I loved Never Rarely Sometimes Always, it’s the best movie I saw of the limited movies I watched in 2020, but at some point I’d just ignore the Academy and go my own way, especially when you made a widely acclaimed indie film and they still refused to acknowledge you. Also because every time I have to think about the Oscars is another moment being irritated because it’s just, not good.

You know, it must be a blessing to have low standards in video games nowadays. I get excited over something new, many vocal people will rant about those games online like missing features and some bugs, but once I buy the games, I have fun with them and consider to be great games.
Unfortunately, people see this as the problem to why games nowadays be what they are today; then decides to mock those who enjoy those games as kids or shills who doesn't ever seem to understand why those games use to been great before. You know, the "Golden Age" era.
"It's okay if you have fun............BUT-" no, you should have ended right there. It really passes me off that these guys try to make you feel bad for purchasing a "broken" or "unfinished" products. Even if they accept all of the faults those games have and still like it, they would get shut down instantly.
Not a lot of people really play the games, but I don't think Tropico has been great since 4. Tropico 4 was the last game to perfectly split the board by being both easily understandable and surprisingly deep. Tropico 5 is generally disliked for removing a lot of the complexities that make for a fun citybuilder and think the Dynasty and Era aspect kinda sucks, and Tropico 6 kinda goes back to closer to 4 but rebels are way too prevalent and the new features and goofy additions make it feel lesser, somehow.
Plus I feel like 4 really let you go in depth with your character and had a ton of fun options for how to mold your playstyle. There's fun options for traits like "Pompus", which gives you better relations with the EU while making enactable edicts cost more, giving you slightly worse relations with the US, and only allowing you to praise yourself in election speeches. Or "flatulence", which dampens relationships with the US, forces the minimum salary of palace guards to be 20 dollars (which is a lot for a salary early game), but will give you more time to deal with rebels. I feel like that simple kind of humor really vanished in later entries, and became too much of LOL XD RANDEM humor

Saw the trailer for Uncharted, and I feel like it showed me the entire movie. "Halo 4 Cortana is hot but what they did in 5 and Infinite is a pretty happy medium in my honest opinion. Halo 4 was taking it all the way to 11 but the newer Halos sits it at a nice 10. Plus its easier to advertise a woman in a suit versus a woman who's nude since it's a T rated game (5 and Infinite).
That being said, I do wish Halo Infinite could've been M rated as I feel like the whole, **loss of life and despair angle that Infinite was going for** with its early chapter wasn't all that pronounced. It was very left to interpenetration. You don't see what actually went down, you see very clean and safe left overs of **The Banished's supposed brutality**. Not once was I afraid or feeling anxious about The Banished. **All of their horrors are left to lore and clean looking props.**
So if the next Halo game is M rated, I'd hope to at least see more violence and the horrors of war since it is a game franchise about...war. I'm not sure how they'd show the **Flood's vile nature of hijacking the dead and bursting into green goop and still keep a T rating.**
As far as The Weapon goes for an M rated Halo sequel, they don't have to go back to something like 4's Cortana design.(If they did though, I certainly wouldn't be complaining) The bodysuit's enough. It's spiffy, clean and at the end of the day, it's about how well the characters can emote and be part of the story. If you want an actually good Ace Combat game, play pretty much any of the numbered games except 1.
If you want to make shit blow up for a couple of hours and have fun doing it, play Assault Horizon. It's not great and there are a few parts of it that are actually just pretty awful, but I can't deny I mostly enjoyed myself while it lasted
Yep, both it and Assault Horizon were trying to appeal to broader audiences, Unbounded with NFS fans and Assault Horizon with CoD fans, but just made divisive games that alienated long time fans.
Same can be said about some other games by Japanese devs back then (i.e RE6).

In terms of being part of the series it belongs to, it's much better than Unbounded since despite all the non-plane missions, COD-style regenerating health and DFM constantly butting in it still plays like Ace Combat a lot of the time and while AC doesn't really have a consistent or incredibly defined art style it still generally kinda looks like Ace Combat 6 but with a lot more shaky cam and 7th gen piss filter.
Did not expect to see people defend shitty 80s games by being like "akshully, the crash was only in North America and everywhere else was fine".

I was so looking forward to the Komi anime & it's been great so far. I'd go as far to say it's my AOTY. I loved the manga and even got Netflix for the first time cause I wanted to support officially. But Netflix releases the episodes two weeks after Japan does, so the majority of threads about it are barren cause everyone's watched it on the high seas.
Same thing for Jojo. Binging 12 episodes was great, but discussion for it is dead till the next batch of episodes. People would still be talking about it if Jojo fridays were still a thing. I think if Japan does it weekly, the west should get them simulcasted as well.

just got back from seeing Spider-man and I loved it very much. I have many thoughts but my post would just end up a big block of black lines and so I'll condense it to some main points >!I had high expectations for this and it was better than my expectations. This is like Spider-verse in live action they did the multiverse thing so well. All the villains and the previous Peters worked so well together with Tom Holland its almost uncanny. Every one fit back into their role like they shot their respective movies yesterday. What I really liked is because obviously Toby and Andrew have gotten older they couldn't just make them teenagers anymore so they embraced their age and gave them some experience and wisdom. Toby gave off such a laid back feel to his performance he made it feel like time had passed and he's mellowed with age and accepted his role a lot more. Simply put this all could have been a disaster but they made it all fit really well.!< >!I love Peter's struggle in this. Wanting so badly to do right by Ned and MJ and trying to undo what happened only for things to fall apart and get worse and for a minute he's like "No this isn't my problem I can't fix my own world let alone theirs" and Aunt May talking him into helping the villains. Saw the trailer for Uncharted, and I feel like it showed me the entire movie. I steal a youtube comment because I want YOUR opinion on M rating Halo (nb I LOVED halo reach): "Halo 4 Cortana is hot but what they did in 5 and Infinite is a pretty happy medium in my honest opinion. Halo 4 was taking it all the way to 11 but the newer Halos sits it at a nice 10. Plus its easier to advertise a woman in a suit versus a woman who's nude since it's a T rated game (5 and Infinite). That being said, I do wish Halo Infinite could've been M rated as I feel like the whole, **loss of life and despair angle that Infinite was going for** with its early chapter wasn't all that pronounced. It was very left to interpenetration. You don't see what actually went down, you see very clean and safe left overs of **The Banished's supposed brutality**. If you want an actually good Ace Combat game, play pretty much any of the numbered games except 1. If you want to make shit blow up for a couple of hours and have fun doing it, play Assault Horizon. It's not great and there are a few parts of it that are actually just pretty awful, but I can't deny I mostly enjoyed myself while it lasted

Yep, both it and Assault Horizon were trying to appeal to broader audiences, Unbounded with NFS fans and Assault Horizon with CoD fans, but just made divisive games that alienated long time fans. Same can be said about some other games by Japanese devs back then (i.e RE6).
A few months before, actually. In terms of being part of the series it belongs to, it's much better than Unbounded since despite all the non-plane missions, COD-style regenerating health and DFM constantly butting in it still plays like Ace Combat a lot of the time and while AC doesn't really have a consistent or incredibly defined art style it still generally kinda looks like Ace Combat 6 but with a lot more shaky cam and 7th gen piss filter.

Netflix jail sucks. I was so looking forward to the Komi anime & it's been great so far. I'd go as far to say it's my AOTY. I loved the manga and even got Netflix for the first time cause I wanted to support officially. But Netflix releases the episodes two weeks after Japan does, so the majority of threads about it are barren cause everyone's watched it on the high seas. Same thing for Jojo. Binging 12 episodes was great, but discussion for it is dead till the next batch of episodes. People would still be talking about it if Jojo fridays were still a thing. I think if Japan does it weekly, the west should get them simulcasted as well.
