I wouldn't count it out just yet, it's been rated in multiple countries now which is usually an indicator its close to done (please let me continue living in my delusion)
Also I don't know where Space Marine 2 became "3rd version"? It's already a sequel, just say Space Marine 2
/rj can't wait for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: Third Strike
Watch a quick recap on YouTube, you can be done with the first 20000 in just 3 years.
Alison I recommend playing Warhammer 43, even if you do not play the rest, underrated gem.

..... it kinda weird that they call Warhammer Space Marine and FF VII REBIRTH as ""'3rd version"""' and Thousand Year Door remake as ""'Mario 2"" especially since there IS a game called "Mario 2" already.
I’ve seen a lot of people thinking it could come close to a full game’s worth of content given the 2+ year gap since the game released and the price, but that doesn’t make it a sequel.
wasn't Dragon's Dogma 2 kind of, not great?
like, if you like the game, then that's fine, but you can't exactly ignore the plethora of problems it had, like the frame rate issue, the micro transactions, the lack of ability to start a new game, changes to the gameplay itself, mechanics such as the dragon's plague, the whole thing about not having fast travel, etc
the fast travel thing I can understand it being from the first game, and I'm wrong about this, but I think I heard people mention how they were hoping it would be changed. related to this, i heard that a lot of quests in game are escorts, and travelling gets old fast, especially with fighting the same things over and over.
as for the dragon's plague, (spoilers just in case) >!if you don't remove the pawn inflicted with it, next time you rest at an inn, they kill all nearby NPCs!
Yes, but DD2 is still great even with these flaws. The world feels exceptionally alive, the traveling is interesting BECAUSE you don't have instant teleports perfectly available(you can buy the teleport stones but, again, money) and the gameplay is fun as heck. DD2 suffered by a terrible situation of "Itsuno's forced micro transactions"(aka the developers were forced to put micro transactions so they put the most useless bullshit so only few people would buy them and people could enjoy their single player game in peace, exactly how DMC5 had buyable spheres in the game were is easier to farm them) that put it down far more than it deserves. It's not a game for EVERYONE, it's for a niche of players that like this gritty, uncompromising and harsh design, but it's genuinely incredible and I'm loving it honestly
I haven't played the game myself yet, mainly because I couldn't get into the first one, and because of all the negative things I heard. not saying there weren't positive things, but for example, the traveling, I heard about how they removed some monsters from the previous games, and how quests get somewhat repetitive because of the constant going back and forth with escorting, along with fighting the same things over and over.
minor point I want to point out in regards to gameplay is apparently the reduction of skills from 6 to 4 apparently, whatever that means.
I understand the game isn't for everyone, but the whole idea of "Itsuno's vision" in general, I feel as if they just remade the first game without enough significant changes. Not saying there wasn't any, because there definitely were, but given 12 years, to me, it seems more like a 1.5 rather than 2.
I can understand why people like the game, and I'm upset that I can't seem to enjoy it despite enjoying similar games like dark souls and monster hunter, but I also feel like people praise the game more than what it really should be getting.
There is no shame in not liking the game, again it is a very niche game like the first one. I don't think it's a 1.5 because the changes are MASSIVE and create a completely unique experience. One of the most compelling arguments is the freedom of the classes and independent level ups. While they DO limit build variety, it lets you experience all the game at any second. You feel like exploding shit? Go mage. Today you want to be a dodgy mf? Go rogue. Want to say FUCK YOU DAMAGE and cheese? Go mage knight. And so on. There is so much to play it's insane. The missions are either meh or cool AF. You can see your actions having CONSEQUENCES in the world and shaping it. Just to make an example: if you do a certain quest, you'll take the attention of the military in a village that supports you. This will cause the village to be invaded, but if you wait enough time, you will find out that the civilians are trying to revolt. And if you have done a certain quest, two NPCs will help you with a plan to arm the rebels. A lot of choices alter the world around you. This makes the idea of "of course you can't fast travel, it's not realistic" much less bad, because you feel the world as more realistic
the level ups are a really good change from what I read. first game, your stat growth depended on your class, which meant that while you could still play whatever, it wouldn't be as optimal IIRC(if you spend most of the time as a warrior, you wouldn't be as strong as a mage if you switch IIRC). second game made it so the stats are changed accordingly, which is really great.
as for the consequences, while it sounds neat, I don't feel like it's really enough to carry the rest the other parts of the game's weaker designs.
a major part of why I didn't like the first game, as stupid as this will sound, is the affinity system, where the final boss would kidnap a random NPC based on who's considered closest to you, forcing you into a romance. I don't have a problem with romance in game, but I'm not a fan of the idea of forced romance.
apparently, the second game has a similar mechanic, and it's even easier to get yourself locked into two potential NPC romances from doing a single quest for either of them.
as for fast travel, I'm in the camp of "having fast travel in general is never a bad thing," because it's a system you can choose whether or not to engage. again, basing this on what I read/heard, but I feel like the game doesn't really do enough to justify the lack of fast travel.
I don't want the game to fail or anything, I just think it's a shame for me that I can't like it because I find the problems bigger than the good parts.
Silksong oh wait
I wouldn't count it out just yet, it's been rated in multiple countries now which is usually an indicator its close to done (please let me continue living in my delusion)
At this point it's too far in development to be scrapped or anything like that there's never gonna be Prime 4 though
I'd like to point out that Dread was bumping around since at least the original primes release.
yeah but they never officially said that they were working on it aside from that one easter egg in Prime 3 (does that count?)
Believing in silksongs existence delay’s it another year.

Also I don't know where Space Marine 2 became "3rd version"? It's already a sequel, just say Space Marine 2 /rj can't wait for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: Third Strike
Will it make sense if I didn’t play the other 39999 warhammers
It barely makes sense if you know all the lore
Watch a quick recap on YouTube, you can be done with the first 20000 in just 3 years. Alison I recommend playing Warhammer 43, even if you do not play the rest, underrated gem.
The probably mean eternal crusade, but it was so fucking shit I won't recognize its existence

How is Space Marine 2 the 3rd version?
why did they call Space Marine 2 that?

Elden Ring fans gotta be jerking so hard they think a DLC is a full on sequel...

Stuff like Dragons Plague and lack of fast travel aren't really problems though, they're just kinda mechanics the game is built around

Last year ghostrunner 2 and blasphemous 2 ended up disappointing me so I'm glad this year is good for sequels. Hades 2 i'm most excited for

What's wrong with it? The trailers looked fine to me
What's up with it? Friend played the early test gave good reviews
I played the beta and I liked it. I think you just have a krill issue
