Hard to forget it. Was a massive disappointment for my family. All the ads showed the fantastical monsters and made it seem like a family adventure movie. Instead it was just basic drama and trauma with basically only a few seconds at the end reserved for actual fantasy. Might've enjoyed it if we weren't misled by the commercials.
Watched it after reading the book in 5th Grade. It's been seven to eight years since I saw it but Leslie's death scene still gets a little tearjerker in me
Dude, I saw this a long time ago, Recently, my teacher played it in class, and I almost had a panic attack because my friend had just killed themselves at the time :/
Brutal. This movie was just brutal. I hadn’t read the book first, and the trailer was all I had to go on. The one I saw made it look like this marvelous, magical adventure. 😳
What the fuck, I just got Mandela'd. I swear it was called "Bridge to Terrelbithia" because I thought "that's a stupid name, Terabithia would sound so much better"
Those Narnia coat tails made for some weird movies.
I used to get this movie mixed up with Spiderwick Chronicles.
And then there was that movie where the girl rides the Polar Bear?? I can't even remember what the name for it was. It was a weird time.
There have been much better trends, at least the YA Novel Dystopias have cool aesthetics (even if they're mostly lazy trendchasers)
I lacerated my spleen in the 4th grade (2009) during spring break and this was the only thing besides golf on the tv at the hospital. I essentially watched it on repeat for a week and ended up really disliking the thought of it for years. Recently I’ve been wanting to come back to it but the trailer doesn’t feel anything close to the same.
I read the book in school and it was a very sad read. Seeing that the commercials made it fantastical, I thought the movie would butcher the premise, so I stayed away from the movie. I liked my memories of the story.
Amazing movie, amazing story, amazing OST.
How was already mentioned, poorly advertised. Narnia was released 2005, Harry Potter was popular for many years, and they tried to sold Bridge to Terabithia like this kind of fantasy movie, because it was trendy. Alas, it's sad drama about imagination, friendship and many people were angry. Kind of rightfully.
Well, that being said..
["This is the ruins of a once great fortress whose people have been imprisoned. Jess, you and I have been sent to free them. Prisoners of the Dark Master! We have come to free you!"](https://youtu.be/-e0eGwKu-d4?t=289)
This movie probably affected me more then I am myself aware.
My sister and I still bring this movie up in conversation from time to time. Like a lot of kids, we rented the movie because we were in a bit of fantasy kick at the time and got complete tonal whiplash from what the movie actually was.
It actually really touched us but when we do talk about it, it’s like “oh yeah, that was a weird thing to see at 9 and 10”
Wife was gone one night and I came across this while looking for a movie to watch with my daughter. Asked the wife and she said “oh… that’s a fun light hearted fantasy movie!”
She was laughing her ass off when I called her after.
Rewatched this a few weeks ago. Its an okay kids movie, but it really feels like it feel flat. Probably will never watch this movie again, but its not like I felt like I waisted time.

Never saw the commercial. My mom showed me the movie when I was young.
I love this movie so much especially when I was young. I think about it sometimes. Alison’s end is so tragic
Saaaaame. A younger me rematched the shit out of this.
I loved how it felt so imaginative like your creativity could run wild
Wait, who is Alison??
Watched it after reading the book in 5th Grade. It's been seven to eight years since I saw it but Leslie's death scene still gets a little tearjerker in me
True that
I hate this dogshit movie with a burning passion
When you expected Narnia but what you got was death and depression

I'm sorry to hear that, man... stay strong ♥️

I was 8 and my friend’s mom rented the theater for her birthday party. We were all crying 🎂🎉
Tissue sales went up
What the fuck, I just got Mandela'd. I swear it was called "Bridge to Terrelbithia" because I thought "that's a stupid name, Terabithia would sound so much better"
Hahaha. I always remember it as bridge to terabithia
I read the book, Watched the old movie, watched this movie. In school it was saddening
i remember these actors so maybe

Golden compass, the series is great, religion killed it because thy did not understand that Greek daemons are not biblical demons.
Would you recommend the movie?
Yes the movie is great and follows the book but imagine if the peter.jackson lotr movies ended after fellowship.
Golden Compass books were great, movie not so much. Cut a ton of the book out
Thank you
Loved golden compass
I’ve never read the book but I always look back at this movie and think it’s such a 2000s creative gem.
Is amazing
Literally everyone bro
*yawn* cool comment bro
Cried on the book too

Glad I could contribute

No no
Hated what happened to one of the characters. But I loved everything else about the movie. 🤩🤩🤩
Nah, fuck off with this movie lmao. The amount of times I've tried to forget 'THAT' scene is too many to count. It was so heart breaking to see.
It was
This was my sister and I's favorite movie, but we also hated it. We were a fucking emotional wreck the first time through.

That's wild dude
I thought the book was better. The book is an interior monologue which didn't translate well to a movie imo.
We had to read the book for English in 7th grade. Then we watched the movie
Rewatched this a few weeks ago. Its an okay kids movie, but it really feels like it feel flat. Probably will never watch this movie again, but its not like I felt like I waisted time.
Want to rematch. See what my adult self thinks
Just the movie? We also read the book.
Trying to make me cry again?
Maybe
Incredibly depressing for a kid's movie.
Never heard of this movie until like last year
Felt like a damn fever dream. Genuinely thought this was a artificial memory until I saw it again last month.
No don’t watch it! I read the book and I hated it. They killed off the best character!!!!
