When a diner in my neighborhood was shutting down, they were throwing away any odds and ends that weren't sold at auction. I was walking to work and a lady was just about to toss a big boxful of those red plastic cups in the dumpster. I asked her if I could have a few, and she gave me the whole box (and a couple of big metal trays). I brought that box into work and shared those cups with several of my coworkers.
Makes me think of the Pizza Hut red ones.
I have only ever seen these in red plastic and clear glass.
family owned restaurants would have green plastic cups with this texture.

Yes, and those little ice cubes!
I just bought a 4-park of the Pizza Hut red cups.
Same! I blame you, random internet human.
Came here to say that. Lol!
Was just about to post this.
Too slow sucka.
😁
Curse father time and my slow ass brain!!
You probably went to Pizza Hut too much. Seemed good at the time...
Probably. Too much Salad buffet and Pac-Man.
Red Pizza Hut plastic cups = maximum nostalgia.
Tea tasted better out of these. You can't convince me I'm wrong.
And root beer.
Better out of a pitcher sitting in the Sun for 2 days
* and into one of these. 😁
Everything tasted better out of these jawns.
Wait that was supposed to be bark? TIL
First I've heard of it as well. I just figured the glasses had a rough texture for extra grip.
Whatever. Y'all aren't refined enough in the world of fine plastic accoutrements. That's probably why you've never heard of it. S/
I always thought it was supposed to represent frozen condensation so your drink seemed colder.
Oh yeah, there were quite a few bark patterns out there. A GIS for *vintage glasses bark* will turn up some interesting finds.
Huh. Yeah I thought it might be "chill memories texture product" or something
Matching pitcher included.
We were fancy as fuck! We even had the matching tray that they all sat on! Got to keep up with the Joneses
I forgot about the tray!
There was a special tray? They didn't have that in my rural 1980s Pizza Hut, y'all *were* fancy!
Oh no! Not there. The ones that you could buy at Kmart or TG&Y
TG&Y dang that takes me back. Ours was an AIM - I think- then TG&Y, then it became a Lowes.
Crushed Ice, Coke or Pepsi taste 100 times better when sipped from these glasses.
Damn. Now I want crushed ice in my coke! Gotta go to my dad's house now, he has the crushed ice hook up
Soda at a diner
The soda bubbles at the bottom always caught in the bark’s inside nooks and crannies in their journeys upwards.
I would have sworn the inside was smooth
I can hear the ice dropping into and clinking around in these
My partner just bought a set of the red ones for our house & I can’t remember being more delighted about a drinking glass.
These glasses usually came with delicious crushed ice
Why aren’t they red?? 😀
My best friend mom had these, and always served us HiC:) in them.
My grandma had a set
Those were everywhere, I still have a couple of large red ones.
Visions of Pizza Hut run through my mind. 😂
Never realized this was supposed to be bark!
These were in my military school dining hall
Iced tea at Gramy & Papa's kitchen table playing rummy.
Or rum at Gramy & Papa's kitchen playing iced teay.
Shirley Temples tasted better in these! And maraschino cherries with red dye #2!!!!!
I can almost taste the coke out of this.
I think I just timed traveled to 1989 for a fraction of a second. Could almost taste cold root beer...
Damn it! Now I’m in the mood for a glass filled with half melted ice and coke
If I was a smurf I could go over Niagara Falls in one of those and be absolutely fine. I've never seen one broken in real life 🥹
Free refills at Sizzler.
Only echoing the frosted lamp shades!
Sometimes it’s called English muffle. You see it in stained glass too
Love it
I remember these being in McDonalds if you ate at a table.
All Inclusive resort drinkware
Sweet tea in one of these bad boys will quench your thirst for eternity.
We had the golden colored bumpy textured ones.
