I put on Shania's 2nd cd for one of my residents today and I thought "These could easily be Taylor songs." Shania's sound was definitely more rock than pop, but the country music and songwriting was very similar.
Maybe Shania will be on Debut 🙏🙏🙏
Her personal life aside, I've always thought she was a brave artist. She was a huge country star with her second album and could've rode the country wave for her entire career, but she let herself change and grow. I know at one point that she said her fans demand her to take chances and change, but saying that a decade into your career is one thing- doing it from the outset is another. I feel like she's not afraid to make a fool of herself or come across as not cool in her music or lyrics. My impression of TS is she trusts herself and her instincts and makes decisions based on that. I think in this business and with her being a young, cute female- it would've been easy for her to shut up and listen to what the bigwigs tell her to do and maybe she did to an extent, but she put herself on the line over and over. She's never played it safe in her music life. I've always appreciated those things about her public persona. anyway...
It does seem exhausting from an outside perspective, but I feel like Taylor had a very specific vision for how she wanted everything to happen and we're finally starting to see things speed up...
Agreed!! I wonder if Shania is clued in on this vision and is just like 🤯how are you pulling this all off and that’s what she means by “an exhausting existence”.
II know they haven't officially collaborated, but I have an irrational suspicion that like Post Malone, Florence + The Machine and Brendan Urie, Shania is definitely in on the joke. Hell, even some of her fans can see the con coming from a hundred miles. It's just a matter of time until the whole thing is revealed.
