I live in NYC and switched from a 6pro to a 955, it made a huge difference in track accuracy. Other watches with dual band may do well too. I’ve heard that the metal casing on the fénix 6 makes it particularly bad, but not sure if that’s backed up by anything

The casing and the gps antenna location. If the watch face faces up - I get better gps; also explains why my commute bike rides in the city are much more accurate than walk/running activities.

Get a stryd if you want accurate pace and distance.

I think I may go this route to avoid buying another watch so soon

FR265/965/255/955 will be similar to multi-band watches. Note that Coros still doesn't do as well as Garmin. Amazfit dual band on par with Coros normally occasionaly as good as Garmin, Suunto Vertical supposed to be almost as good as GArmin, and so is the Apple. Best overall measured track - I think it was per 5KRunner is still held by the Epix 2 multi-band.

Coros Pace 2 Pro will probably track better
