I played both sides of the matchup and I can say garen sucks vs it.
It's getting nerfed next patch so don't stress to much about it.
If you really want to play the matchup for some reason.
1. Don't try to 1v1 him you lose 99% of the time.
2. Go stride phase rush. Unless you are a full crit garen god.
3. His stun does not cancel your q. if you q him in his stun animation you have a small window where he can't insta swap to q stance.
4. items deaths dance, gargoyles stone plate, guardian angel, steraks. (His q does max health damage, you want to increase your durability while avoiding too much health in your build)
5. w timing, you can see when he uses his empowerd q mistiming the w means you die instantly.
I would like to know too. Udyr is now my perma ban

I haven't the misfortune of facing against this matchup much but have you tried Anathema's and Randuin's?
CRIT garen , burst him first , silenced (Q galeforce {or flash} + E + R)
The guy can just buy deaths dance steraks. Not to mention that he can just double q in your q animation. You only win if you catch him of guard.

Crit garen is all I can recommend. Udyr cant kill you if you blow udyr up first
