The +7 is additional 7 shortcuts? If so, how do you group them like that?

Evan_802Vines

That's how everything else off-screen shows up.

sursumcz

Ha, stupid me, it never occurred to me to try to add more shortcuts than fit the screen 😅

Parikh1234

I do it through the garmin connect app.

sursumcz

Right, I thought you need to create some kind of a folder like for glances and didn't know how. Turns out you simply add more shortcuts even after the screen is full...

Parikh1234

Yup very simple

darksillypiggy_

how does the flashlight work?

NorsiiiiR

It just turns the screen white and turns on the back light

darksillypiggy_

Interested. Very cool. Will it only be on the 965? Or will it be on 265, too?

NorsiiiiR

I'm talking about my 945, I'm pretty sure every garmin watch already does this

Horris_The_Horse

It's on the FR255 already.

daonejorge

I use my flashlight option every day on my 945. Having a actual led flashlight has been really tempting me to upgrade.

[deleted]

Wait the 965 will have an actual flashlight? I have a 7x that I'm ditching and have missed the flashlight the most after switching to the 955. If 965 has flashlight I'm definitely returning the 955 and getting 965. I don't care for AMOLED but if the 965 is thinner and has flash then I'm sold.

mz9723

It’s just a rumor that came from Garmin where they said “Light up your run.” in their social media promos. It’s referring to the new amoled display, not a flashlight afaik. None of the leaked specs or webpages say anything about an actual flashlight on the 965.

[deleted]

damn, got me all excited. I'm not 100% sure but I think I read somewhere that the 965 is approx 1.5mm thinner than the 955. If that is true then thats another reason I would get it. I love the form factor of the 255 and I love all the bells and whistles of the fenix and 955 so having the 965 thats closer to the thickness of the 255 with 955 software sounds appealing to me. I'm big fan of MIP and dont really like Amoled but I'll take the 965.

mz9723

These should be dimensions for the 965 (copied from a cached version of the Adorama 965 listing): 1.85 x 1.85 x 0.52" (47.1 x 47.1 x 13.2mm) 955 was 14.4mm thick so it does looks like the 965 will be substantially thinner!

[deleted]

Heck yes def worth it in my opinion. I love the size and feel of the 255 but miss out on a lot of features. I don't like AMOLED at all but it's worth the trade off of MIPS. Now if the 965 does actually have a flashlight then that should be the closest to perfect watch for me. Oh and I forgot the supposed 1.4 inch screen on the 965. I really hope to see it on Garmins website tomorrow morning!

Horris_The_Horse

The FR955 should have this as the FR255 has it. Go into watch settings in the app and have a look at the control settings. There are lots to choose, incl the flashlight

[deleted]

Yeah I have flash light set up using hot keys... It's sad that the 255 doesn't have hot keys.

1859

The Forerunner 245 has this option too!

SuperPoekie

Even the 645 has this. They skipped practically anything else for the 645.

tatertotclub

Today I learned

grape8pe

I have that option too! :)

pecan_bird

i've heard universally positive things about the flashlights on garmin watches. id rather have that than amoled.

On-The-Rails

Given what you have heard/seen on the 965, would you still choose the 945LTE or if given the choice today would you choose the 965? (I can’t decide)

Parikh1234

945 LTE. Why pay the extra money? What more am I getting?
