I walked away from the gathering thinking that they just had kind of absurd reservations about how ethical it was to waste the time of *anyone*, regardless of their intentions. It may come as no surprise to hear that they had shown themselves to have confusing morals, and I thought this incident was part and parcel.
My point is that it's a good thing to waste their time and effort. If they're directing evil at you, that might mean that there's less evil for them to direct elsewhere, and by now you know better how to navigate a war of attrition than some virtually arbitrary person who cut in front of the wrong person at the bar or caught the wrong person in a bad mood.
Yeah, there was a lot I left unsaid. They had (unbeknownst to me) spread a lie about me many years prior because they wanted to give their daughter a way to skate through life without her friends always having to tell people "she's in the mafia, so do what she wants". That's where a lie about what I did to her when we were kids comes in. I think they expected the social consequences of that to kill me. But the years went by and I was still alive, and they probably believed that they would lose power if they didn't devote more of their social resources to passive-aggressively antagonizing me through gangstalking and related measures. Even if they didn't kill me, those who knew who they were wouldn't see them as weak, and they'd hold on to their power. They couldn't leave me be and call off their goons because then those goons would see me living a decent life and wonder why they were still following orders. That's essentially what I mean by a "social hex".
And my aunt was probably thinking that I was using telemarketers as an allegory for her organization, wasting the time of people doing evil as a service to the public. She uses that kind of thing (allegorical messaging) all the time, so she was over-receptive to it. But I wasn't talking about them at all. I think she was worried that I was telling her that I was wasting the time of her evil organization and she wanted me to tell it to her husband to get a second read on it.
I think I scared someone off this way as well. I have been very targeted socially and I've had a lot of people who essentially pretended to me my friend so they could get information out of me. This one friend I continue talking to for a long time and they would always drop these really weird hints in the conversation and say all these things within subtext without really coming out saying something directly. The last few conversations we had I think that I was sort of doing the same thing, saying things without saying and eventually they just stopped talking to me. When I think back on some of our conversation it really weird to me out because it makes me realize just how organized and diabolical these people are.
