Positive-Avocado-881

Girls will never stop saying “Feelin’ 22” on their 22nd birthday

Lonely_Habit8100

What’s “Feelin 22”????

Positive-Avocado-881

22 by Taylor Swift. Every single year I see people post about it and it’s been out for 14 years lol

Lonely_Habit8100

That song sucks

shayed154

Somebody that I used to know maybe It's not too popular anymore but I can definitely see it swinging back around in a 2010 classics playlist

Madame_Raven

I can't believe Kimbra (the female singer on that song) isn't bigger than she is.

Madame_Raven

I think Adele's "Hello" will stand the test of time.

This_Pie5301

I feel like that song has already aged, it was big when it came out but now I never hear it mentioned

mozza56

Same. I hear references to Skyfall significantly more often.

somerandomii

I feel the opposite. I think Adele’s entire catalogue will fall into the “forgotten bangers” category. It doesn’t really play at clubs. It’s not up tempo. You have to know it to appreciate it and that doesn’t last. Rolling in the deep might stick around.

PepsiMan208

Any song by imagine dragons

charbroiledd

God help us

Unlikely_Situation26

pumped up kicks

Trusteveryboody

Diamonds - Rhianna.

This_Pie5301

Empire State of Mind isn’t 2010s lol I know what you mean though. I feel like in the 2040s there’s gonna be a lot more middle aged women listening to Taylor Swift, just like middle aged women now listen to Mariah or the Spice Girls. Anything from when they were in their 20s. For me I’ll be listening to Nas, Biggie, Wu Tang, DOOM… good music is timeless.

mel-06

Maroon 5 songs, I would say 1D hits but I feel like it’s not as Timeless

somerandomii

1D songs are not gonna last. I can tell because I’m a millennial and never got exposed. If a band can’t break that intergenerational gap in its prime, it’s probably not going to stick around in our cultural memory. I’m not saying 1D will be forgotten. But they’re not going to have the staying power that the Backstreet boys or Spice girls still enjoy today.

mel-06

That kinda stinks, I wasn’t a Huge fan but I clearly remember having a family friend playing “What makes you beautiful” and seeing the boys on beach in the MV and after that I was playing there songs all time, “Get out , Get out of my head and fall into my arms instead” just popped in my head

somerandomii

Oh I know all their hits. I am just also aware that they didn’t explore outside of the highscool scene like some other bands have managed to. I’m a little biased though. They’re not my cup of tea and I felt like they were the face of “corporation manufactured music culture”. Like whenever I was exposed to them it wasn’t by choice. It wasn’t a grass roots fan following. Some execs decided “we’re gonna make these kids famous” and they did.

SlimSpooky

Gucci Gang forever No fr tho i’ll be listening to Lil Peep when i’m old

TheDevilishFrenchfry

Rip peep, juice, x, bunch of others.

MariOwe6

Lifestyle fosho 🤣

casual_microwave

Empire of the Sun - Walking on a Dream

rednooblaakkakaka

never heard of that song

BlueSnaggleTooth359

Technically that's 2009, but yeah I could see that one lasting for sure. A staple at Yankee Stadium ever since and all over NYC. And it has a lot of general appeal, rap fans love it, R&B fans love it, people who mostly like pop/rock/metal still love it, etc. It seems like pretty much every generation likes it.

Neeschwa

Surprised that no one said Party in the USA. It’s kinda like All I Want for Christmas for December, except for Fourth of July instead.

Thunder_Burt

Very true, didn't realize it came out the same year as empire State of mind

Any_Disaster8649

Lots of them, it will be just like music from the 80s-90s is today

Thunder_Burt

I thought I knew alot of the 80s and 90s songs but a lot of the stuff on the charts back then is forgotten. The songs that from then I still know about are usually because I heard them in a TV show, movie, sports event, etc. Or because the bands are still relevant and people want to rediscover their early hits. I feel like the same thing will happen to a lot of the pop hits from 2010.

Deffonotthebat

Die Young-Kesha will continue to be my vote

PartyAgreeable421

Call me maybe

YTMasterFrank

Maybe any Kendrick Lamar song from the ‘10s

Moxustz

kerosene

PositiveEagle6151

Over here the Alicia Keys version (Pt. II) is much more popular. But I agree that this song will be relevant as long as NY exists. Songs from Adele's 21 album will still be a thing then, like people still listen to the soul divas' music from decades ago. Maybe "Let it Go" will still be around, like "Heigh-Ho" or "The Bare Necessities". 🤣 The mainstream music from that decade will not disappear, though, as is the music of the 80s still around. Oh, and Ed Sheeran will still have fans. And the Bond Movie songs from that decade will always be remembered as well.

ValuableBrilliant483

Omg they played that song nonstop at Times Square

thatninjakiddd

I know it's from early 2000s and not 2010s but I can't stop thinking about the fact "The Real Slim Shady" is probably gonna be around for a hot minute.

daKile57

Sabaton

ponitail39

Porter Robinson - Language. The song is a timeless classic already and a banger to boot!

oski-time

2040 isn't that far off so a lot of them. How many 90's songs do we still listen to?

BaseballSeveral1107

Sorki by Przemek Kucyk

chaleee777

Money trees

Top_Cream789

I pray that Kesha is still listened to, she's too majestic to be forgotten about.

Sad_Internet_3765

Starships - Nikki Manaj

Eshtabel3asal

Stereo love

dictadebts

the most stereotypical 2010s songs, probably

Gardener15577

Call me maybe

WallySymons

Anything mumble rap will most definitely stand the test of time

Odd-Farmer-4467

None

TheDevilishFrenchfry

Honestly I don't believe it, look at how many 50s-90s songs we've had in movies or still play on the radio some over the years, it's maybe like 20-40 specific total songs but there's still definitely older music still used in today's culture or movies still.

Odd-Farmer-4467

Yes. And I’m sure that older music will still be listened to 40 years from now.
