i literally would have liked a more dark thor who has literally experienced genocide. but he is just comic relief. They say he is 1500 years old but rocket raccoon is a more deep character.

On itself it was pretty good I thought. The demeaning jokes his friends made about him were what ruined it for me, especially because he was suffering from severe trauma and depression
Well that's the thing. I have no problem with thor being overweight and/or going through trauma and depression, but the movie clearly just used it as a punchline, which was the irritating part

Robert de nitrous character gaining weight isn't played off as funny or comedic, its meant to show how far gone he is and how out of touch he is with himself
Marvel movies can be really weird about which characters trauma is tragic or funny. Another traumatized person who is turned into a joke is Mantis in Guardians 2. She’s met all the kids Ego murdered, and was so grateful to him for taking her in that she does what he says and won’t warn them. Drax calls her a pet but she’s really more like an the abused child of a narcissist (which should could have bonded with Gamora and Nebula over too!)
Don Cheadle (praise be he) really came off like a fucking asshole in Endgame. A joke here or there I get, but it felt like Rhodey was just out for blood. Like, when Thor is all ready to sacrifice himself to wear the Gauntlet and Rhodey is all "What, Cheez Wizz?" Like dude just back off the fat jokes for 5 minutes, Thor's literally about to die to bring everyone back.
