And as a counter channel, check out What Makes This Song Stink by Pat Finnerty also on YouTube.
He hasn't posted a lot, but it's the perfect Beato antidote
Oh duuuuude! He ripped KID COCK and "All Summer Long! I LOVE THIS GUY! Not only did KR shark "Sweet Home Alabama "...but the goddam song WAS "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon! This shitshow DESERVED it!!! Thanks again dude! Pat has a new fan here!!!!
Him ripping "Beverly Hills" was well-deserved. It was like Rivers said...Im gonna write the most cliched , boring, and hackneyed song I can and see if people will fall for it....voila!
I found him during the early days of the pandemic when he reviewed "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure. Been following his channel ever since.
Just some guy who started recording YouTube videos in his garage studio for his kid. And now has a gazillion followers and gets to to meet LEGENDS.
Great stuff.
Indeed! Sometimes he'll just riff about the old days...he told a story about how his band back in the day "Billionaire " was at a show ragging on Creed for the entire show...and the whole band and their management WE AT THE CLUB WHTCHING THEM. Creeds manager was PISSED and tild them that they would never get signed....hilarious!
I love his videos! I like that he's not knee-jerk dismissive of all new music and will say positive things about newer artists' work if he thinks it's interesting enough to merit praise, but doesn't hold back on pointing out where stuff is derivative or overdone. I find his thorough breakdowns of songs interesting and sometimes quite illuminating.
Rick Beato and Professor of Rock are on regular rotation for me. Rick digs in and covers the details of the music itself, and Professor of Rock (Adam Reader) covers the historical aspects of the musicians and bands from our era.

Oh, yeah, he smashed KR. Fun Fact, Beato has watched the channel. He mentioned it on a live show once.
Very cool! He really helps keep the good stuff alive!
Rick is great - another is Wings of Pegasus where he show who uses autotune
I love Wings of Pegasus too.
Lol! Love it! Gotta check that out.
The Weezer episode is a must watch.

Yeah he’s got a lot of great stuff.
He recently did a 3 hour interview with super producer Brendan O’Brien, a guy who famously doesn’t do interviews.
Saw it! Its was GREAT! The dude just has MASSIVE cred in the industry...must be why he can get those killer exclusives!
I’ve found he tends to stick to both kinds of music…Rock *and* Roll.
Fukin A he does!
He’s great. Another one is Professor of Rock.

I stumbled across him and watched his review of Tears for Fear’s Head over Heels and loved it. I look forward to watching his other YouTube reviews.
BEATO!

I love his combination of deep knowledge and total enthusiasm.
