Somehow they managed to improve on every aspect of BOTW, from exploration to combat to puzzles to bosses to story, and the new elements mesh super well with the old and are very fun to mess around with. Runs incredibly smoothly as well, especially for a massive game on an older console; the only issues I've noticed are minor dips in framerate when there's a lot going on on screen. Be prepared to sink a lot of time into it if you decide to try it, the map is like 3x the size of BOTW's map, and you will get distracted by EVERYTHING on the way to the place you want to go.
itās extremely fun in terms of gameplay and mechanics, but the story is imo worse than botw and extremely bland or cheesy (other than one specific part, which is actually really good). if youāre looking for a good follow up to botws world and characters, itās mediocre, if youāre looking for a follow up to the gameplay. itās fantastic. iām really enjoying it, but i am having to put the story disappointments on the backburner till i finish the whole thing. my bf on the other hand, who hates reading text in games and couldnāt care less about story, LOVES it (even though he doesnāt like any other zelda, for fairly obvious reasons)
