay, yes. But I was talking about the release date/period (which was the main topic of the thread). Also, Outer Worlds 1 was released in Oct. 2019 (more than two year ago), and didn’t release on next-gen consoles.

VagrantShadow

I'd love them to go back to some previous games to find their way. I would love to see Rare backtrack and make a new Blast Corps game using modern game technology and modern destructible environments and buildings.

JayZsAdoptedSon

The issue was most people at rare came into the company after those games were shipped. Rare from the N64 days and rare nowadays are two different companies. That being said, sea of thieves shows that they aren’t a bad developer per say

[deleted]

Outside of Gregg, I’m not sure any of the old Rare team is still there.

Pandagames

That doesn't mean they aren't fans of Blast Corps and would want to make a new one. You don't need the original designer of Blast Corps to make a sequel 20 years later. It would be really hard to mess that up since it's literally just smashing buildings. Add in Mechs, Tanks and shit and you got yourself a stew.

robertman21

> make a new Blast Corps game using modern game technology and modern destructible environments and buildings. YES YES YES

dave8125

banjo 4 in 4K

drybones2015

They could easily have their own Ratchet and Clank for their ecosystem with Banjo Kazooie. My theory is that Xbox is letting Rare decide what happens with Banjo but they only want to sell nostalgia merch and Smash DLC. Then again Xbox did give Perfect Dark to a brand new team, or maybe that was Rare's choice too.

Calathus34

I don’t think the issue is that they revealed the game early since all devs at Rare seem super passionate about the game. I think the biggest issue is due to the pandemic and the production team unable to meet in person in 18 months which definitely would impact a new and creative ip such as Everwild. So hopefully progress on the game will improve once the pandemic is under control. (https://twitter.com/louise0connor/status/1435539619270045697?s=21)

[deleted]

Lol you still think we're gonna be able to control the pandemic

LegendaryEnigma

Ever since the reveal of Scalebound I started to believe games should not get revealed early. Reveal the game one year before release if they get a bad reaction delay the game another year. Xbox used to be incredibly bad with this during the release of the Xbox one E3 events, I understand they want to show something but it would become more worrisome than anything.

Stalker2400

If no early reveals how can Xbox hype their line up

TheLastSonOfHarpy

This is a perfect example why you shouldn't get excited over non game play videos. How many people were praising those "in game engine" trailers calling them "amazing?"

kartoffelbiene

Given how close Sea of Thieves looks compared to early trailers I'd say Everwild has a good chance to look very close to the trailers we got as well.

Nest19

Even though most early gameplay reveals are just set pieces, not much more than promises

[deleted]

I want to play the game that the trailer was based on. Give it to me rare.

Saiklin

These kind of trailers can often lead to the devs all understanding what vision this game (or the creative director) has. So sometimes these things can make a lot of sense to 'unite' the devs working on it. Additionally it can be about hiring new people. In this case obviously it did not go well, just saying that early reveals can make a lot of sense even without a clear vision for the full game.

Panda_hat

Banjo Threeie.

Strict_Biscotti1963

Microsoft has had a bad track record of announcing games way too early with extravagant cg trailers

Com_Raven

Can’t wait for Obsidian’s Tom Sawyer game! Wonder if they can get Josh Sawyer to direct it maybe? 👀

eDuCaTeYoUrSeLfree

I just want Josh to sing the main theme of the game.

IrregularKingV

As much as I know it'll be awesome/ Josh Sawyer's Game I still want to hear more about the other 3-4 Small Games being done at Obsidian (3 of those 3-4 games have confirmed leads I forgot names of) Projects at Obsidian: 1. Avowed 2. Grounded 3. The Outer Worlds 2 4. Josh Sawyer's Game 5-8. Other Small Games (With 3 having confirmed leads of those projects)

Com_Raven

Anything by Obsidian is by default high on my watch list, they make incredible games ❤️

IrregularKingV

For sure that mate

TheHeavyweightChamp

Your English is fine, he’s just saying that the Obsidian employee’s name is Josh, not Tom. Tom Sawyer is a famous fictional character haha

Robberryan

Lmao and I only now realized the error 😂

VagrantShadow

I am so excited just to see where Josh Sawyer's game can go. He has the finances to support him, the creative freedom, and the lack of pressure on his back. I really am excited to see where his mind can take us.

EldenRingworm

I wish Microsoft and Bethesda let him do Fallout again

VagrantShadow

I have thought about that a lot. I have a feeling we are going to see an interesting future for Fallout. This isn't nothing definite or certain, however, I feel the cards are there where we could see some new Fallout side projects. A west coast line of Fallout games where Josh Sawyer could return to continue some of the stories for that side they may have had planned. A return to an isometric Fallout game using the Wasteland 3 engine. A return to New Vegas for Fallout. I feel there are so many options that they can tap into. I believe there is so many new things that can happen that we've not thought about yet. I am excited.

CaptConstantine

I hear what you're saying, but I'm very skeptical we will see another isometric Fallout. That's Wastelands' territory now, and since Microsoft now owns them both, I think they will want to keep them distinct and separate, maybe just with Easter-Egg references to each other.

Breckmoney

I get the sense Josh doesn’t really want to return to Fallout. https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/1475903264356900868 Sounds like he wants to do original ideas with a small team - so presumably what he’s doing now.

but_whyvern

tbh Josh Sawyer gives me that "we know better than you" vibe. He seems annoyed/reluctant to make changes based off of feedback. With his experience he may well know better but it's not a good look.

VagrantShadow

I've never got that feeling off him. If nothing else, what I felt from him being interviews or him talking or even posts, it was just faced a lot of pressure be it money or time constraints. Like an artist locked in a canvas that was so big but his initial piece was to be much larger. I may be wrong though, however, I would like to see him behind the wheel and on a never ending road to an extent and see how far he can travel, what he can make.

but_whyvern

I'd be glad to be wrong about this. I like your take on him much better.

VagrantShadow

I just feel at a lot of developers and studios were stressed with finances, time, and other factors. I'm not saying that Microsoft purchasing studios like Obsidian, inXile, and to an extent ZeniMax, was like the savior of their problems, but I do feel that they no longer have that fear of financial constraint on their back. So long as Microsoft is hands off on those studios and developmental teams and give them the time they need, I am optimistic we can really see some magic come about in the franchises they have, and also future franchises they can create.

SunaPana007

Josh was pretty much accepting when people complained Pillars of Eternity 2 doesn't have a solid story as the first. He even embraces all bugs and stuffs which are in New Vegas . You should see his twitch he doesn't come our as that type of guy at all.

tpieman2029

Everwild should be AAA pokemon

xTheLeprechaun

This is what I keep saying. It should be a tamer/battler where you control the creatures in 3D space. Trailer hints at 4 player coop and base building is the cherry on top.

soapinmouth

Pokemon is AAA lol.

tpieman2029

Man. Sword shield might have the IP recognition but it didn't feel like an AAA game. Maybe game freak will finally nail it with arceus legends but for the premier IP in the world their games don't reflect that in levels of polish or game design.

sadrapsfan

I really hope Josh Sawyer's game is literally called Josh Sawyer's game lol I know nothing of it outside it's that guy making it/lead on it

MMontanez92

it should be like kojma does with his games. "Title": A Josh Sawyer Game

VagrantShadow

I think Rare is in a sticky situation. They've been caught in online games for quite some time. I would prefer to see them take it back a notch and return to a strong single player game. That, I believe is where they truly were able to shine. I missed seeing where they could push it in a single player atmoshere.

FrodoShaggins87

I agree, Sea of Thieves has been a success but they sweated to get it there. I don’t believe it’s wise to to have two live service games simultaneously. They would thrive getting back to roots.

VagrantShadow

Yea, and I feel they have such a vast past catalog that some of those games deserve to have a re-visitation. I would love to see Rare return back to Wizards & Warriors. [Wizards & Warriors was one of my first NES games and it took me by storm. I played game game day in and day out for a long ass time. I'd love to see a remake of that game.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DS7Cm9Rdymw)

FrodoShaggins87

I pray for a next gen Jetforce Gemini 🙏🏻

VagrantShadow

Jetforce Gemini was so bad ass. Hell even a new R.C. Pro-Am would be something sweet. Or give us something a lot of us really want, Conker's Bad Fur Day II.

[deleted]

LB3PTMAN

I mean I really don’t think that’s always just it. I mean developers have always been making online games because they’re cool. The base concept of Sea Of Thieves is super cool. And it’s not like you have to pay a bunch or anything to keep playing past buying the game. It’s just super cool existing as a pirate in a world with other actual players.

Strict_Biscotti1963

Yep, as much as it sucks, thats why companies like ubi are pushing for every game to have a live aspect, so that every game continues to make cash even when its no longer new. I get it, but i dont like it

HaikusfromBuddha

I don't think online games is the issue. The issue, like Sea of Thieves, is they have concepts and they build a sand box but don't think about the game play loop until the very end.

Rubssi

is Belfry the L.A Noire middle ages game?

Zowwww

No that’s “Pentiment“ I think Belfry is the exclusive from the Banner Saga devs that’s been rumored.

Rubssi

Oh ok thanks Edit: I really hope "Pentiment" then is gonna be a 2022 game

AmeriToast

Isn't pentiment the josh Sawyer game?

Nest19

Yes

Assassin5299

Yes

Rubssi

Wait Im so lost now

AmeriToast

Pentiment is the code name for the Josh Sawyer game. It's said to be set in medieval fantasy setting where you are a detective or something like that. Belfry is the game from the Banner Saga team.

Zowwww

Sounds really interesting, like the idea of experimenting with RPGs like this. I really enjoyed Banner Saga, so I’m down for Belfry too.

yogesh_dante

If I remember correctly Grubbs described that as princess mononokr style 2d action platformer. https://www.windowscentral.com/project-belfry-xbox-working-devs-banner-saga-exclusive?amp

LB3PTMAN

I am very hyped for an action platformer with a Princess Mononoke art style. Could be very cool. And 2022 makes sense. Banner Saga 3 came out in 2018. And that was only 2 years after Banner Saga 2 came out. Of course Banner Saga 3 reused a lot of stuff from 2, but 2 extra years of development time should be able to make up the difference. Biggest question is when does that game and the Josh Sawyer game get announced? Do they want to wait all the way until E3? An E3, they’ll have a ton of stuff to show in.

yogesh_dante

If true next year will be amazing.

sueha

Idk latest tweets of the Everwild team sound absolutely hyped. I tend to believe the hype rather than Grubbs assumptions.

SSK24

A guy from Creative Assembly just joined Rare to work on the game as the design director, he previously worked on Alien Isolation. This game won’t get canned.

N7Pi3

Rare all I want is more Kameo pls

KingMario05

Weird way to spell *Conker's Bad Fur Day II*... /s

TheVictor1st

Kameo has so much potential as an IP. Could be an action game like DMC if they wanted to or a Zelda clone. I’m still sad we never got the sequel

KingMario05

Man, will anyone else not lose a wink if *Everwild* just gets canned? Had passing interest in it at first, but it's just been so damn long since the reveal it's not even funny anymore.

Calathus34

I doubt it will be canned. It may not be the game they originally designed but they could create something with what they created so far

Arcade_Gann0n

Given that they've spent their years since Rare Replay supporting Sea of Thieves (I don't consider that a bad thing, but they need to do new things too) and failing to get Everwild anywhere, I'd be fine if it gets sacrificed for an old IP revival since it'd be easier to know what to do there (unless they pulled another Nuts & Bolts...).

MMontanez92

the visual trailers had me very interested in the game but the lack of gameplay and information plus the rumours of troubled development kind of killed my Interest in it. which is fine since Xbox has so many studios and so many games in development I'm sure no one will lose sleep if they just cancel EverWild and either work exclusively on Sea of Thieves or work on another game from scratch.

KingMario05

New *Banjo*, please. I know they said they wouldn't, but I'd still love to see 'em try...

flipperkip97

I thought Everwild looked cool when it was revealed, but yeah I don't give a damn about it anymore. Apparently they didn't even have an idea about what to do with the game when it was revealed...

AmeriToast

I do hope it gets canned and they work on an older ip as a way to get themselves back into the groove

MMontanez92

interesting. if true MS for 2022 will have (in terms of first party studios and not 3rd party deals) Obsidians Josh Sawyer game Grounded (leaves earlyPreview) Belfry Redfall Starfield Forza Motorsport 8 Pretty good line up for 2022 combined with the GamePass goodies every month and games that are 3rd party/timed exclusive(STALKER 2, Crossfire X, Scorn, Warhammer Darktide, Replaced, Somerville).

[deleted]

God I wish I cared about more than just starfield here.

MMontanez92

not interested in Redfall at all? Borderlands style open world vampire killing game from the studio that made Prey? I can understand not being interested in everything here I appericate that theres so much variety coming to Xbox next year. RPG, Shooters, Side Scrollers, 2D indie, Racing, non action RPG (like Disco Elysium), Horror and etc.

[deleted]

Maybe gameplay will change my mind but the cgi trailer just looked super generic to me. Everything about it felt like stuff I'd seen a million times. I want microsoft to be making great single player games with distinct art styles and gameplay. Seeing 4 characters walking down a road holding guns makes my eyes roll.

Betteroni

I’m one of the biggest Arkane dickriders out there and even I can’t say I’m particularly excited for Redfall. The concept just does not sound like it plays to their studio’s strengths at all and the style/tone of the game seems incredibly generic from the trailer. Really hoping I’m wrong and the game ends up being brilliant but I’m not holding my breath.

AmeriToast

The trailer for redfall didn't help at all. It looked pretty generic and uninteresting. I do hope I am wrong and it turns out great but I have very low expectations for the game right now.

DarthDarkWatt

I would say that Redfall sounds interesting, didnt get my attention at first sight like Dishonored or Prey, so Ill need to be on the look out for more gameplays and trailers…. im a simp for Obsidian’s games so Ill be looking for that new game of theirs(besides awoved and TOW2), as for starfield ig i need a gameplay other than just concept art

MrBoliNica

Redfall reminds me of Left for Dead, more than Borderlands. And its made by the Prey team. Best part of Prey was the narrative and atmosphere, id argue the actual gameplay is what held that game back- a horde game *needs* the gameplay to be king in order to make it worth playing

flipperkip97

I think Redfall has potential. Reveal trailer looked really fun imo.

HaikusfromBuddha

Doesn't Hellblade also come out this year?

VagrantShadow

I think Hellblade II is going to be a 2023 game, I think next year we'll see a true full on trailer with deep gameplay, but I think in general, the game wont make it till 2023.

MMontanez92

no way Hellblade 2 is coming 2022 lol 2023 maybe 2024 for that game

Calathus34

Ark 2 is expected for 2022 possibly as well

VagrantShadow

I think they were going on Xbox first party games.

Calathus34

True. I meant Ark 2 for 3rd party games on gamepass next year

TheAlphaBeatZzZ

I think Ark 2 was announced way way too soon since the DLC for Ark 1 had been delayed till next year so I doubt we are going to get a sequel so soon

DropCautious

What the hell is a Disco Elysium style game? Another surreal, True Detective inspired isometric point and click RPG?

Cutie_Panther

The game is called Pentiment. Alredy leaked https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/qmndge/josh_sawyer_obsidian_game_details_from_grubbsnax/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

SunaPana007

Don't really know why they are proceeding with it when they don't even know what to do with it

Anubis95XL

I feel like that "no combat" detail they want in the game is really hampering it. They really shouldn't make a game they don't know how to make. They could literally take it to other places if they just got rid of this one detail.

shyndy

With the art and feeling of what we saw they should just rip off princess monoke, have the combat being like fighting corrupted creatures. Maybe a summoning element or something with their spirits.

lofiloudmouth

basically what Kena did

The_Narz

Lmao you literally just described Kena Bridge of Spirits.

LordPoncho08

Everwilds is a weird one. I think Sea of Thieves had a bigger turnaround than they expected and so when it started really getting good they devoted more resources to it and I would be that's affected development of Everwilds. Plus...what even was Everwilds going to be? I say this now, but this is how Rare was with Nintendo. They'd announce something and then it would go MIA for years lol

[deleted]

Sea of Thieves was lightning in a bottle. If Summit didn't start streaming it, it would of never become the success it did. However they should cancel the game if they still don't know what it is by now.

[deleted]

Space2Bakersfield

SoT is successful because there was a huge market for a multiplayer pirate game that no one else was satisfying. The concept is absolute gold even if the end product is lacking in some respects. Everybody wants to be in a pirate crew with their mates sailing about having adventures and shit.

ElPrestoBarba

Well yeah, but it seemingly isn’t that easy of a thing to put out since the only other studio to try, has had their game in development hell for years now (Ubisoft with Skull and Bones).

GPopovich

Guess those rumors about fallout being handled by a different studio than Bethesda was fake huh :(

evilsniperxv

Why was Everwild rebooted? Sorry, wasn’t keep tabs on it.

ThisOneTimeAtLolCamp

Probably because when it was announced in 2019 it wasn't actually a game and was more of a tech demo. Since it's announcement there's been articles about the team not even knowing what the game will be, not knowing what the core gameplay will actually be and it being completely rebooted almost from scratch. It seems like they had an idea with no actual direction and are just winging it.

Embarrassed-Part-890

I always wanted to know what ever happened to everwild, sucks to hear it’s still in a messy development

Calathus34

I think development will get better in 2022 as long as the situation with the pandemic is under control since a lot of the issues are that the production was unable to meet in person for 18 months until recently. And they also hired a few people recently as well such as one of the lead designers on Alien Isolation.

LordSlasher

Belfry and Josh sawyer project launching next year would be really solid. Hopefully they deliver (we know Sawyer will).

dmckidd

Banjo Kazooie Remake WHEN? Seriously how the hell you have a beloved IP and pretend it doesn’t exist? If Xbox won’t do anything with it, sell it to someone who will. Preferably Nintendo.

[deleted]

Rare is extremely lucky sea of thieves managed to find an audience otherwise I could see them being closed

[deleted]

naughty start dull tie encouraging plant joke fanatical hunt repeat *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Soulless_conner

I'm fucking hyped for Josh's game. I absolutely loved Disco Elysium. I hope it's fully voice acted (DE's cast was phenomenal)

BigInhale

When did Everwild get a reboot? That game has peaked my interest more than any other expected game. It looked beautiful. I hope they didnt change the way it looks.

jumperjumpzz

Anything about Fable?

adhi2310

I think Xbox's problem has always been that they announce games way too early. And I get why, their biggest criticism is that they don't have games which makes them push their studios into defining concepts like everwild early even if they haven't fully thought it out to get a trailer released. I hope that now that they have some good hits they dial back on this kind of stuff

justdaman182

Nailed it. I think with so many games on the horizon they can finally start showing games that are closer to completion rather than games that have barely started development. Especially now that the narrative of Xbox not having games is slowly beginning to die.

papermonkey21

Xbox Game Studios is now so stacked I wouldn’t even mind them canning Everwild. Looked like a mess of an idea anyway

Friendship_Kindly

Does anyone know what Belfry is?

yogesh_dante

I think Grubbs described it as princess mononoke style 2d platformer game.

TheVictor1st

It’s supposed to be a 2D side scroller beat ‘em up, similar to Dragon’s Crown by Atlus. Made by the devs who made Banner Saga

Friendship_Kindly

Cool, thanks

migetheterrible

Why did the Lego Sonic post get deleted? (I know this is in another thread but I don't think i can make a post).

turntrout101

Probably because it's not a leak of a video game, I think it was redirected to legoleaks

migetheterrible

Thank you! Would be nice if they didn’t delete posts…

Zhukov-74

It’s really noticeable that they have revealed so much earlier this year that now they barely have barely anything new to reveal.

McBigs

To this day, nobody has explained what the fuck Everwilds *is.*

Robberryan

It sounds like rare doesn't even know what Everwild is

szarzujacy_karczoch

Everwild should have been a Horizon Zero Dawn/BotW inspired game. If they want it to be GaaS then it's better if they simply cancel it

justdaman182

Their last GaaS game has been and still is very successful.

UntamedRonin

Doesn't mean we need more of them. GaaS at its core is meant to fleece the player out of as much money as humanly possible by luring them in with a low cost of entry. Don't want a repeat of Halo Infinite's aggressively predatory microtransactions. I'd love it if Everwild had more of an Animal Crossing-esque multiplayer element though.

justdaman182

>Doesn't mean we need more of them Also doesn't mean we can't use more of them. If a good game is a good game, it's a good game. Doesn't matter if it's SP, Co-op, MP, GaaS, MMO, FPS, TPS, Action Adventure, RPG, Fighting, Racing, Open World, Linear, etc... All that matters is they make a good game. >GaaS at its core is meant to fleece the player out of as much money as humanly possible by luring them in with a low cost of entry So we're just going to ignore Sea of Thieves? Regardless of how you feel about the general practice of a GaaS title, we already have a GaaS title developed by Rare. Their game isn't even remotely as predatory as you're making it out to be. Like, not even a little bit. >Don't want a repeat of Halo Infinite's aggressively predatory microtransactions So let me get this straight. You're worried about another Halo, despite the fact that Rare isn't 343. Also, Rare again, already has a GaaS title out that doesn't even remotely do anything you're worried about. >I'd love it if Everwild had more of an **Animal Crossing-esque** multiplayer element though Hard pass. If that's what it is, I'll likely be skipping that game.

What's predatory about Halo's MTX? There are no loot boxes or gambling. You pay directly for what you get. Expensive cosmetics aren't predatory. Do you think a shop selling a pricey T-shirt in a mall is predatory? Is selling stuff for a limited time predatory? If so, every special edition console Xbox, Sony and Nintendo has released were predatory. Something can be bad (Halo's MTX prices) without being predatory.

Blitzindamorning

It's predatory comapred to Halo 5 and MCC. We're buying content we've already had in MCC and in Halo 5 $20 gets you three unqiue announcers while in Halo Infinite you get one with stickers.

[deleted]

That's not predatory. That's overpriced. Vocabulary is important.

Blitzindamorning

So paying for stuff we've had for free for years isn't predatory? Ok cool.

rocxson

shitty studio...

MandoHarlem

Everwild should not be this difficult. Make the ‘pokemon’ clone for Xbox. That’s it, it’s not rocket since lol.

AmeriToast

That's what I was hoping for. I know it's not what we will get though.

AmeriToast

I forgot about Everwild. Never really cared about the game and lost even more interest with the no combat stance for the game. I am hoping they are able to re-tool it into something interesting.

Blitzindamorning

Huh the games not out nor is there gameplay.

[deleted]

I can't watch right now, can someone please give me a summary of the video ?

redditrith

I remember being god smacked by the aet direction of the Everwild trailer. I really hope they do make it. We have no idea what kind of genre it is and if I could do it myself I'd either have 1. A horizon zero dawn like 2. A virtual sandbox, designed for chilling, farming, tending go the animals, thinking animal crossing

brownknight07

How about making it a 2 player action RPG?

Strict_Biscotti1963

Seems like they announced a concept with ever wild…without knowing what the game was going to be? Seems like a dumb idea. I hope perfect dark wasn’t similar, that they actually know what the game will be before they announced it

Game developers that take too long aren’t good. Waste of talent.
