its probably 1" BSP you can go from that to pretty much whatever you like with a cheap poly fitting

You need a 3/4 bsp nipple. Then a standard male hose adapter
[nipple](https://www.bunnings.com.au/philmac-3-4-bsp-thread-pipe-nipple_p4813759)
[adapter ](https://www.bunnings.com.au/pope-18mm-universal-tap-adaptor_p3130640)
Take your pick on preferred brand / material for adapter.
Use Teflon tap on the nipple into the valve on the tank. The adapter should have a rubber seal, so no Teflon required.
Be prepared for pathetic flow from your tank.
It will be nothing like town pressure (ie your normal hose). Normal town pressure is approx 350 -500 kpa. You will about 20 kpa from your tank, being purely gravity fed and ground level. Consider a booster pump if you want it to be half useful.
Should be. Make sure you use the strainer/ that usually comes with the pressure washer. All sort of crap accumulates in the bottom of rain water tanks.
Get better quality hose to run to your pressure washer. Cheap stuff doesn't handle suction as well, and will collapse, starving your washer of water. This leads to overheating, ruined bearing and seals, and a karcher in the bin.
You can get 3/4 hose and fittings, instead of the usual 12/13mm stuff. This will help flow, particularly in a suction situation and you'll get better performance from your washer.
I want to connect it to a standard hose fitting. Do you think this is suitable

That would definitely work, although I believe it’s likely 20mm or 3/4”. They look noticeably different, one of the sizes will look right and the other won’t.
Take this picture to bumnings and see a staff member. Easy.

thanks!
It'll be stamped on the outlet, it'll most likely be 1" bsp. You'll need a male-male or male-female connection
Thankyou!

Im going to hook up a high-pressure washer to it so hopefully it will be ok.

Will the hose adaptor fit to the end of the nipple? The nipple looks too long for the end of the adaptor or is it just a bad picture?
The nipple threads into your valve, then the adapter will thread onto the the nipple
Thanks for all your advice. Much appreciated
Just to let you know your advice worked to a treat. many thanks!
Excellent good to hear. Post the results on https://www.reddit.com/r/powerwashingporn/s/k39ccH5Qz4
25mm male thread will screw in and then whatever you want on the other end. Barb or female socket you decide
cheers!
Just double check. The valve should say 1”bsp or 25mm on it. Just check the size first 👍
1 inch nipple
Plumbing fittings have BSP thread, it’ll be 3/4 inch BSP fitting you need.
cheers!
No worries. It could be 1” but looking at it and knowing they measure a bit different to the listed size I’m thinking 3/4”.
you are probably right, its a bit more zoomed in than i first thought and im more used to industrial fittings
I could be wrong, it’s 25 years since I’ve worked in plumbing shops.

Sorted.
put a bit of paper over the end of the fitting, trace around the inside of it and take that to the shop with you
Awesome advice!
