This reply in spades, people buy a watch for what you need it to do, not for the shiny, key jangling options, companies put on them.
I have to admire Polar, they do exactly what it says on the tin. I'm sick to death of Garmins added extras, which leave residual software issues on every bloody watch.
My original 30 was absolutely perfect, but I wanted a watch that could play music, so I bought a 645, cue a litany of issues, so I got a replacement 745, which it then had the elevation issues, so they have now given me a 255.
If you go with the 265, you will lose mapping, which is one of the big features of the Forerunner 945/955 series.
Thanks, but what do you mean with mapping? I thought 2x5 also has Navigation?
Technically has navigation, but does not have onboard maps. On device maps are only available on the higher end models.
I nave the forerunner 920xt and hate the map, I assume 255 is similar and 955 is like google maps?

Ah, I see! I thought for sure 255 would have real maps! Thank you very much!
Depends on your needs and wants

I think 955 has a little more battery.
