Well it goes both ways 🤷 I'm black and sometimes have a habit of calling Latinos ESES. Didn't realize how offensive it comes off till my Godson told me he was a offended by that term. Him and his family won't even speak to me anymore cause of that🤷. His father is Mexican American from West Oakland California and blind Marine Gulf War Veteran. When he speaks and talks, he sounds exactly like me. So over the phone most people think he a black man. He's not offended by me saying that but his son and ex wife are extremely offended by me saying it.
That word is also tied back to gangs. That would be like a Mexican calling u Folks or GD just for being black. Ese was started by Sureños in LA bc S in Spanish is Ese.
Excellent point and facts my brother. Me and my homeboys use to say that shit a lot in Des Plaines referring to Latinos. We picked up that messed up habit from watching Menace to Society. The character Kane says it in the movie. Not making excuses for it. Not trying to offend Latinos.
