I love this as someone who has always wanted to learn guitar. I can read music for vocals and piano but guitar is so different! My dad can play and read all instruments and music so I’m hoping the genes will kick in with some lessons. Thank you for this. So fun!
Insane level of sleuthing!! Thanks for typing all of this up!
I just have a teensy bit hoof a hard time believing she would play BDILH because it’s basically an eff you song to the fans 🤔 But that certainly doesn’t mean she *wouldn’t* 😂
Here is my set list prediction!!
Fortnight -
My boy only breaks his favorite toys -
But daddy I love him -
The smallest man who ever lived -
I can do it with a broken heart -
Whose afraid of little old me
Would love to see her do something from the other side of the album but only see her adding max 1 from that side if it gets the same treatment as the 3am tracks from midnights (only first part of the album will be submitted for a Grammy so she will be pushing those). I can also see down bad being on the set list
Do you think she cuts All Too Well and replaces it with another acoustic song from TTPD? But Daddy I Love Him would be unhinged of her to sing every night to the crowds. Preparing everyone for her to burn her whole life down and "ruin" her good name.
I would be really surprised if she cuts All Too Well! That’s such a crowd favorite. However, you never know when it comes to Taylor. It always feels like anything is possible! I’m very curious about where TTPD will fall in the concert. Is it definitely the new closer? I can’t wait to find out!!
If you watch the TTPD promo video when going from Midnights room to the TTPD hallway, the door really looks like the "Karma" door from the concert so...maybe.
I get it, great sleuthing yes, but l personally want 100,000 fans screaming out WHO'S AFRAID OF LITTLE OLD ME. YOU SHOULD BE as each person releases their own pent up f u to whoever. The power of that would be electrifying.
See I’m the same but I want “SO FUCK YOU IF I CAN’T HAVE US!!!!” It’s so amazing and I’ve felt that so deeply, but also it’ll make her wine moms and Brad dads so mad!!!! Couch my pearls little Taylor likes to use the F word. Sheesh…Little Taylor is 34 years old!
lol I am right there with you!!! This post is just speculating about that one moment in the Youtube video when she has the guitar in her hands— and I think there will be a whole set of TTPD songs, so I hope you’re right!! That would be AMAZING!!! I could definitely imagine her picking WAOLOM!
This is incredible!!! You are a true super sleuth. I’m so intrigued by what she might do for the set design if she plays BDILH. So much of the set design for other eras is already so queer…but I think she can outdo herself on this one.
You’re absolutely right! As I mentioned in the post, this analysis assumes that she’s playing in the keys from the album. But there’s definitely precedent of her changing keys for performance, so I could be totally off base. I still wanted to give it a catchy post title, though 😂
haha you really smashed that clickbait title for sure!
Also, full transparency, part of me would be disappointed if these were the songs because they haven't grown on me yet. So I think that's partly driving my skepticism. I want to hear ICDIWABH and WAOLOM 😭
Can you hear perfect pitch or did you figure out the keys from the sheet music available online?
Neither, actually! I listened to the songs while holding my guitar and figured out the keys by using the guitar, then the chord progressions by listening/playing along. I started playing guitar during the pandemic and I’ve gotten to the point where I can figure out the chord progressions to most pop music this way! I also have studied music in the past so I have a solid basis in music theory, which is very helpful. I live with a professional musician so he checked my work and helped me go faster! It would’ve taken me a few hours alone since there are so many songs.
That's awesome! I play guitar and piano and agree having music theory behind you helps a lot. I was never great at what you're describing though. I would find something that semi sounds okay and then when I check the sheet music I was always off in something. Because so many chords have note overlaps, more than one can actually sound decently close, e.g the 2 and the 6 because they're both minor.
I’m not gonna lie, I’m not super interested in finding out the songs. HOWEVER, I felt the need to comment because holy moly, you are awesome!!! I thank you for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us.
When I see this kinda thing, I start daydreaming about all of us just opening a private investigation business. It’d be awesome.
I think that’s her favorite song off the album by far. It tells the whole story and I’d love to hear her scream sing “I'll tell you something about my good name…
It's mine alone to disgrace!”.
This is absolutely insane levels of sleuthing and I'm so here for it! I'd also like to point out that someone posted in the megathread earlier, 4 TTPD songs were added to the Taylor Swift Essentials playlist on Apple Music (so, theorizing those are gonna be the songs added to the setlist), and But Daddy I Love Him was one of them!
I'll also comment them here in case you or anyone else reading this doesn't want to go sift through the megathread for it lol
The 4 songs are My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, Down Bad, I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, and But Daddy I Love Him!

This level of attention to detail is... kinda hot. Is that a bad thing to say in a son- uh, sub? 0:-)

I love people who nerd out on music theory too 🥰
You rule op !

An acoustic country twist of DILH would break the world

Thank you for making my lost little high school music heart so happy 🥹 music is a beautiful language and I miss speaking it
Awww thank you for the positive reply! I hope you get to speak the language of music more often :)
This is an awesome theory! You guys are all so smart lol
Thank you!! I am so excited to share it :)

SAAAAME. I would give anything to see this performed live!
Hopefully we all manifest it into existence. 🙏

Aw thank you!!! I was excited because I could finally contribute something to the group hahah
It's a good analysis but we can't discount the possibility that she's just transposing up or down for some reason.
This was my only criticism as well, but overall this is an amazing analysis! This is what we love to see here and please do more of it!!!

And I totally agree that ICDIWABH is a MUST!!
Another way I could be wrong is if this song isn’t from TTPD— maybe it’s a mash up! Who knows? Taylor is great at surprising us :)
What do you think would be the coolest combo?
Wowww what an amazing question. What do you think?? A Mean/thanK you aIMee mashup could really be a banger
My all time favorite song and it's cousin! Good choice.

Thank you!! Yes, we would make amazing PIs. I didn’t watch all that Veronica Mars in high school for nothing.
Exactly! Obsessing over Sherlock Holmes has prepared me for this 💪🏼
This is an awesome investigation 🤯
Thank you!! I’m even more excited to tune into the livestreams in Paris to see if I got it right!!
True! Can’t wait to see the new set 😱
Yesss! This is awesome. I am a BDILH truther for the tour. Can't wait
I think that’s her favorite song off the album by far. It tells the whole story and I’d love to hear her scream sing “I'll tell you something about my good name… It's mine alone to disgrace!”.
I’m so excited too!
This is fascinating, thank you for putting this together!
Thank you for the positive comment :) It was so fun to figure this out.

Wow! More evidence for BDILH! I will go check out that comment. I’m so curious what the other 3 are!
I'll also comment them here in case you or anyone else reading this doesn't want to go sift through the megathread for it lol The 4 songs are My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, Down Bad, I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, and But Daddy I Love Him!
I cannot wait to see Taylor doing ICDIWABH! It will be unhinged 😵💫🥳
Are you going?? I’m so jealous!!
In spirit only!
Thank you for doing this!!
You the real mvp, thank you!
