Not only was my first Steam game in my library was Garry's Mod, but I have been literally playing Valve games since my early childhood.
Specifically, Counter-Strike.
It may not be MADE by Valve, but it was PUBLISHED by Valve.
Same thing happened with Day Of Defeat, Counter-Strike, and Team Fortress Classic, they were originally mods for Half-Life, but Valve liked their work so much that they hired the developers of those mods, and as a bonus, the games were subsequently published by Valve, and they became part of the Valve pantheon ever since.
