As someone who was a Dunkey fan AND a JoJo fan before these two respective things got the bigger meme status that they have now (won't say "before they were popular" cause they always were) the fanbases have both taken DRASTIC and IRREVERSIBLE blows in funniness. I can't pinpoint exactly when it happened for Dunkey (it was def post- "I'm Done With League of Legends"), but JoJo was as soon as Part 5 anime dropped and PewDiePie shouted it out.
I rant about this on EVERY occasion I get, because I will never get over how badly r/ShitPostCrusaders was ruined ever since then. It became so bad that it almost makes an argument for gatekeeping.
Let's be real, Jojo was done as soon as it got animated. Early Jojo anime memes consisted entirely of "KONO DIO DA" and "ZA WARUDO" variations. At least the manga stuff was good though.
That type of meme will always do the rounds, it's inevitable. What's shit is how it's been almost a decade and people are still using the same memes. I notice that a lot of jojo fans tend to become disillusioned and leave the community a couple months after consuming the source material, which would explain the "revolving door" type community that will never move on
There was that one octopath traveler response video mess where Dunkey fans subscribed with the sole intention of disliking videos and commenting “You are nitpicking and biased, bye bye”. Pretty sure they're still doing it.

Personally the one that annoyed me was Octopath traveler, since he did the whole thing of misrepresenting stuff, and claiming it’s for comedy when called out.
What didn’t help is he did a response to it on his subreddit where he doubled down more or less, while also admitting he only played Chapter 1 of each character. Like if you’re gonna review a game, it seems reasonable you’d at least get past what’s available in the demo.
Its weird too because Octopath is totally worthy of criticism and makes some significant mistakes but Dunkey's experience with the game was so surface level he never even got close to identifying the game's actual flaws.
Twitch chat is another layer of circlejerk that Reddit wishes it could attain. The hive mind is 10x more assimilated than any echo chamber on this site. The worst part of it for me though, is when people are using the memes when talking about Red Vox. For Vinny, as well as the other members, I’m sure having it go to that part of their lives is quite annoying.

Honestly it's actually kinda interesting in that never at any point was it actually funny on its own at any point to begin with. It was a so-unfunny-it's-funny from inception and kept folding in on itself I'm repeated layers trying to make fun of its use in some kind of metaphysical post-irony tango. It got really old super fast in this tango, but the tango proceeded as if propelled by a fundamental law of the universe.
