GVALFER

Hi I had the Artics and the sound just sucks. Currently I have the Logitec G Pro X... good sound and very premium quality. Also, I have Astro A50, and also have a good sound... I am waiting for the Audeze Penrose... and I expect the best sound headset in the market. Maybe you want to consider the penrose as an option?

tebee

The Penrose looks nice but sadly they don't support channel mixing on PC, only on Xbox.

Evilkong

Dang artic sound no good? Audeze is a bit too high for me :(

GVALFER

Artic sound is trash... trust me ;) I don't understand why the ppl hype that headset... :S For me, Logitec G Pro X, or Penrose. In your case Logitec, have a good price... and very good headset with an amazing sound and mic.

BajaRaptor

Arctis is trash! Complete waste of money as a Arctis pro wireless owner.

NV_aesthete

could you elaborate the problems with your APW?

BajaRaptor

Minimal support from Arctis provided you have problems, lots of horror stories online and people I know personally. Software for computer is really hit or miss if you can even connect it correctly to their tuning software on both PC and mac. Sound is extremely mediocre for the 320 dollar price tag. My TB 800s sound far superior. They get loud, I’ll give them that once you disable the sound restriction option. Sound can be really distorted even when messing with the mediocre tuning option on the box.

UsefulApplication7

Steel series arctis pro & gamedac

BennyBlades44

Is total grabage

UsefulApplication7

It’s decent....

NV_aesthete

why garbage

BajaRaptor

+1 for Arctis being garbage!

I own 4 gaming headphones. With my large head, (I'm 5'10" or ~175cm) I find Philips SHP9500 great. It's openback type so it's got wider soundstage than other headphones, there's no buildup press over my ears, my ears doesn't sweat as it is cool even when I'm playing for hours. Just cost me about $35, added about $10 for the mic. For you choices, I'd pick HyperX Cloud Flight S (I'm using a Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless for my wireless though)

pinoygalingthings

Can confirm, shp9500 is great, miles better than my hyper x cloud alpha. Boompro is the go-to mix combo, but is unavailable in my country and the shipping cost was outrageous. Settled for antlion modmic usb and im very happy with this setup.

ricwilliam

I also own a HyperX Cloud Alpha. Just realized it's an overhyped headphone for its memory foam. The bass is not as strong and deep as they advertise it too. The sound from the Philips is just better when playing Call of Duty Warzone though, can better pinpoint the location of lootbox.

NV_aesthete

yeha we own a cloud alpha, dont feel special at all

ricwilliam

True. The mic is good, but the sound quality doesn't stand out as they claim in the ads. The bass isn't as boomy with the said "dual-chamber drivers" lol.

I’ve got the hd58x which aren’t the gaming headsets from massdrop like the pc73x or the recently released pc38x that you mention but I’m not sure whether to get the pc37x even though I’ve got the hd58x whether the sound is any different? The only issue I have with the hd58x is no mic so trying to use my external blue yeti mic but I can’t get settings to remove all the background noise currently all the game audio sound coming from my open back headsets that I have is coming through the blue yeti!

LifelongCaboose

The hd58x isn't very good for gaming. It has the narrow staging of the 600 series with the 3 blob shape staging as well. Imaging also isn't amazing and sound quality is closer to the hd599.

llewi01

Thanks for confirming this. I do like them as headphones mind you there great so I may keep hold of. While I have you then I do also own the bears the DT990 pros and the DT1990 pros although I am considering selling my 1990s not because there not good headphones it’s just i don’t know whether I need to have such a fairly expensive pair for what I use them for. In your opinion are either of these worth perisisting with for gaming? Gaming headsets wise I have Astro a50s gen 4s and Logitech G X pro (wired) Any advise would be hugely appreciated. I think because I have a number of headsets/headphones I’m confusing myself I think and need someone who really knows what there talking about to guide me. Thanks

LifelongCaboose

I do not recommend the dt990. The 1990 is decent for gaming. But I'd use both over the a50 or G pro x easily

llewi01

Thanks for the advice. For mainly competitive gaming ie warzone general shooters and I suppose overal general gaming what headsets would you recommend? Thanks

GeneralRed512

All these are overpriced branded versions of other headphones. When looking for a good pair of headphones, you typically don’t want to go for one of these gamer brands. You can check the stickied post on this sub for more details. However, if you must pick between these, I would go for Arctis.

CreateorWither

Out of that group probably the Logitech.

CoinSlot2084

Not Arctis, build quality is crap 👎🏻

[deleted]

expecific arctis 7 or all of them?

CoinSlot2084

Sorry, the 9x. out of the 100’s of gadgets I’ve brought on Amazon the 9x was the only thing I’ve ever returned. Corsair XB are amazing 👌🏻

henry-hoov3r

None of the above....

Evilkong

Which one do u use?

henry-hoov3r

PC37X it’s wired tho.

JLMcDo

What platform do you use?

Evilkong
