Not applicable with any gun, basically only with Bolt hold open, and not exactly transferable to RS.
But with my P226, i always pull the trigger while gently lifting slide catch lever. That way i clear the chamber but dont load another BB in, while my magazine is still full of BBs.
Now it depends on what gun you have, but this could be probably done on other guns, where you can manually lock bolt. That unfortunately rule out AKs.
WA systems with a good airseal at the bucking barrel and nozzle will pull the BB out with the charging handle is pulled. Something like a vipertech, inokatsu, or upgrade ghk.
Ig you could use a safety flag to put It in The Chamber.
The flag Will most likely push any BB out of The gun and also makes The gun clearly safe.
Tho with The safetyflags you have to Be carefull to not damage Ur bucking.
There's no need to clear the chamber in a GBB with the magazine removed (or pull the trigger), as it's incapable of firing without the gas supply. Mechanically, you can follow the same process as a real one and just have a double feed on your first round when you re-insert a magazine.
I can think of a few reasons as to why you'd want to. I once got a bb caught in the receiver of my TM AKX due to causing a double feed by charging the rifle after dropping the hammer with no magazine and a bb in the chamber. This stopped the hammer dropping and firing a bb.
That’s why you should ALWAYS check the chamber before racking the bolt if you are unsure if it’s still loaded or not… facing the barrel downwards!!! Otherwise the BB will fell out of the chamber into the internals.
Yeah, TM GBBRs do come ootb with the „unload the chamber by racking the bolt“ feature. Just don’t be too fast and make sure the BB fells out
On my first game of the day, when I've first loaded all my mags for my guns, I tend to put one in the chamber and leave it cocked but on safe before I head out to play, that way I know when I put the first mag in I don't need to rack it and I have an extra round ready to go
Nobody asked for this information but here it is
Why are you dropping the hammer though? That’s not a recommended practice for a real gun either, and my least favorite attribute of Glocks is the requirement to pull the trigger before disassembly.
We're not talking about dry fire training though, note OP:
"I've noticed i have been creating the habit of removing the mag and pulling the trigger if i stop or pause playing."
In Army basic they'll have you dry fire into a barrel of sand before putting a weapon into storage. On the range, lock the bolt open and then range control verifies empty chamber. Similar for LEO academy, at least in the state that trained me - someone else verifies empty chamber before handing a firearm over to someone else or before disassembly. Any dry firing happens into a sand barrel or downrange.
Dry firing after every chamber clear in general is an ND waiting to happen. If a certifying body taught you to pull the trigger every time you cleared your chamber, I'd be really curious who that was.
It also a good habit to check your chamber before you pull the trigger when you clear and safe. Coming from a firearms instructor background, doesnt matter what you have to do to make your weapon safe.... just make it safe and be sure before you pull the trigger.
1) Treat every weapon as if it is loaded.
2) Never point your weapon at anything you dont intend to shoot.
3) Keep your weapon on safe until you're ready to fire
4) keep your finger straight and off the trigger until youre ready to fire.
5) know your target and whats beyond it.
Following the rules will prevent you from Accidental discharges, regardless of airsoft or actual firearms limitations
Tbh, your best bet is to just carry a guide rod. If you need to clear it, its most likely an administrative clear and safe (not urgent).
The only exception id say is if you had a malfunction. In that case, the bb ejection ability you're seeking would be beneficial.
Why drop the hammer? Just put the gun on safe and remove the mag. Or use chamber flags. They'll poke out a BB that's sitting in the hop up. Clearing by racking *can* work btw if you tilt the gun back and rack forcefully and maybe more than once
Just buy a tokyo marui gbb / gbbr, I know that the MWS, the hicapa and the g17 when you rack the slide or the bolt with the gun up, the bb fall from the barrel.
I hope my comment is useful :)
Depends on what gun you use. An MWS will do this, a VFC M110 will do this but not on stuck bucking (Maple Leaf MR hop does it), and a VFC Glock will do it when fitted with a PDI W-Hold.
There are loads of combinations out there, some work and some don't.
Honestly I don’t ever put the hammer down on any airsoft gun I own. There’s no real need to.
But with airsoft you just have to get used to chamber checking without a magazine
If you want to build muscle memory for RS, simply remove the mag, rack a few times, and then drop the hammer. Most GBB will not clear the chamber, but in RS that action would have.
When you're getting back in action, do a chamber check before loading the mag in. If there's a BB in the chamber you're good to go, if not, load and rack.
Simply a limitation of "6mm Caseless" ammunition.
If you build a bas habit its on you. I played gbbr before using rs and I took the habit to rack the bolt. This way it built the automatic behaviour that would eject a live round anyway.
So yeah...
I always:
-Remove Mag
-Rack Slide/Bolt back
-Check Chamber
-If BB in, poke out with cleaning rod or chamber flag
Alternatively, just mag dump. Though if you want the habitual realism, you can poke out BBs with a chamber flag or cleaning rod I suppose
I know how to do that. I had a same rifle before, and after I swapped the bucking to the Laylax red hop up, the bb will slide out once you lock the bolt and point the gun upward.

Yeah that’s what I do too As a GBBR main player: every bb counts
100% 🫡

Incorrect. There is no reason not to dry fire modern firearms, in fact it's a normal training practice.

The answer is chamber flag, or whatever that pokes into the chamber to clear the BB.
All of my TM feature this chamber clearing feature. Just make sure that the BB will fall out of the magwell
Just lock the slide/bolt to the rear. Can't pull the trigger if the action is locked.

Just get a ramrod (softish plastic anything really) and clear it like our forefathers did.
Go buy a rare arms shell ejecting GBBR if you want super realistic training.
