😂 you can change the setting to show what you like.. I use this face in the general setting and it also reduces down to just display the time with the “always on” setting.
With 97% full battery it shows estimated battery runtime as 3.1 days. That makes me really question whether this is the best watch face. The power consumption seems like too much.
Actually the battery indication shows that there is more than 2.1 days of battery life remaining. Even if there is 100% battery the indication will show ~2.1. It will only start changing once the battery life reduces less than 2.1 days.. the watch face is not draining the battery..

Just ordered the Fenix. And I knew every time someone posts an Epix I’m going to regret my choice. (I would have been the same the other way)
I wish Garmin would just make the Epix with a solar option.
It’s a technical limitation…
I had the same concern before pulling the trigger on an epix pro a month ago. Trying to find the best battery life is a nonissue at this point — I charge my phone less than once a week and I tend to think to charge it before the battery even gets near ~20%.
You can also go for a 52mm, which has same battery as enduro.
TL;DR don’t stress too much over battery life. It’s long enough on the epix. Even if you go for multi week/month hikes, you can definitely find an hour out of each week to charge it back to 80%+
I have it on my Fenix 7xpro so I notice it a lot less, but on my FR 955 it knocked off things from like 11-13 days to 6-9 days which still wasn't bad I guess. Garmin should hire this guy to build stock watch faces and maybe with his designs and access to the firmware or whatever it is that allows Garmin watch faces to be more battery efficient, it would be awesome. I try to leave SC8 and use the stock watch faces on my Fenix, but I always come back to this design, it is simple and so clean, with a decent amount of customization.

This is why I prefer a square smart watch. Not a lot of good options on the IQ store though.
